MICK MULVANEY GETS LOVE FROM LIBERAL GOP LEADERSHIP

Ready for the latest edition of “tricks for treats,” D.C.-style?

Special interests loyal to newly elected U.S. Speaker of the House Paul Ryan are showing the love to his “conservative” aide-de-camp Mick Mulvaney of South Carolina – running ads on behalf of him and dozens of other establishment lawmakers.

The Mulvaney ad – which you can watch here – touts Mulvaney as a “conservative” who will “go to work with Speaker Ryan to balance our budget, tackle our national debt and take the fight to ISIS.”

Really?

Since when have Ryan’s budgets ever been “conservative?”

And hasn’t the failed, costly interventionist strategy pushed by the warmongering GOP actually strengthened ISIS?

Oh well.  It appears as though Mulvaney’s sellout to the GOP establishment is now complete.  Of course based on his prior support for liberal Speaker John Boehner, we shouldn’t be surprised.

“It’s official,” one prominent Washington conservative activist told us this week. “Mick Mulvaney is now one of them.”

How sad …

The love shown to Mulvaney is part of a massive $3 million national push paid for by the American Action Network – which purports to be a “center-right” think tank.  The campaign includes $350,000 in TV ads in 12 districts, $700,000 in print ads in 44 districts, $750,000 in digital ads in 70 districts and $1.2 Million in mail in 70 districts.

It’s not immediately clear how much money was expended on Mulvaney, but whatever the total was it’s clear we’re looking at a thirty pieces of silver situation.

Elected in 2010 as part of the Tea Party wave, Mulvaney is now no better than the liberal Democrat he replaced – John Spratt.

In fact he’s worse, because he promised us he was going to be different …

Corruptio optimi pessima.

Honestly we’re not sure what’s more depressing: Mulvaney’s sellout or the recent betrayal of one-time free market champion Mark Sanford (read more on that here).   Seriously, these guys were supposed to protect taxpayers by countering liberal “Republicans” Tom Rice and Joe Wilsonnot voting with them.

How can Ryan’s budgets be “conservative” when they don’t even qualify as budgets? Just a bunch of magic asterisks and hand-waving.

This isn’t new, see Arthur Laffer.

I helped on the Mulvaney campaign that put John Spratt out to pasture. At that time he seemed to be an honest forthright person with a low bullshit factor coupled with personal likability.
I would have the tendency to believe that if you go to Washington, you “have to go along to get along.” Unfortunately, that is the way it works, for both parties. I also thinks that plays into Gowdy’s desire to get back to SC and then into the court system. I think he despises the system and most of the people up there.

I asked the question a while back : Why do we work our tails off to elect conservative Republicans to office then watch as they turn into Dims ? I think you have hit on the answer. The “go along to get along” mentality must be so strong in Washington that even good people secome to it . If you notice , most of the good officials last about two terms then turn on US. Looks like another reason for term limits.

Yes, I have been hearing reports that Mulvaney is not the same independent soul that beat Spratt a few years ago.
Too bad, I guess Washington rots the soul.

THe soul is usually gone long before they get to Washington.

From what I hear, that is why Tim Scott comes home on the weekends. So as to not get involved with the good old boys.

Votes win elections and money is used to get votes, therefore simple calculus tells a RINO that money is the most important thing ever. It just so happens that special interest has lots of money. So what if this vote will raise taxes? Don’t worry, the Establishment needs this vote to remain in power and appease the special interest. This rule usually coincides with adherence to #1 where special interest greases the skids for the passage of a 1000-page bill as long as there is something that tips the scales in their favor. Unfortunately, it is easier to lobby Congress for a handout than it is for special interests to innovate.

RINO’s are more concerned with keeping power, making friends, or raising money. So governing involves politics over principle, money, and then of course, fear (don’t elect those damn Democrats).

RogueElephant December 10, 2015 at 7:48 am

Those “damn Democrats” were bought and paid for before they even went into politics. Still a few Republicans that aren’t but that number is going down as well.

Stickler Vertango December 10, 2015 at 7:57 am

Yes indeed. The ‘Trump’ factor has exposed them-the RINO Republicans.

Total bullshit. This is merely an attempt by the nutcases to redefine Conservatism, in their own warped image.

Attempt? December 9, 2015 at 3:58 pm

They’ve already done that successfully. The conservative movement that cared about the financial well being of the country and keeping government out of our daily lives as much as possible is dead and gone. Now it’s corporate welfare, endless wars, and banning gays and Muslims from anything and everything.

Trump and neocons aren’t Conservatives. Con-artists, yes, Conservatives, no.

So, if the Ryans and Mulvaneys of the world do the same exact shit as the liberal Democrats do, they are still “conservative” because they say they are? Or is it because they have the “R” next to their name rather than a “D” that makes them conservative?

No wonder transvestites and transsexuals are gaining so much traction in society. “If I say that I’m something, it is necessarily a fact that I am.”

I need to run for now. I’m an airplane and I want to go fly around for a while before it gets dark.

Ryan and Mulvaney don’t do the same shit as the liberal Democrats do. And what libertarians propose, is not Conservative ideology. It is absolute nonsense to assert, as Folks and his sycophants do, that Ryan/Mulvaney = Pelosi/Clyburn. Inside the Republican Party, the so called Freedom Caucus is a lunatic fringe representing 5% of the membership. Which is about right, as it represents about 2% of national opinion. Calling Ryan and Mulvaney is not only factually incorrect, it is stupid.

“And hasn’t the failed, costly interventionist strategy pushed by the warmongering GOP actually strengthened ISIS?”-FITS News

What? The GOP can push strategy all they want but it is the Executive branch that executes policy. I couldn’t care less about defending the Rs but this is Obama’s failures in this case. The only thing Congress could try is cutting off the money at risk of “not supporting our troops”.

It was 2015 and South Carolina’s gutless RINO members of the RINO U.S. House were partying well

They’d ALL (except Jeff Duncan) voted for Obama-Door-Mat-Boehner
to blow conservatives to…

This dishonor roll of gutless, lying scumbags included Trey-Sure-I-Gave-Obama-Fast Track-Gowdy to start

Then there was Mick-What’s-In-It-For-ME-Mulvaney who piled on conservatives to play his back-stabbing part

And let’s not leave out Tom-Sure-I’m-A-Flaming-Lib-Rice who’d sell his grandma’s jugular for personal gain

And who can forget Mark-I-Walked-Out-On-My-Wife-And-Four-Sons-Sanford—serial adulterer with no brain

Rounding out this cast of dirtbags is arrogant flag-ripping I-Lie-To-Conservatives-Joe Wilson himself

Doesn’t give a *amn about NOT letting YOU vote on the flag because he IS a RINO Lilliputian elf

So these RINO scum are STILL betting on the come by voting for FELLOW RINO Paul Ryan as well

Let-In-30-MILLION-MORE-Illegals-Ryan…meeting back-door with Obama—telling you to go to…

But then 2016 rolled in with a roaring Tea Party win and all of the above RINOs had to leave town fast

Don’t look now you ingrates but that political fire you smell burning?…the last of your gutless RINO… !!!

I wish someone would publish in here what a Conservative wants or their agenda.I consider myself moderately Conservative. I realize every person has different thoughts and agenda’s. I personally like Mulvaney,Sanford as Republicans. I do not like Rice my Representative. Put your agenda out Will and the rest of you. I would like to see what you want and where these fellows go wrong.
Here are some of my wishes:
Balanced Budget, rid of Government waste, smaller DC work force, instead of bringing poor old foreign women and children in America raise the ones we abort. Instead of spending $500 Million to train 5 foreign fighters spend that on our troops and veterans.
Instead of filling American jobs with foreigners fill them with some of the 94 Million Americans that have left the work force.Quit complaining about poor foreign folks help the 46 million Americans living in poverty and the 47 million on Food Stamps.
The Democrats beat Republicans by giving away everything and encouraging folks onto the government dole. I want some one to stand up and tell America that we are a Constitutional Republic, not a Democracy or Monarchy. No wonder we have a 19 trillion Dollar deficit,we have given America away to foreigners and the lazy in America!
