YES … AND IT’S AN “EMERGENCY”

Little did we know how perfectly one of the contemporary movement’s “leaders” would validate our conclusion. We’re referring of course to Al Sharpton, the black leader who among other ludicrous suppositions believes racism is to blame for his inability to pay his taxes.
Anyway, in his latest attempt to foment misplaced outrage Sharpton has turned his attention to Hollywood.
Specifically, the not-so-good “Reverend” is livid that the Oprah Winfrey movie “Selma” – a biopic of the life and times of King – did not receive Oscar nominations in the categories of “Best Actor” and “Best Director” from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
The movie was nominated for “Best Picture” (which it will probably now win as a result of this outcry), but that wasn’t good enough for Sharpton.
“The lack of diversity in today’s Oscar nominations is appalling and while it is good that Selma was nominated for ‘Best Picture,’ it’s ironic that they nominated a story about the racial shutout around voting while there is a racial shutout around the Oscar nominations,” he said. “With all of the talent in Selma and other black movies this year, it is hard to believe that we have less diversity in the nominations today than in recent history.”
Wait … black movies?
Moving past that blatantly racist statement …
“The movie industry is like the Rocky Mountains,” Sharpton said. “The higher you get, the whiter it gets. I have called an emergency meeting early next week in Hollywood with the task force to discuss possible action around the Academy Awards.”
Wow … an “emergency meeting?” Really?
Here’s the evolution of a movement in a nutshell: King and his contemporaries protested racist laws and marched against racist, billy club-wielding police officers. Sharpton? He’s protesting the fact that a movie depicting the sacrifices of King and his contemporaries didn’t get enough award nominations.
Ridiculous.
What should Sharpton be proposing? Judging by the numbers … the administration of Barack Obama.
Of course that’s never going to happen … just as Sharpton and his far left allies will never march for academic freedom for black children stuck in failing, government-run schools.
Don’t worry, though. Obama will address Selma’s “snub” by hosting a private screening of the movie at the White House on the evening of Friday, January 16.

Al Sharpton is a racist hit man. He looks for marks, hits them, and then if they don’t contribute to one of his tax shelters, aka as “non profits”/charities, he takes them out by stoking the flames of his plantation negroes.

I have seen one movie that was nominated for best picture, The Grand Budapest Hotel. It was OK. Sure wouldn’t rank it as a contender for best film of any year.

Mississippi Burning was already nominated for Best Picture (as well as Best Actor, Supporting Actress, and Director) in 1989, so STFU. A more modern reference, and perhaps a better flick, would be “SCPSD Burning.” HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
