FITSNewsAMERICA NOW BOMBING THE REBELS IT PREVIOUSLY FUNDED …
By FITSNews || With congressional authorization in his back pocket, U.S. president Barack Obama stepped up American military aggression against the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) this week.
Already fighting ISIS in Iraq, Obama this week extended the military offensive to Syria – where as recently as six months ago Americans were arming forces linked to the terrorist network.
Flip, flop …
And while America’s military brass are already proclaiming the “success” of the first round of airstrikes, make no mistake: It will be impossible for the United States to defeat ISIS without American troops being sent into these countries (a.k.a. “boots on the ground“). That’s especially true in Syria, where one of America’s most important “allies” in the new War on Terror recently signed a non-aggression pact with ISIS.
America has been funneling arms into Syria for months in the hopes of ousting the administration of president Bashar al-Assad.
How’s that effort been going? Not well …
“The CIA training of the rebels thus far has resulted in a direct pipeline of weapons from ‘vetted moderates’ to the al-Qaeda affiliated al-Nusra Front and to the very ISIS that the administration claims to be fighting,” former U.S. Rep. Ron Paul wrote this week. “In July, a full brigade of 1,000 fighters from a US-backed rebel group joined ISIS! Of course they took their US-provided weapons and training with them, some of which will certainly be used against the rapidly increasing US military personnel in the region.”
But hey … let’s keep sending weapons, troops and money to the Middle East with no real strategy beyond feeding the insatiable war gods.
What could possibly go wrong, right?
