“WE THE … SUPREME COURT … MAKE THE LAWS”

|| By FITSNEWS || We ran a guest post earlier this week from author Henry Bain on the need for a modern constitution.

Well it looks like Bain has some competition in drafting such a document … namely political cartoonist Gary Varvel of The Indianapolis Star.

His latest (above) pretty much sums things up in our country ….

Sad.  But true.

Or “We shall come over . . . .”

He has plenty of competition, just go to Amazon and search for The Constitution. Multiple sources pop us. While Bain’s book is well laid out in format, I would prefer to simply read the Constitution. His interpretation matters not – SCOTUS does. I just wish they would remember their job is to interpret law, not make law.

This sums up the Constitutional basis for Gay Marriage:

Scholars: “Uh, what level scrutiny do we use?” Kennedy: “DIGNITY”

So we have 3 levels of scrutiny….er wait, lets add undue burden…good. So now there’s really 3(1/2), ah wait, lets add one more, dignity.

Good, so now we’re up to 3(3/4?).

I’m still waiting for the footnote on that opinion.

No, the idiots and cheats who elected Obama, and the Democrat Party, got it wrong. You’ve been an unmitigated disaster, of gargantuan proportions. Hopefully we get it right in 2016, and we can begin the clean-up. If we do it right, I’m sure you are going to squeal like you never have before. I will laugh if we get true Americans to squash you asunder, as you deserve.

The supreme court has interpreted the constitution – which, according to the fondling fathers, means that’s what the constitution actually says.

You’re more of an activist, like the court, than a student of the Constitution. Too many idiots like you, put in power by a dictator, for the rule of law. You are are a big problem and out of control. Our Republic cannot endure the weak and ignorant like you for another term. Hopefully, Americans have been awakened. We can only pray, and beg God’s mercy. He has beaten you before. We need His power over evil again. I know I’m praying that you are placed asunder, where you belong. And there are millions like me. God will hear and answer, I believe. He did against the NAZIs and the Slaveowners. You are but another version of that.

When the court ruled right June 30, 2015 at 8:54 pm

To the contrary. Justice makes me respect the court. Nowhere would you keep counting votes, like Gore wanted to do, until you get the numbers you like. Gore never lead in Florida, regardless of the numerous re-counts. You’re not that stupid, and anti-law. are you?

Obama is the most bigoted president in the last 200 years. Just look at his low approval numbers, and that’s with a billion dollars a day of a Industrial Media Complex trying to prop him up.

In a related matter: there was an altercation at the Statehouse, where a Confederate flag supporter, not based on any racism, was beaten bloody by anti-flag people.
The violence was not reported on this site because it does not fit the leftwing agenda.
You are no different from a capricious US Supreme Court and a president, and political party, that spits on the US Constitution.
Indict yourself as you point the finger at the lawlessness of the Democrat Party, Obama and a leftwing SCOTUS. You are guilty as they are.

SCOTUS had precedence to cite the 14th Amendment against gay marriage bans, and the argument against Obamacare was even weaker than the one regarding the mandates. Get over it you knuckleheads, you lost.

Equal rights and protections means everyone wins. Only people who want special rights and protections lose when rights are expanded to all.

Limbaughsaphatkhunt June 30, 2015 at 9:01 pm

Agree..when the gov’t decided to award rights and privileges to people for getting married…that was the start of the problem.

I am with Fits on this one, the gov’t should not be in the biz of sanctioning marriage. That’s for the churches. The gov’t should only recognize civil unions.

nitrat July 1, 2015 at 8:14 am

So, will divorce be outlawed in church marriages or are we going to have church courts deciding child custody and child support ?
And, how will church courts enforce their court orders?

MashPotato June 30, 2015 at 8:03 pm

What if we have available to us the technological and ethical foundations that render government obsolete? What if we’re more peaceful and free without the state? Any takers?

Shouldn’t we demonstrate an ability to crawl before we walk?

Reply
MashPotato June 30, 2015 at 10:14 pm

Perhaps the weight of government is so onerous we can’t stand up.

Reply
euwe max June 30, 2015 at 10:22 pm

Perhaps that view just shows we aren’t capable of managing the complications of crawling.

How many children think that if they could just run away from home, they could have “real” freedom, would get a bigger allowance, and spend it however they want… stay up and watch TV and not have to take out the trash or eat their vegetables?

To some children, growing up wastes valuable time that could be spent enjoying the benefits of grown-up life.

Wow, that’s a condescending view that never actually answers his question/proposition.

How can you not be a champion for “freedom” in concept even if you don’t think it’s attainable?

Reply
TroubleBaby July 1, 2015 at 8:27 am

Seriously, do you not find taxes onerous? Have you ever been on the wrong side of a law or regulation?

nitrat July 1, 2015 at 8:37 am

No. Taxes are the price we pay for civilized society. How else do you propose to pay for roads, cops, schools, the court system and I could go on almost as infinitum.
You tell me what laws and regulations are personally onerous to you. What should I be concerned about?

TroubleBaby July 1, 2015 at 9:12 am

“Taxes are the price we pay for civilized society.”

This is a meaningless statement. There is no “proof” of this, there is only your opinion with nothing concrete backing it up.

It’s the same notion is “wet sidewalks cause rain”.

“You tell me what laws and regulations are personally onerous to you.”

Taxes are onerous, & regulations/laws as well. I don’t feel like spending the time highlighting the growing list of laws/regulations I find onerous as well.

“What should I be concerned about?”

You should be concerned about any law that makes government an aggressor on the people is supposedly represents.

nitrat July 1, 2015 at 9:34 am

My basic question was: how do you pay for roads, cops, courts and every other government services without taxes?

I see you can’t answer that.

So, really, I wouldn’t expect you to be able to list even one government regulation that impacts your life or business in a negative or positive way.

MashPotato July 1, 2015 at 10:48 am

I can name plenty of examples, most of them dealing with distorting the economy in ways that increase prices and reducing options and opportunities. I’m happy to be more specific, but I have a hunch you don’t want to hear it.

Bigger picture, I object to the immorality and inefficiency of government. Sure, they provide the services you mentioned, but there’s no foundation to assume that people wouldn’t provide those and other services in the absence of government.

TroubleBaby July 1, 2015 at 11:09 am

Seriously, if he can’t see it don’t bother. Why get mired into specifics that will take literal pages of diatribe trying to make a obvious point to someone who has an agenda?

TroubleBaby July 1, 2015 at 11:08 am

“I see you can’t answer that.”

You do? I’ve answered several times over for various nom de plume’s.

I can’t help you follow up.

You see what you want to see.

Limbaughsaphatkhunt June 30, 2015 at 8:58 pm

Does Fits feel the same way about Citizens United (est. personhood for corporations) or even better the striking down of the voting rights act that had 90% of congress on board just a year before the decision?

Reply
Slartibartfast June 30, 2015 at 10:21 pm

I have seen far too much creative interp from umpires to believe that they KNOW they should only call balls & strikes. Why should we expect the SCOTUS to do as the Constitution bids them? It seems we live in two worlds: one world sternly demands the strict adherence to the rules.. the other begs us to protect the downtrodden regardless of any rule. One is mandatory, one is voluntary. Then we get lazy and combine the two worlds.
