“FIRST IN THE SOUTH” FRONTRUNNER HOLDING UPSTATE RALLY

GOP presidential frontrunner Donald Trump will be back in early-voting South Carolina this week.

Trump will hold a campaign rally in Anderson, S.C. on Monday (October 19) at 6:00 p.m EDT.  The rally will be held at the Civic Center of Anderson (3026 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard) and is open to the public.

According to the latest aggregate polling data from Real Clear Politics, Trump still enjoys a commanding lead in South Carolina – drawing the support of 33.7 percent of the “First in the South” electorate.  That’s nearly twice his closest rival.

Nationally, Trump is running neck-and-neck with retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson – who has pulled within the margin of error of “The Donald.”

Trump, Carson and former U.S. Senator Marco Rubio of Florida are the only three candidates currently polling above 10 percent, according to Real Clear Politics.

I wonder if the Donald can cure cancer too?

Donald Trump says that if he had been president in 2001, his immigration policies would have kept terrorists from attacking the World Trade Center on September 11.

He can Do that, but he’ll never be elected president

I use to think he didn’t stand a chance but not anymore. Feels like the Tea Party wave of 2010 again and look at some of the wackadoodles that were voted in then.

Why do people call politicians failures and deride them and then think that only a politician is qualified to hold office?

Same reason the NFL looks through the rosters of the NCAA to find recruits rather than pulling bums off the street?

If he set his mind to, he probably could, in a manner of speaking. They will never find “a” cure for cancer for multiple reasons, one being that there are so many and varied causes, people, individual body chemistries, and potential “cures” that may or may not work with a given person, triggers, and other circumstances.

The other factor working against ever finding any true cures is rampant, human GREED. This one, a strong and determined leader such as Trump might be able to do a little about, by passing laws and restrictions that would punish, rather than reward unbridled greed. You see, Big Pharma and Big Medical really don’t want to cure cancer. There is way too much money to be made in “treating” cancer, rather than “curing”it. A cure for cancer would seriously cut into their repeat business and be counter-productive to their bottom lines. Crafting laws and restrictions to punish the greed and reward actually working for a cure are well above my pay grade, but someone like Trump perhaps could find the resources to make such happen.

Dead on C/C, This is what I have been saying for years. Some of my friends are naïve enough to think “They wouldn’t do anything like that.” Then I ask : “How many Polio treatment centers did you pass getting here ?” Everyone likes to jump on the Military Industrial Complex like it is something bad. The P/MIC is filthy rich making people suffer so they can make a big profit. Like you say, the nuts and bolts of a solution are above my pay grade as well.

Hi Rogue! At one time, there may have been a sense of right and wrong in business and medicine, maybe back when polio vaccines were being developed. As time has passed, things are more and more, centered on that bottom line, human suffering be damned. Of course, I have to wonder about stories that the earlier polio vaccines were full of cancerous tissues snd stuff.
I understand the later vaccines were not so bad and the “sugar cube” inoculations were much better. As I seem to recall, polio inoculation involved a series of three shots. I hated shots, back then. I got the first shot and then the next two were sugar cubes. Or was it two shots and one was a shot and the other a cube?

sparklecity October 19, 2015 at 12:51 pm

All my family (my brother & I were kids back then) took was the sugar cube. Everybody went to the local high school gym and stood in line and took the oral dose.
If they did that today tin-foil hat types and the Tea Party (not to mention rightwing nut radio) would be all over it bitching that it is a conspiracy and a waste of government money

dwb619 October 19, 2015 at 2:46 pm

In the very southern reaches of Greenville County the Health Department did the sugar cube and all other vaccinations out of a small white van, or as us chillun called it ,”The Shotmobile”.

Before he’s done, he’ll probably take credit for inventing the Internet away from Al Gore. Actually, he’ll probably say the universe is such a mess and that if he’d have created it it would be fantastic, problem free, and twice as Huuuuge…

Greed might be a hindrance but you have to think if a large pharmaceutical company came across a cure for cancer and tried to bury it, I would think that the people working for the company that discovered the cure would do everything in their power to give it the light of day. Just because the greedy fat cats running the companies have no souls does not mean the people who devoted their lives for a cure will watch as their creation goes down the drain without a fight.

CorruptionInColumbia October 19, 2015 at 10:50 am

One would hope, but so many factors can be brought into play by those top-dwelling fat cats. “You do know we can sabotage your career, don’t you?” “How are you going to send your kids through med school if you can no longer make what we pay you?” “You worked so hard going to school and later, here with us, to get where you are. Now you don’t really want all of your efforts to be lost by pushing this issue, do you?”

To add to this:
Burke County ,Georgia (Waynesboro) mid 80’s.
Georgia Health Department picked a poverty ridden rural elementary school to conduct a test and study as to the long term benefits of “coating” children permanent teeth to prevent or reduce the cavities.
Never heard anything after all the photo- ops and hoopla of the feel good moments.
Know why?
BECAUSE IT WORKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He would have had to be President the term before that. That is when they entered the country. From inauguration day until 9/11 would not have been enough time to enact the policy and have it not only functioning but working retroactively to detect those that predated his policies.

If W. and Slick Willie had been serious with border control and understood Al queda as well as Ollie North did in the 80’s, maybe it would have been thwarted. They are politicians, and “Votes Matter.” And, apparently establishment repubs and dems, all want the dems to lead the country down the tubes.

Only the troll pretending to be me supports Trump. I’m actually a fan of Bernie Sanders. I’m hoping he wins because we really need someone to undo the decades of Republican damage done to this fine nation. Obama has done a lot of good but we need leaps, not steps. Bernie is the man that will give us leaps.

Leaps right off the ledge. Are people REALLY THIS IGNORANT? All of Sanders promises will cost $18T and even taxing every person making over $1M for the next ten years wouldnt pay for it.

Can you imagine the affect of him going to the state fair and just walking around and talking to people ? These politicians are so reluctant to “rub shoulders” with every day folks. That helps the stereotype of the politician. The only one that actually dose that is Huckabee.

Reason is security is a nightmare when someone does that. Notice ever since JFK was shot, presidents don’t do motor parades in open vehicles?
Its virtually impossible to protect someone in such an open area .
It also about efficiency. You can reach more people in a venue than walking hap haphazardly around,

I wouldn’t cross the street to hear/see that draft dodging blowhard clone of Mussolini.
The Italians felt the same way about Mussolini till stuff went to hell in a hand basket then they shot him and his woman and strung them up up by the heels in a town square.

Like the airlines, they overbooked the original venue, a high school, and moved to a
larger one.

http://www.independentmail.com/news/trump-may-break-civic-centers-attendance-record_30702471
To accommodate the maximum number of people, spectators will be required
to stand during the event, with the exception of 100 seats behind the
podium for special guests.

Trump was originally scheduled to speak in the T.L. Hanna High School
gymnasium, which can hold about 2,000 people. But the event was moved to
the Civic Center after more than 4,000 people reserved free tickets
online.
