SOUTH CAROLINA CONGRESSMAN MIXED UP IN ASSAULT RIFLE CONTROVERSY
|| By FITSNEWS || U.S. Rep. Trey Gowdy of South Carolina is one of two federal lawmakers currently being investigated for posing on Capitol Hill with a firearm that’s been banned in Washington, D.C.
Gowdy and U.S. Rep. Ken Buck of Colorado posed in Buck’s office last week with a red, white and blue AR-15 assault rifle. In fact Buck tweeted the pic of the two men holding the weapon. The gun – which wasn’t loaded – belongs to Buck. According to an interview Buck gave to The Hill, the weapon is “inoperable” – and he had permission from the Capitol Police to display it in his office.
That’s not mollifying the D.C. Metropolitan police, though, who have opened an investigation into the matter citing Washington’s ban on assault rifles. Nor is it sitting well with D.C.’s attorney general – who could conceivably press charges against Buck and/ or Gowdy.

Believe it or not this has happened before. In 2012, NBC anchor/ reporter David Gregory brought a prohibited weapon to the set of “Meet the Press,” which is filmed in Washington, D.C. Police declined to charge Gregory, though.
Will Buck get a similar “hall pass?”

“This could turn out to be a problem for Congressman Buck because the authorities there may not have a problem looking the other way for a rather liberal friendly member of the network media, but if they get their claws into a Republican things may get far more serious,” the website Hot Air noted.

As hardcore Second Amendment supporters, we believe this whole thing is ridiculous. Restrictions on gun ownership – like “wars on terror” – do no make us any safer. In fact there is concrete evidence to the contrary.
Also with politicians like U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham threatening to use military force on Congress, Buck seems to be doing the prudent thing by protecting himself.
UPDATE: The D.C. police have reportedly decided against pressing charges against either Buck or Gowdy. Which raises another interesting question: Does this mean anyone traveling to our nation’s capital can now bring “inoperable” AR-15 weapons along with them? Hmmmm …

Gowdy is an opportunistic, grandstanding twat. His sole purpose in life is to appear in shared Facebook posts sporting such titles as “Trey Gowdy DESTROYS Hillary…” (nope), “Trey Gowdy DESTROYS Obama” (nope), Trey Gowdy DESTROYS *insert liberal kicking post here* (nope). I used to fall for that bullshit until I noticed, much to my chagrin, that neither Hillary, Obama, Holder, nor any other ranking liberal were “destroyed” by anything this moron has said or done. However, he does deliver red meat to the sheeple who think that any of his shenanigans mean jack shit to the existing power structure. Which he’s a part of, by the way.
If Kicking the S#!t out of Democrats presents an opportunity…he DESERVES all the credit in the world for taking it…I laud him.
I think his head must be pointed and that hairstyle is an effort to hide it.
