Mark Sanford’s Next Chief Of Staff Is …

… SOME GUY NAMED MATTHEW TAYLOR

|| By FITSNEWS || Sources close to the office of U.S. Rep. Mark Sanford tell FITS the suddenly status quo lawmaker was not surprised by last week’s exit of his longtime confidant Scott English.

English – who lasted less than seven months on the job – became Sanford’s third chief of staff over a seven month period back in January.

As we reported exclusively earlier this week, English left the “Luv Gov’s” Washington, D.C. office to become the executive director of the American Philatelic Society.

That sounds dirty … but’s actually a gig devoted to stamps.  You know, as opposed to fellatio – which has apparently become Sanford’s department given the increasing frequency with which he’s dropping to his knees for the Washington, D.C. establishment.

Anyway …

According to our sources, Sanford was informed of English’s intention to leave back in April – when the mass exodus from the former’s congressional office was gaining momentum.

At that point, Sanford reportedly began grooming Matthew Taylor – who has been working as deputy chief of staff in Sanford’s Charleston, S.C. office – for the job.

A midwesterner, Taylor previously worked for social conservative mega-donor Foster Friess – one of the most influential supporters of “Republican” Holy Warrior Rick Santorum.

It’s not clear whether Taylor will move with his wife and young child to Washington, D.C. or continue to manage (well, attempt to manage) Sanford’s congressional office from Charleston.

Wherever he works, we hope he’s ready for some drama …
