Hillary Clinton: What (Also) Happened

Former Democratic presidential nominee’s book is struggling …

As we noted last week, former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton has a book out explaining – from her perspective anyway – why she lost the 2016 presidential election.

According to Clinton, she got beat because independent socialist U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders invoked a scene from the 1998 Farrelly Brothers movie There’s Something About Mary.

That’s obviously insane … but it seems like it would make for interesting reading.

Apparently not.  Clinton’s book has yet to hit shelves, but mega-retailers Amazon and Walmart have already slashed the asking price for the memoir from $30.00 to $17.99.

Uh-oh …

Last Friday, the satirists over at The Onion mocked Clinton by suggesting she was working on another book, What Also Happened, to explain the failure of her first book.

“From my agent negotiating that underwhelming deal with Simon & Schuster, to the graphic designer’s lackluster cover art, to my so-called supporters who couldn’t be bothered to drop $17.99 for the hardcover copy – everyone had a hand in undermining my last book’s success,” The Onion‘s authors wrote, channeling Clinton.

Too funny …

Frankly, we’re waiting for the ebonics edition of Clinton’s narrative, “See What Had Happened Was.”  That would be an interesting read!

Maybe one reason Clinton’s book is struggling to sell copies is that people already know “what happened.”

Clinton lost for one reason and one reason only: She’s a criminal …
