LEGISLATION WOULD TRIM SOUTH CAROLINA’S MARGINAL RATES …

|| By FITSNEWS || S.C. Rep. Donna Hicks is filing legislation which would route an estimated $175 million back into the Palmetto State’s economy each year.

Hicks wants to begin gradually reducing all of South Carolina’s marginal income tax rates this coming fiscal year – lowering each of them by a quarter of a percentage point each year over the next four years.  Obviously such reductions would apply most significantly to the state’s top marginal rate of seven percent – which applies to all income earned above $14,401.

“This is a very simple bill that reduces personal income tax and replaces it through growth,” Hicks told FITS. “And puts South Carolina in line with surrounding states.”

Indeed … South Carolina is on the verge of losing economic ground to North Carolina due to the Tar Heel state’s recently adopted income tax cuts.

Which is one reason we’ve been urging state leaders to approve tax relief …

Hicks was one of the House members who supported a proposed gas tax increase last month, but she says her vote was always predicated upon passing additional income tax relief and reform of the state’s chronically mismanaged Department of Transportation (SCDOT).

“I won’t vote for another roads bill that raises taxes without reducing personal income tax,” she said.

Good for her …

What’s the purpose of filing Legislation when the current session is drawing to a close

Sorry about that, didn’t realize her name hasn’t been in the media for over 24 hours

Glad you stayed on.Liberals need all the help they can get to battle the conservative ‘truth detectors’ on Fits. :)

Seriously,glad you are contributing again.

SYNTwist May 7, 2015 at 9:59 pm

FC – you are a plant, got no time for you, not today. Not ever. Be yourself or go away. Pretty simple.

fc May 7, 2015 at 10:09 pm

Just glad you and Boz figured out who hacked your email and passwords.Right.

Typical liberal.Somebody apparently hurt your little feelings on here and then you lie and accuse the contributors on Fits of hacking your personal email accounts. You have NO credibility.

Last word on it.

SYNTwist May 7, 2015 at 10:14 pm

I am not a liberal, socially moderate bordering liberal, but fiscally I am very conservative. My view is, not need to argue about it – kinda like kids – just take the money out and the problems seem to solve themselves. What did we ever do before these ridiculous tax rates? How did we survive with a limited government?

I don’t know who hacked my email, but a very good idea. I also have a very good idea who reset the password for my alias. I also have a very good idea who sent me unsolicited emails from alwayhard….blah blah blah.

Read between the lines fc – I am not accusing a contributor….

Word.

thoughts to keep you awake at night—

The dread of loneliness is greater than the fear of bondage, so we get married.

Sex when you’re married is like going to a Seven-Eleven. There’s not as much variety, but at three in
the morning, it’s always there.

Do you know what it means to come home at night to a spouse who’ll give you a little love, a little affection, a little tenderness? It means you’re in the wrong
house, that’s what it means.

The trouble with a man marrying his mistress is that he create a job vacancy.

SYNTwist May 7, 2015 at 10:38 pm

Ha! I was never my husbands mistresses, but his first wife and had his first and only child.

He “may” relate to some of what you have said and I can relate to some, but it doesn’t keep me awake at night -I am too busy thinking about my beautiful children ;)

I’m not going to show all my cards just yet on the real trouble a man has marrying a woman, but it has more to do with responsibility v. vacancy ;) If my husband felt there was a job vacancy – I am sure he could find a replacement.

On Mothers Day, the mother of three little kids was celebrated with kisses, hugs, cheerios for breakfast in bed, dandelions from the yard, and crayon drawings.

As much as she loved it, all the activity made the house a bigger mess than usual. After a long day, she finally got the kids in bed. All she wanted to do was clean up and relax.

She put on an old gown from the back of the closet, went into the bathroom and coated her face with thick, white facial cream. Then she started washing her hair.

But the kids were not settling down. She could hear them talking, giggling, jumping on the beds.

Finally in exasperation she wrapped her head in a towel, ran into their bedroom and sternly told them to calm down and go to sleep.

After she left, she overheard the youngest one ask, “Who was that?”

My cousin in Alabama built a new guest room and his wife
insisted on furnishing and decorating it. She bought a sleep number bed that won’t allow me to change the setting. I’m comfortable, but I’ll never know if I could be more comfortable.

Nite Shifty – time for me to turn in, maybe my acct will be deleted tomorrow? :)

Nowadays, couples are likely to be living together but not lovers (husband and wife, say), or separated but still involved, or having a fling but not a
long-term affair, or living alone but married (open divorce), or divorced but still living together. The possibilities are unlimited.
——————

Relations today are so hazy that you’re likely to hear
anything at a neighborhood cocktail party.

A few years ago at party a man kept introducing the woman with him (on his, arm, in fact) as “my lady,” and nobody there knew if she was his wife, lover or cleaning woman. If he had only said “my old lady” people might at least have narrowed it down to wife
or mother or perhaps somebody he had just helped across the street.

If the guy had had simply said, “This is Ms. Glenore
Garibaldi, my lady,” we might at least have had an inkling that they were more than blind dates and yet less than master and concubine.

Nice chilling for this meaningless gesture from Donna,Fits

Anyone who has followed legislation knows nothing is going to be passed right now, except pats on the back. Plently of congratulatory legislation to go around, but meaningful bills die. Sad, simple, truth.

how about 25% of any money left over in the budget gets rebated to the taxpayers, and the other 75 can carry over in the general fund.

More of the same, let’s see, we have Hicks, Shealy and John Steinberger trying to lower taxes. Am I the only person who realizes they CANNOT lower taxes without increasing it somewhere else or taking the Government Incentives?

Where is the money going to come from? Why should we pay taxes to a FG with no return? I understand the logic, but…. poor state (SC), low income, and we refuse government incentives? Heck, I am as much against them as anyone, they come with strings attached, but when it comes to feeding my family, my children, my neighbors – hard pill to swallow in these “free markets” that are not even close, but a possibility in far distant future.

BTW watching AR (Ayn Rand) 3 – I still do not think differently. We can all think for ourselves, our families, and whatever is important to us as individuals. Enough with letting people think for us.
