… IS THE CEDING OF CONGRESSIONAL AUTHORITY TO AN UNRESTRAINED EXECUTIVE BRANCH OF GOVERNMENT

|| By FITSNEWS || Our friend Rick Manning of the group Americans for Limited Government has a great column on Fox News this week delving into the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)’s “Orange River Conspiracy.”

Manning delves into some of the conspiracy theories surrounding the EPA’s (intentional?) polluting of the Animas River in Colorado, but the main thrust of his piece is constitutional – zeroing in on how the EPA is refusing to provide Congress with documents related to the environmental disaster it caused.

“Having a representative government means government is supposed to be subservient to the people’s elected representatives,” Manning wrote.  “It does not mean allowing unelected mega-bureaucrats to continue acting with impunity – increasingly in direct contravention of the law.”

“Americans want to know: Will Congress finally take a stand against bureaucratic lawlessness? Or will it continue ceding its authority to an administration that has shown nothing but contempt for our laws,” Manning added.

This is precisely the narrative advanced by U.S. Rep. Ken Buck of Colorado … just a few days before the spill.

Buck announced the creation of an Article I Caucus – a group of lawmakers dedicated to reasserting congressional authority in the face of “decades of regulatory overreach and judicial activism.”

Good for him …

The real “Orange River Conspiracy?” That our nation is run by an executive branch of government which refuses to bind itself to the laws passed by Congress.  And, upon running afoul of those laws, refuses to accept the accountability imposed upon it by the people’s representatives.

Props to Manning for making this critical point …

I just put on my aluminum foil hat and now starting to feel the vibes of this massive conspiracy. But why are the vibes clearer when I turned towards Charleston?
