WHAT AMERICAN POLITICS SHOULD LOOK LIKE …

We haven’t gone to the jukebox in awhile but one of our readers submitted an excellent new tune on our “make contact” page this week.

It’s called “Nobody Speak” – and it’s a collaboration of California rapper/ producer DJ Shadow and New York hip hop supergroup Run The Jewels.

The song is fabulous.  Sure it’s a bit explicit lyrically (so consider yourself warned) but it’s got a mile-wide hook, thumping beat and even includes a controversial reference to GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump.  Of course the real genius is the song’s music video – which depicts a roomful of old, white politicians lip-syncing to the lyrics.

Take a look …

Nice …

Filmed in New York, London and Ukraine, the clip is a reminder that even the most badass Washington, D.C. takedowns are pretty tame compared to what our politicians probably deserve.

“We wanted to make a positive, life-affirming video that captures politicians at their election-year best,” DJ Shadow said of the video.  “We got this instead.”

“It’s such a dope video,” Run The Jewels’ Killer Mike said.  “It’s what I really wish Trump and Hillary would just do and get it over with … And even in that fight I think Hillary would win – and that’s not an endorsement.”

Wait … really?

“Nobody Speak” appears on DJ Shadow’s latest album ‘The Mountain Will Fall,’ available on Mass Appeal Records.

Got a song you’d like to suggest? Let us know …
