Where Is Craig Mack?

Rapper Craig Mack was born in Trenton, New Jersey and raised in Brentwood (always up ta no good), Long Island. In his early twenties, he had a Top Ten Billboard hit with “Flavor In Ya Ear,” a collaboration with the Notorious B.I.G., LL Cool J and Busta Rhymes on Puff Daddy’s Bad Boy Entertainment label.

What’s Mack been up to lately? According to his Wikipedia page, Mack “currently resides in Walterboro, South Carolina.”

Of course that’s not the whole story. According to Black Media Scoop, Mack is in a bad way. Specifically, he has fallen under the influence of the Overcomer Ministry – a Walterboro-based cult led by 80-year-old radio preacher Ralph Gordon Stair (a.k.a. “Brother Stair”).

“Craig Mack is dead. We have somebody that used to be Craig Mack and he didn’t join anything. God joined him!” Stair proclaimed in a bizarre 2012 video taken from inside the compound.

The video shows the 42-year-old Mack jumping up and down like a child, telling Stair he used to practice “wickedness” but now practices “righteousness.”

Take a look …

(Click to play)

“This video was posted last year,” Black Media Scoop notes. “We’ve learned Craig Mack is still a member of a Walterboro, South Carolina religious cult and living on their gated compound against the wishes of his family.”

Stair – who is said to control the finances of his members – is a shady fellow. In 2002, he pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a pair of female compound members – aged 18 and 20. Law enforcement previously investigated infant deaths at the compound, although they uncovered no evidence of wrongdoing.

Ah, religious freedom …

In fact as much as it probably pains Mack’s family and fans to hear, there is little anyone can – or should – do to disrupt these bizarre groups. “Brother Stair” – whose apocalyptic predictions have all failed to come true – is clearly an evil, manipulative individual. He’s the definition of a false prophet, as far as we’re concerned – continuing to preach in God’s name even after he vowed to “tell God to go to hell” over a decade ago for not ending the world prior to the year 2000.

Having said that, if people are stupid enough to follow “preachers” like Stair – that’s their decision. And they are free to make it …

Mass mental illness on display….so sad.

I’m not sure this preacher is a jackal either, sometimes these charismatics believe everything they are saying and lost souls looking for guidance in their lives from people that seem sure of everything are drawn to them like moths to a flame.

Ugh….religion.

The preacher looks like a crazed hillbilly, it surely is a wonder why his predictions have not come true.

Smirks, I think I bought some used hubcaps for a Thunderbird convertible from this guy at a roadside stand.

Yeah. Drag his butt off of this compound where he is definitely in ‘danger’ of finding God and put him back into the ‘music’ industry where he can be properly guided by peers to ‘…put a cap in dat PoPo..’, ‘…tap dat azz…’ and ‘slap dat biatch’. Such a terrible thing to see this poor soul lost at a ( :P :P :P) Church.

Frank, why isn’t he “sanging” – I noticed that there is no choir.

Obviously I’m not for infringing on him or those people in any way…but rap is just words…a lot of rap has a negative message…some doesn’t.

There are comedians or social commenters in other media that put equally “negative” messages(to some). George Carlin for example.

Craig Mack was a talented musician in that he sold albums that people bought voluntarily.

Now he doesn’t do that but instead sits on his ass watching this oldster jump up and down proclaiming the “truth”….it’s sad.

LOL!! With all due respect to Sic, somehow I just don’t opine of he having the same intellect as Carlin – and no insult intended, just sayin’.

Again, no offense, just an observation!

Colonel, I’ve never heard of these guys, either the preacher or the rapper. (Sort of reminds me of a very old wax record my Granddad had called, “The Photograper and the Stenographer”).

Stair could be heard on shortwave broadcast radio back before the looming Y2K “disaster”. As I seem to recall, he was offering refuge to the faithful and would let them stay at his compound, IF they pledged themselves and their souls to his belief system.
