Don’t think a “recalibration” is required. I doubt Trump’s endorsement has any real meaning in this race. If it does affect how you vote, you’re probably too dumb to be voting…
Unfirtunately Colonel, there are a lot in that category out there. Your statement is still very much, true.
The fact that you know doubt and dumb have a b in them shows you are not the typical Trump supporter. But dum is strong with the cult, and his endorsement will matter to them.
South Carolinians have always been a proud and independent people. They don’t like outsiders telling them how to think or what to do. Look no further than the state taking the lead in rejecting British tyranny in 1775 or secession from what they considered an oppressive Federal government in 1860. Their relationship with the Federal government in the last century also offers numerous other examples.
The recent attempt by the Trump administration to tell the state how it should apportion its Congressional districts did not sit well. Now coming on its heals this attempt by Trump to promote not only his preference for Governor but Lieutenant Governor as well will not be welcomed by many. Think of it, a New Yorker telling a South Carolinian that they should. elect an Ohioan as their Governor.
