… TO THE GRAVE, DAWG

It’s been some time since we last poked fun at the local inbrededness that mozies rampant up in Anderson County, S.C. – a.k.a. “The Land That Time Forgot.”

So when a friend of ours from that (red)neck of the woods snapped a humorous pic of their local fishwrapper – The Tin Foil Hat Times – we hopped at the chance to have a little fun.

“See Will, this is how we do a funeral procession in Anderson County,” our source said in a message accompanying the above image.

Through marriage and death, nothing says inbred like Anderson County.

Just ask the “Egg Tooth …”

That will be covered immediately after he publishes his book, reveals who took the SAT for Wingo, reveals who paid for Watkins’ folks to stay at a resort and names all the drug dealers on the USC football team. Just be patient.

Pretty cool. If I had the cash, I’d let my kids drive my remains in a boat I’d bequeath to them in my memory. Pretty cool, indeed…

Damn FITs did you get rejected by some hot woman from Anderson County. This man was not a politician. He was not fair game for your abuse. Gee I can only image what you will write about the bodies found stuffed into drums in Lake Hartwell.

Just when you thought those rear window memorials on SUV’s and pickup trucks, not to mention memorial tattoos, was about as redneck as you could get, here comes this.

The assessment of Anderson County is spot-on. Anderson County makes a Gaston trailer park look downright upscale.

The center of all culture in SC is Lexington County, right Sic Willie?

So what’s wrong with above picture? Kinda’ nice, IMHO. Who wants to be carried out in a 1982 Black Limo trimmed with burgundy satin curtains, hanging with little gold dingle balls, driven by three munsters, in cheap three piece suits you don’t even know. Not me!

I have always wanted to be placed on a pontoon boat covered with dried palmetto fronds — doused with diesel fuel. After The Citadel Bagpipe Band plays Amazing Grace, 21 Archers in Medieval garb draw back and send the arrows into my funeral pyre. Of course, all done at sunset under a pink sunset over the lake — concluded by my best friend blowing a conch horn to end the ceremonies. That’s what I’m talking about!
