BILLIONAIRE MOGUL HEADS BACK TO PALMETTO STATE
|| By FITSNEWS || Billionaire real estate mogul and reality television star Donald Trump (a.k.a. “The Donald”) will pay another visit to early-voting South Carolina this weekend.
And yes, he’ll be arriving and departing in his $100 million private jet …
The flamboyant deal-maker – who made waves at last month’s S.C. Tea Party Coalition convention in Myrtle Beach, S.C. – will be the guest of honor at an event on the campus of The Citadel, the Palmetto State’s venerable military institution. Specifically, Trump will be the guest of honor at the Patriot Dinner – an annual fundraising event held by The Citadel Republican Society.
Trump will be honored “for his work as a legendary business leader and philanthropist,” a news release from the school noted.
U.S. Senator Tim Scott will appear alongside Trump.
During his last visit to South Carolina, Trump didn’t mince words regarding his thoughts on the 2016 “Republican” presidential field. He slammed former GOP nominee Mitt Romney – who at the time was mulling a 2016 candidacy but has since withdrawn his name from consideration. He also had less-than-kind words for former Florida governor Jeb Bush.
He later told convention-goers that the other GOP candidates in the race “didn’t stand a chance” against likely Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.
Does this mean Trump – who flirted with a presidential bid prior to the 2012 “Republican” primary – will jump into the race?
It’s not clear yet … although the 68-year-old recently told Fox News his presidential interest was “much more than five” on a scale of one to ten.
The latest South Carolina polls show Wisconsin governor Scott Walker and home state U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham leading the pack of presidential contenders, although the field is far from set.
