Alex Murdaugh’s Federal Charges, Probate Scandal, Abortion Update – Week In Review 5/27/2023

Recapping a wild week … and previewing FITSNews upcoming trip to the border.

It was another groundbreaking week in the ‘Murdaugh Murders’ crime and corruption saga as the federal government filed its first charges against convicted killer Alex Murdaugh. The 22-count, 28-page indictment – which focused exclusively on Murdaugh’s alleged financial crimes – mimicked muck of what the disbarred attorney has already been charged with at the state level. As a result, the filing of the charges set off an acrimonious battle between state and federal prosecutors over how best to proceed with the remaining charges against the Palmetto State’s most notorious criminal.

In other news, our research director Jenn Wood was a one-woman wrecking ball on South Carolina’s probate court system – which is shaping up to be the next big scandal tied to the Palmetto State’s notorious “injustice system.”

Finally, we caught our audience up the latest developments tied to South Carolina’s abortion debate – which is headed back to the state supreme court just five months after justices struck down a 2021 ban on the practice passed by state lawmakers.

Looking ahead, our upcoming ‘Week In Review‘ will be one you won’t want to miss as special projects director Dylan Nolan and I head to the U.S.-Mexican border for a first-person look at America’s escalating immigration crisis.

Catch you next week!

“WHAT”S THE POINT in making a big deal out of new Murdaugh charges when he will never, ever get out of prison again?

That widespread attitude is being used by the media, law enforcement, and the attorneys at Bland-Richter to obstruct (or simply put end) the investigation of the actual cause of Gloria Satterfield’s death.

Every single theory of what actuslly
to GS is based on Alex’s stated alibi that he was not at Moselle when the incident happened. Let me repeat. EVERY single theory is based on his alibi. How absurd is that … especially given the OBVIOUS similarity of his “Gloria” alibi to his original ‘Maggie/Paul” alibi. It is very likely that at this exact moment, AM is getting away with murder. And NOTHING to do with any of his existing charges or sentences should have any bearing on the fact that without his incredibly dubious alibi of “being at work” when Gloria “fell”, he would correctly be a prime “person of interest” with respect to her death.
