SOUTH CAROLINA GOVERNOR WEIGHS IN ON TRUMP’S IMMIGRATION STATEMENTS
|| By FITSNEWS || South Carolina governor Nikki Haley – whose national star is ascending in the aftermath of the Confederate flag’s requiem – passed up a chance to diss newly minted GOP presidential frontrunner Donald Trump regarding his comments on immigration.
In fact she said she related to his “frustration” on the issue.
That’s significant given Haley’s status as the daughter of Indian immigrants …
“I understand his frustration,” Haley told NBC’s Chuck Todd on Sunday. “The frustration that he has about illegal immigration a lot of people have. The difference is we need to be very conscious of our tone. We need to be very conscious of how we communicate. There are a lot of legal immigrants that have made this country the place it is today. We need to make sure that we’re always communicating in a way that’s got respect and dignity.”
That’s actually a pretty impressive answer …
On the one hand, Haley identified with the anger fueling Trump’s “say anything” surge in the polls – yet on the other hand she threw a bone to the PC Police who are seeking to crucify the billionaire real estate mogul.

Haley remains highly unlikely to lend Trump her coveted endorsement (what a difference four years makes), but Todd gave her an opportunity to stick a knife in his back – and she didn’t.
That’s a sure sign Trump’s message is resonating among “Republicans” in early-voting South Carolina the same way it’s resonating among GOP voters across the country.

its not surprising that legal immigrants and their children do not support illegal immigration clemency. They worked hard and long for the right to join our nation. its a slap in the face of law abiding naturalized US citizens everywhere to just give it away for free to law breaking trespassers
It was interesting that after Haley appeared on Meet the Press, Maria Hinajosa was critical of her for not saying she abhorred Trump’s statements.

Why be surprised that she takes two sides of the immigration issue. She does that on all policy issues depending polling.The gas tax and flag are just the two latest.

Haley’s past cannot withstand a competent investigative journalist. Let’s hope she stays in the VEEP spotlight long enough for the media to rediscover Larry, Will, Tim and the others who hit it back when it was worth the price of a couple of vodka tonics.
