Unplugging? We wish …

It used to be this news site wasn’t a news site … it was more of a hobby blog.  Something we could turn on and off as we saw fit.

Those were the days …

Years ago, our founding editor Will Folks could completely shutdown FITSNews.com for weeks on end while he vacationed with his growing family at various points along the state of South Carolina’s gorgeous grand strand.

Some wish he still would …

Alas … all vacations are working vacations these days, especially this one.

There are two high-profile “Republican” runoff elections scheduled for June 26.  The day after that, state lawmakers will return to Columbia, S.C. for a special session to deal with the state budget and the ongoing #NukeGate debacle – which remains totally unresolved.

So yeah … we will be posting quite a bit over the next twelve days even as our founding editor soaks up the sun on North Litchfield Beach.

Wait a minute… who schedules a two-week vacation during the busiest season in Palmetto politics?

Yeah … we were asking ourselves the same thing, although if you think that’s funny wait until you read a forthcoming item about one of the key players in the upcoming 2018 South Carolina gubernatorial runoff election.

This person’s scheduling makes our vacation plans look downright brilliant by comparison …

Anyway, we will obviously be in saddle for the duration of the runoff elections … so don’t hesitate to ping us with anything you think we ought to write about.  Response times may vary, but we remain committed to providing our readers with news and commentary on these upcoming races (not to mention the legislative battles that loom on the horizon).

And speaking of horizons …

Yeah … gorgeous …

As we are wont to say, ‘developing.”
