An as-yet-unnamed multimillionaire is contemplating a self-funded bid for mayor of Columbia, S.C., multiple sources tell FITS.
The mystery candidate will announce his decision soon, we’re told.
“He’s willing to spend whatever it takes,” one source familiar with the candidate’s plans tells FITS.
Incumbent mayor Steve Benjamin is already facing a pair of challengers in this November’s election – former Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) analyst Larry Sypolt and city councilman Moe Baddourah.
