EDISTO, SC – Lowcountry businessman and independent U.S. Senate candidate Thomas Ravenel responded today to incumbent “Republican” Lindsey Graham’s assertion that running for the U.S. Senate was “not a reality television show.”

Ravenel, star of the Bravo TV show ‘Southern Charm, said Graham was part of a much costlier “reality TV” show.

“The difference between my reality TV show and Lindsey Graham’s reality TV show is simple: his is costing taxpayers trillions of dollars – and thousands of American lives,” Ravenel said. “And unlike my show, you can’t change the channel when his show comes on – and you can’t stop paying for it either.”

Ravenel added, “I’ll take ‘Southern Charm’ over Lindsey Graham’s ‘Adventures in Nation Building’ any day of the week, and so would most taxpayers.”

Ravenel said he would be launching a new competition on his website – – in which South Carolinians could submit their own names for Graham’s reality show.
