Columbia, SC – On Thursday, February 23, Americans for Affordable Products (AAP), a coalition of well over 100 businesses and trade associations united to stop the Border Adjustment Tax (BAT), and its resulting higher prices on everyday necessities, will host a press conference at 11:00 am at the South Carolina State House to draw attention to the policy’s negative impact on South Carolina consumer.  The press event will feature keynote speakers from across the state and will call on Senators Tim Scott, Lindsey Graham and the entire South Carolina delegation to oppose the policy. Senator Scott recently said “it’s going to be very difficult to get it through the Senate.

If enacted, BAT could increase prices on a wide range of basic, everyday items like food, gas and clothing.
