West Columbia, S.C. mayor Joe Owens – who was accused last month of dropping the “N-word” – was defeated in his bid for reelection this week.
Former mayor Bobby Horton – who preceded Owens in office – won his old job back with 55 percent of the vote. Owens got just 28 percent.
Controversy has followed Owens ever since he took office four years ago. Last year, for example, we filed this report on a dispute in which he told his rivals he would fight them “till I am sh*tty as a bull.”
“We are going to find out who has the hairiest balls,” Owens added.
