Mark Sanford Does Damage Control Ahead Of Speechwriter’s Book

CONGRESSMAN BASHES, BELITTLES EX-STAFFER …

|| By FITSNEWS || Ten days ago this website ran a post about U.S. Rep. Mark Sanford and his staff (well, what’s left of it) sweating the impending publication of a book written by his ex-speechwriter, Barton Swaim.

This week, the former “Luv Gov” showed just how leery he is of this forthcoming volume …

In an interview with reporter Schuyler Kropf of The (Charleston, S.C.) Post and Courier, Sanford said he wasn’t interested in reading Swaim’s book because he “lived the events of 2009.”

He’s referring, of course, to his monumental first meltdown – a tearful, rambling admission of an extramarital affair involving ex-fiancee Maria Belen Chapur that nearly cost him his job.

Sanford came back from that scandal with a 2013 special election win for the U.S. House – although at this point it’s abundantly clear he is not the limited government champion who represented the first congressional district from 1995-2001.

Anyway … Sanford took several swipes at Swaim in his interview with Kropf, saying the speechwriter was so far down the totem pole in his gubernatorial office that any of his observations would had to have be based on “second or third-hand information.”

“There’s no broken trust because he wasn’t part of the circle of trust,” Sanford told Kropf.

Ouch …

Later in the interview, Sanford said he didn’t begrudge for Swaim writing the book, saying “everybody’s entitled to their own opinion but by nature of his role in the organization, it’s going to be a lot more fiction than fact.”

Yeah … anybody spotting a trend here?  Sanford is calling Swaim a) unimportant and b) a liar.  Repeatedly.

If this isn’t a shamelessly transparent effort at damage control, we don’t know what is …

It’s also the best evidence yet that Swaim’s book will paint a less-than-flattering portrait of Sanford … who richly deserves the ridicule if you ask us.

Yeah, Swaim wasn’t in that “Circle of Trust”. But when Sanford jumped out of the Circle of Trust to Hike the Appalachian Trail, Swaim must have shadowed him.

Swaim happens to be a man of integrity and holds a Ph.D. That hardly fits Mark Sanfords description of him as a liar and unimportant.

Sanford is one of my favorite politicians. Look up Republican in the dictionary and there will be a picture of Mark Sanford. He is the standard by which the breed is judged. A rich, entitled, corrupt, callus, amoral, self righteous, selfish plutocrat.

Can you share with me the edition of your dictionary. In my dictionary, they use the same exact definition for “politician”. And amazingly, I looked up the definition for a Democrat and it also had the same definition. Must be the lazy dictionary writers or the current urban slang!!

Personality Disordered is not a partisan problem and well you know it. Those same adjectives would fit many a Rhino as well as many a Democrat/Progressive: Bill Clinton, George Soros, John Edwards, Harry Reid, Elliot Spitzer, Al Sharpton, …. Boot them all out of our lives.

Give him props for opposing seismic testing and oil drilling off the SC coast.

Recall that months, maybe even a year ago, Sanford was flirting with the idea of oil drilling off the SC coast, and he went on junkets, hinting at possible acquiescence. Maybe he did that for some free stuff, who knows? After some of his recent political stances and backlash, he must have weighed the consequences of going rogue in a self-serving way. How did the people who went on those fact finding junkets vote back in their own states?

Ah, remember those days of a loving, supportive wife, who would write a letter to the editor in praise and support of you (while managing things at home, your career, birthing babies, maybe writing some of your speeches?). Seems like all your speechwriters end up writing books about you Sanford.

The guy stood in front of the entire State House, the cameras, the entire nation when it was all done, bawling his eyes out, professing his love for Maria La Bonita, had a public crap divorice, after divorce legal crap in the open, blah blah, blah. At this point, if I were he, I really wouldn’t give a crap about some staffers book.

Plus he will be easily reelected if he runs again,Fits laughable claim that this woman Catherine Templeton ,who few people in this state have ever heard of ,is going to beat him notwithstanding.

The State had a GREAT piece about the Sanford Book…and not only is Sanford squirming already about being exposed for who, and what, he is…some of FITS pals are slamming the author before the book even hits…
I noticed the hate-filled comment from Joel Sawyer, who represented Gary Johnson w/ FITS in the 2012 Presidential. Sawyers is squealing like a pig, too..
.
Remember: Sawyer was the one who told THE LIE.
I know I’ll get the Book…and see if jibes with what I know about Sanford, and the rest of the FAKE Republicans…

I’ve heard there is another book in process about Sanford and some more of our infamous SC politicians. Supposedly written by a State House insider and former Senate Employee. Word is, it will cover more that the “Sexcapades” of Governors, Lt. Governors, Senators and Reps., as well as Law Enforcement complicity in vendettas and cover ups.
Author is awaiting on the results of the most recent Fed. investigation.

Sanford’s statement about Swaim being at the bottom of the totem pole, does Sanford know that the bottom of the totem pole is actually an honor. In Native American culture the bottom of the totem pole means that person is the most honored. And that’s a really nerdy thing I just said.
