The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea – a.k.a. North Korea – has decided to commemorate its latest nuclear weapons test by releasing a video showing an American metropolis engulfed in flame.
The video clip – uploaded over the weekend by Uriminzokkiri, the government’s official news site – shows a Korean man imagining himself aboard a North Korean space shuttle. Set to the tune of “We Are the World,” the video climaxes with images of a reunited Korean peninsula celebrating the destruction of New York City.
With images of the carnage lifted directly from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 …
“Somewhere in the United States, black clouds of smoke are billowing,” a caption from the video declares. “It seems that the nest of wickedness is ablaze with the fire started by itself.”
Take a look …
Awesome, right … especially the part which declares the man’s dream will “surely come true.”
Last month the United Nations voted to sanction North Korea for its most recent rocket test – conducted last December. The belligerent Asian nation has also conducted a pair of previous nuclear tests – in 2006 and 2009. This week’s test is believed to be the first using enriched uranium, however, which would represent an expansion of North Korea’s nuclear capabilities.
