FITS’ cameras captured an exclusive photo of former Charleston County councilman Curtis “Big Government” Bostic voting in today’s special primary election for the South Carolina first congressional district.

Where is he? Is this a joke?
Yes … and no.
Bostic couldn’t vote for himself in today’s election because – as FITS reported exclusively last month – he’s not a resident of the first congressional district. Instead Bostic resides in the sixth congressional district, which is represented by U.S. Rep. Jim Clyburn.
So you won’t see a photo of him casting his ballot today because he’s not eligible to vote in the election …

Then I am confused. How do you run for an office in a district you do not even live in?
Pretty easy to understand. Any citizen of the State of South Carolina can run for the US House of Representatives…in any district in the state. In other words you can run anywhere you want for a seat in the US House. There are no district lines where candidates are concerned.

MJ – The United States Constitution states that members of Congress need only live in the state they represent. In fact there is no requirement whatsoever that state create separate geographic districts for members of Congress; they are considered representatives of the state as a whole.
