After receiving significant pressure from those who love life and desire to see pre-born persons protected in South Carolina, Senator Luke Rankin has assigned S. 217, The Personhood Act of SC, to a subcommittee. Though the assigned chair of the subcommittee has opposed personhood legislation in the past, three of the five members of the subcommittee are co-sponsors of the bill! We are hopeful that through a significant public show of support and good testimony, the subcommittee will vote favorably to move S217 back to the full Senate Judiciary Committee.

We need you there at the Statehouse! We encourage you to be present for the subcommittee meeting next Thursday, March 30, at 9:30 a.m. in Gressette Building, Room 308. Your presence will make a huge impact!

If you are unable to make it but still want to be involved, please pray for those who will testify to the importance of personhood legislation and for the following five senators who make up the subcommittee: Margie Bright Matthews (chair), Mike Gambrell, Mia S. McLeod, Rex Rice, and Scott Talley.

Sincerely,
Personhood SC Board
