SC Planned Parenthood Committee Is Meeting Again …

WILL IT DO ANYTHING THIS TIME? Remember the S.C. House of Representatives committee charged with “investigating” Planned Parenthood in the Palmetto State? You’re forgiven if you can’t recall … Like most of the “pro-life” movement in South Carolina, this committee – appointed by liberal S.C. Speaker of the House Jay Lucas…

WILL IT DO ANYTHING THIS TIME?

Remember the S.C. House of Representatives committee charged with “investigating” Planned Parenthood in the Palmetto State?

You’re forgiven if you can’t recall …

Like most of the “pro-life” movement in South Carolina, this committee – appointed by liberal S.C. Speaker of the House Jay Lucasdid absolutely nothing.  How come?  Probably because Lucas put a fellow liberal, S.C. Rep. Gary Clary of Anderson, S.C., in charge of the panel.

Clary “opposed this investigation from the beginning,” according to one of his colleagues.

The only state legislator who has consistently and aggressively fought against Planned Parenthood’s fetal body parts holocaust?  S.C. Rep. Donna Hicks of Spartanburg – who has also been leading the opposition to controversial refugee resettlements supported by S.C. governor Nikki Haley.

Imagine that … a “Republican” actually standing for the GOP platform.  Crazy, huh?

Yup.  GOP lawmakers who do what they say they’re going to do are regularly called “crazy” in Columbia, S.C.

Hicks, incidentally, is leading the effort to defund Planned Parenthood in South Carolina – and while her legislation is supported by Lucas, it’s not clear whether the Speaker is serious about the issue or just playing politics.

Guess we’ll find out when lawmakers reconvene next week at the S.C. State House.

As for Clary, his committee is meeting again … also next week (.pdf notice here).

Will it do anything this time?

We’re not holding our breath …

Lawmakers should not waste taxpayer time or money on pointless committee hearings.  They should, however, unite around Hicks’ bill.

Stop talking, start acting.

Ironic that countless hours and funds are spent bitching about unborn children while thousands and thousands of born children in South Carolina go hungry every day, are abused daily, are given a third world education and die as a result of bureaucratic ignorance

Fuckin’ Cockroaches will fight to the death, i.e. near death, for the unknown but will turn a blind eye to reality less than a few miles from the steps of the State Capitol

Sons of bitches are worthless than tits on a boar hog

As long as there are liberals and Democrats there will be hungry children, abused children and failed state controlled schools.

Just a question however. If it is legal for a society/ mother to kill her own child and throw it away they garbage in the womb, why then would you think society/mother would give a shit about taking care of that child after it’s born?

Slippery slope my friend. We reap what we sow with abortion as a community.

so if you force her to have a child, she is going to magically give a shit?

A mother that would kill her own child doesn’t give a shit about herself. Are you suggesting the mother should be terminated as well?

Always eager to go to the extreme. Surprised you didn’t suggest that she eat it.

Extreme? Killing babies is extreme.Selling their baby parts are extreme.

For the record, all investigations around the nation to date have determined that no “baby parts” have been “sold.” Clary’s Ad Hoc Committee cannot investigate this charge since no clinic in SC participated in the fetal tissue donation program.

What they may investigate is violation of TRAP laws (Targeted Regulation of Abortion Providers) — requirements that are different and more burdensome than those imposed on other medical practices. The requirement that fetal tissue be buried or incinerated, rather than treated as other medical waste is one example.

Sure. That is why PP Director “Ma” Richards announced they would no longer sell baby parts.

The Planned Parenthood abortion business has announced it will stop accepting financial payments for the body parts from aborted babies. The abortion giant has been exposed in a series of undercover videos discussing how it sells aborted babies and their body parts for profit and breaks multiple federal laws to do so.

I think I see your problem. You are getting your information from places like Life News and World Net Daily, and are incapable of independent thought. A living example of confirmation bias. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Confirmation_bias

Let’s try the Wall Street Journal:

Planned Parenthood Federation of America said it will immediately stop accepting reimbursements for supplying fetal tissue for medical research, an attempt to tamp down a controversy that has led to Republican investigations in Congress and an effort to end federal funding.

You my friend are a ‘living example’ of pure evil.Your support and advocacy of the destruction of the most vulnerable in our society-the unborn-could only be derived from being sic and without a soul.

Is there really a source on one side of this issue or another that doesn’t exhibit confirmation bias?

I don’t think it’s necessarily in dispute that PP wasn’t doing anything illegal, per se. It’s just a matter of whether they should be funded and whether or not it should be a matter of policy to take away their currently lawful incentives to perform as many terminations of viable pregnancies as possible. That there was money that exchanged hands over fetal parts is clear AND that it is lawful to do so with the mother’s consent is, as well. Whether that’s right or wrong is the question, not whether we can use sources that confirm or deny our biases over the details.

Any government funding of Planned Parenthood is “fee for service” whether under the Title X family planning program or under Medicaid. In this respect, it is a medical services provider no different than any county health department.

No Medicaid funding is provided for abortion services unless it meets the restrictions of the Hyde Amendment.

Your allegation about “incentives to perform as many terminations of viable pregnancies as possible” is not borne out in my experience. The PPFA affiliate where I served as a volunteer Board member for over thirty years consistently referred more women for prenatal care than for abortions after confirmation of pregnancy. Many referrals were made to Birthright and to Florence Crittenden Home for Unwed Mothers.

Our affiliate (which never performed abortions) considered every abortion as a type of failure to receive meaningful sex education or failure to have access to affordable, effective contraception. By also lobbying the legislature to improve matters in these areas, I am confident I prevented more abortions than any of the clinic picketers and sidewalk shame-shouters at the non-PP clinics.

Yep. It’s just a hypocritical “Christain” call to arms. Force a teenage girl to give birth to the baby, and then denegrate her when she needs WIC and EBT assistance. They’re so “Christian.”

If we didn’t have to give subsidies to NON citizens for their Obamacare we might have some additional monies for young children.

Thankfully you have no concept of the Christian faith so your opinion is moot.
