Barely a week on his new job – as district flack for U.S. Rep. Tom Rice (RINO-S.C.) – Sweeney has landed in another (albeit smaller) controversy.
What did he do? According to social media posts obtained by Media Bistro’s Fishbowl DC, Sweeney invoked the famous “Schweddy Balls” skit from Saturday Night Live as part of a harangue against National Public Radio.

Obviously this website is no fan of state-supported media, but as we’ve noted previously it is low-hanging fruit (or balls in this case). What do we mean by that? Easy: It is precisely the sort of thing “Republicans in Name Only” like Rice enjoy pointing to in an effort to prove there is something – anything – government spends money on that they find objectionable.
