Ted Cruz Welcomes The Competition

|| By FITSNEWS || The first announced GOP presidential candidate of the 2016 election cycle suddenly has plenty of company … which according to him is a good thing.

U.S. senator Ted Cruz – whose March 22 announcement broke the 2016 seal – now has five fellow “Republicans” seeking the same nomination he’s after.  In fact the GOP field doubled this week with the addition of retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson, former Hewlett Packard CEO Carly Fiorina and former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee to a slate already featuring Cruz and his senatorial colleagues Rand Paul of Kentucky and Marco Rubio of Florida.

According to Cruz, the more the merrier …

“The entry of three more candidates into the 2016 GOP primary this week is terrific news for our party and indicative of the strong field of candidates that will compete in the 2016 cycle,” Cruz said.  “I welcome Ben Carson, Carly Fiorina, and Gov. Mike Huckabee into the race. All are individuals for whom I hold immense respect and who have inspiring stories that will energize Republicans across the country and get them engaged in the important issues before us.”

Interesting tactic …

Wonder if Cruz – who has vowed to run a positive campaign – will say the same thing if he ends up in an eleventh hour dogfight with one of them?

The more people who participate the less likely he’ll be last place.

I like Ted Cruz. He wants to be the leader of the free world, and yet week after week, he never shows up for work.

This is shaping up like Mark Sanford’s Congressional race. There are so many SOBs watering down the field that somebody with 25% support could go all the way to the convention. I’m hoping that it is a tie between serial candidates Santorum and Huckabee, beating their bibles all the way to a landslide loss.

A non-citizen Canadian Cuban born to a Cuban father without legal residency wants to be President of the United States, and Mental is right – the more who enter, the less likely he is to be in last place. A Muslim Cuban Canadian born in a foreign land – geesh – what next? And why won’t Tango come to my wedding?

What’s interesting is that an anti Hawk like Fits is saying nice things about Ted,who is as big a military hawk as Lindsay Graham.

Hypocrite?

Sure,what’s new?

Ted Cruz is the embodiment of today’s GOP. Spouts negativity, lies, and rhetoric without providing any real ideas on how they would make things better. I don’t really blame them, though, as with the backing of Faux News, people eat up the garbage like it was filet mignon.

Ted Cruz is probably the only GOP candidate who can articulate the conservative principles and present them clearly. Plus, he’s a man of his word. He went to Washington to shake the establishment and he did just that.
