BUT LET’S ALL FREAK OUT REGARDLESS …

|| By FITSNEWS ||  The whole world has been up in arms over Iran’s nuclear program (and the negotiations to shut it down) … but what about the aerial armada of “suicide drones” the Middle Eastern nation is assembling?

“Iran has placed an ‘explosive emphasis’ in putting military surveillance and attack drones into the sky, including ‘suicide’ aircraft that increase risks for Israel and for U.S. ships in the Persian Gulf,” Rowan Scarborough of The Washington Times reported this week.

Scarborough’s reporting was based on a U.S. Army analysis no doubt intended to ramp up the already hysterical Iran-related fearmongering …

“Perhaps no aspect of Iran’s overt military program has seen as much development over the past decade as Iranian unmanned aerial vehicles,” the report stated.  “Iran’s explosive emphasis on drone development promises to make American operations in both the Persian Gulf and Gulf Aden (at the Red Sea) more complicated and can also pose a proliferation concern should Iran export suicide drones to groups like Hezbollah or Bashar al-Assad loyalists in Syria.”

Wait … not al-Qaeda in Syria?  Oh right … we’re weaponizing them.  You know … while they behead Christians and what not …

Anyway …

In addition to threatening its military presence, America is concerned Iran will deploy these “suicide drones” in the Strait of Hormuz (above), which is where twenty percent of the world’s oil is transported.

Hmmmm … okay …

Now … imagine for a moment we were talking about Iranian warships … conducting military exercises in the Chesapeake Bay.

You think our country would be taking defensive measures?

Damn right it would …

As we’ve stated repeatedly, Iran is not America’s problem – it’s Israel’s problem.  And as Israel has repeatedly stated (albeit untruthfully), it can defend itself.

In fact Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu has told America “never to second guess” Israel … even as the Jewish State launched new offensive military campaigns subsidized by billions of U.S. tax dollars.

Any of this make sense?

Hell no …

But hey … it’s the new “War on Terror.”  Which you, your kids and grandkids can’t afford … but which the new warmongers are going to make you pay for anyway.

I’ve become convinced after 2001 that the political right puts too many icecubes in the bongs, and packs the bowls too tight. They are the most paranoid people ever. It’s like they have to have an enemy. Somewhere, somehow, there’s always some “enemy” out to get us. I mean we spend 50 years staring down the old Soviet Union in the Cold War, that ends, and Europe has freedom, and suddenly we’ve got this new list of boogey men. Bush starts off the millenium with his “axis of evil” – like it’s WWII and the Germans Italians and Japan are replaced with powerhouse countries of Iraq, Iran and North Korea. Oh, the whole world is threatened. And then it’s the, Rag-head Rotary, Boka Huram (sounds like a strain of hash), and they’re at the border. And the newest, Iran has “radical” drone suicide bombers (which is funny because being a drone they actually are not human and cannot be suicide bombers by definition), and they jump up and down on why we don’t say we’re at war with Islam. Do you really want to be at war with Islam – and the 3.5 billion people that belong to that religion? Why? Oh well, guess it’s time for them to pack up another round of hits for everyone. And please, keep the seeds out.

Exploiting fears and prejudices is the Right’s stock-in-trade. Without it they lose, so they always manufacture whatever appropriate bogeymen they need to reach those ends. The Right’s adherents are too ignorant to see the manipulation going on, so it works quite well.

I was watching Fox News the other morning. They were doing two segments one on how Obama had offended Christians at pray breakfast, and one on how we needed to cut Social Security and Medicare. The comment from the Fox “expert” was . “Look we have to cut the budget somewhere, and with ISIS running around everywhere cutting people’s heads off we can’t cut defense.” So that leaves Social Security and Medicare.

That is how the right uses fear to get what they want.

Rocky April 10, 2015 at 3:32 pm

Yeah, but there’s something they fear even more when it comes to Social Security and Medicare – elderly voters.

Reply
Jack April 10, 2015 at 7:23 pm

That Has not stopped them from trying to kill Medicare for the last four election cycles. They are being paid a lot of money by billionaires to cut taxes and not cut defense spending. So look for them to continue to attack social programs of all types.
They don’t fear old people as much as they fear the Koch Brothers turning off their pay.

The Germans did this in WWII. Hopefully the idiots in this part of the world will finally take it nuclear and put an end to the thousand year war.

Those WWII German buzz bombs did not have very good guidance … Now one can buy better autopilots in any German hobby shop.

“Strait”, FITS, not “Straight”

I could tell by looking at the pic that it wasn’t straight. ????

Fits just wanted to juxtapose “straight” with “put[ting] wood” in the previous headline.

Very punny!!

He corrected it. No note or update either.

Man, Bibi is gonna flip out now. Mullah Drones. We’ve got Mullah Drones. We need is more bayonets and horses.

It seems like such a waste. I mean a suicide drone can’t be rewarded with 72 virgins, can it?

Reply
Rocky April 10, 2015 at 3:31 pm

No, they’re eligible for 72 blow-up dolls.

Mmmmm … No. But the drone builder can.

Won’t it be a big surprise if one of our war machines is damaged by an attack by a “drone?”

Reply
FastEddy23 April 11, 2015 at 12:03 am

Yeah! … Or maybe a towelhead “drone” blows up one of those evil oil corporation’s tankers.

Reply

We’ll *have* to go to war then! Even if they deny it was theirs.

Some CIA or Mossad hack is likely repainting some of our or their drones for a false flag caper. Akin to Gulf of Tonkin.

Reply
FastEddy23 April 11, 2015 at 2:07 pm

Ohhh Yeah!! … One would hope. Otherwise we are not getting our moneys worth outta Them.

FastEddy23 April 14, 2015 at 11:47 am

… as for the Gulf of Tonkin, that was Texaco and the CIA, not Mossad.

(You can read all about it in the ship’s/captain’s logs of the Glomar Explorer, lately of the mothball fleet in Suisun Bay, Taxifornia.)

—–

No need to repaint any drones. The towlheads can buy them in just about any hobby shop in Cairo, Rome, Istambul, Moscow …

FastEddy23 April 11, 2015 at 2:06 pm

Of Course we would! That would be piracy on the high seas … punishable by the full force of the US Coast Guard and US Navy and most of the EU Navies, too. (FYI: 90% of the Persian Gulf tanker traffic is flagged other than the USA. “… All the gold in California is in a bank in Beverly Hills in somebody else’s name …”)

Fits does more to whip up fears than Graham. Fits reports these foreign threat fears every other day. On the odd days, it’s national economic fears. Will use to do the same thing with state’s economy. Apparently, the state’s economy is going so well that there is no fears to report. Fits hasn’t done an article on the South Carolina economy since December 2, 2014.

Here is an excerpt from The State website published today.

Manufacturing job growth in South Carolina rose 13.5 percent from January 2011 – the beginning of Gov. Nikki Haley’s administration – to December 2014. That is nearly double the 7 percent average of all other Southeastern states.

It was Richard Farina, Joan Baez’s brother-in-law that wrote “Been Down So Long, It Looks Like Up To Me.” That’s the story of SC’s statistically high “improvement.”

Bible Thumper April 10, 2015 at 5:00 pm

No one ever responds to my main point. Why won’t FITS report on South Carolina’s economy.

Reply
Billy April 10, 2015 at 7:18 pm

Because who gives a crap that SC has gotten a little better. Its people are still poor as crap, unhealthy, have no mobility, and have a governor and legislature who don’t give a crap about them; or anything else except national politics and who will pay them off tomorrow. As of the end of February we were still 45th in the nation in employment; or to put a positive spin on it, we are in the the top five in unemployment. I guess we should care that we have inched into the level of Republican hell hole.
So there is a response.

Fits could write that. He does the same type article about the national economic news about every third day.

It can’t be too hard to sink a tanker, especially a full one. Defending them is the hard task.

And as someone pointed out in a past discussion of this, it will be the marine insurance companies that halt shipping after the first sinking or real threat. US taxpayers may have to be the insurer of last resort. Heck, we may have to purchase all the tankers and re-flag them.
