We’ve never heard of the (Tumblr) website America Rising, but it’s got a pretty hard-to-argue-against pop against S.C. Senator Vincent Sheheen (D-Camden), who is running for governor against incumbent “Republican” Nikki Haley.
Hours after bashing Haley for traveling out of state on campaign business, Sheheen … wait for it … traveled out of state on campaign business.
The only problem?
Business wasn’t booming.
FITS tweeted out a photo yesterday evening of the sparse crowd associated with Sheheen’s event – which was held at the Highland Brewing Company in Asheville, N.C. – but America Rising has the video from the event.
And it’s bad. Take a look …

Wow … ouch.
Obviously Sheheen has a long way to go to match Haley when it comes to hypocrisy (and unlike Haley he was kind enough not to bill taxpayers for this campaign appearance) … but still. Facing a huge fundraising disadvantage, Sheheen needs to do a much better job filling rooms like this.
He also needs to do a better job not being a hypocrite … even if he is running against the biggest hypocrite this state has ever elected.

There are so many good people in South Carolina. The problem is so few of them are running for public office. Then again, can you blame them?

Sheheen is nothing but a puppet for the remains of the white elite of the SC Democratic Party. He’s pathetic. I’m not a Haley fan, but this guy is creepy boring and controlled. Even with all the confirmed corruption and dishonesty proven about Jean Toal, he and his legislative bff, James Smith, are supporting her. So unfortunate.
