ALL THE “REPUBLICAN” RHETORIC YOU CAN HANDLE

The South Carolina “Republican” party will gather this weekend for its annual state convention, an establishment goat rodeo that we wouldn’t attend for all the special interest money being thrown into the affair.

Seriously … when it comes to the GOP, we’ve heard it all before.

We wished death unto the GOP back in 2012 and have never looked back.  More to the point, the GOP has done nothing to warrant us coming back.

Seriously … at the national and state level, this is the party of big government.  And its “conservative” heroes are the embodiment of big government.

Anyway … for those of you eager to hear these hacks feed you familiar rhetoric while patting themselves on the back about how they are the party of “less government, lower taxes and more freedom,” SCGOP chairman Matt Moore has you covered.

In a nod to “technology,” the SCGOP is live-streaming its convention in … wait for it … virtual reality.

“Live streaming our state convention in virtual reality shows the Republican Party’s commitment to both transparency and innovative technology,” Moore said. “People across the state and nation can watch our state convention in 360 degree clarity to see self government in action.”

Self-government in action?

That’s a funny phrase coming from Moore … whose state party was neck-deep in the drive to deny “Republican” frontrunner Donald Trump the delegates he earned during the primary and caucus elections.

Frankly, we’ll pass on watching the GOP goat show … virtually or otherwise …  and just assume that the party’s delegation to the national convention in Cleveland, Ohio will sell their allegiance (and sell out the voters) at the first opportunity.
