SC God Cops Wants To Shut Down Greenville Strip Club

VICE SQUAD AT WORK!

|| By FITSNEWS || Crusading moralists in the socially conservative South Carolina Upstate are trying to shut down a strip club for being a “public nuisance” – stepping up their attacks against a facility they’ve repeatedly raided in recent weeks.

The charge aims to shut down the Platinum Plus strip club in Greenville, S.C., a facility undercover that’s received tens of thousands of dollars from undercover police officers as part of an ongoing “investigation.”

“We have asked the judge to shut them down pending a merits trial and that’s what we’re waiting for the judge to rule on,” a local solicitor said last week, according to WLOS TV 13 (Asheville, N.C.).

According to prosecutors, strippers at the club are engaging in prostitution – and performing sex acts on customers (and fellow strippers) inside the club.

Our answer to that?  So what

As we’ve said repeatedly, prostitution should be decriminalized in South Carolina (and all over the country).  Especially in a state as dirt poor as the Palmetto State.

But even under current law, how does one prostitution bust over the club’s fourteen-year history constitute a “public nuisance?”

Ridiculous …

An exceptional and thoughtful post, GT. It’s no wonder you’re so effective. Everyone else on here is just full of hate, doing nothing but blabbering a bunch of deranged and unhinged diatribes. I appreciate your maturity and ability to expound the truth in a professional manner.

He just laughs at you clowns.You,troublebaby/dipshit,grandtangoesuglydog and Rocky spend all day chasing this brilliant man around and he pounds the dog shit out of a on EVERY subject….

Daniel Boome April 29, 2015 at 11:20 am

Yes, he does. With civil, professional, and stimulating responses. Also, he makes sure to always address the point at hand and never lets anyone get him off topic. That’s hard to do when you’re the only rational engager among a sea of menaces.

Daniel Boome April 29, 2015 at 6:41 pm

Holy cow, I swear I thought you were being facetious about this earlier today. I thought at the time that I would just play along.

If you actually read any of my interactions with GT, you would know it’s not possible for him to “pound the dog shot out of” me on any “subject”. Why? Because I don’t discuss “subjects” with him. I’m a bread and butter conservative who hates liberalism. Why, then, can’t I get along with him? Simply put, it is the fact that he is nothing more than a menace and he uses standard liberal tactics in trying to make points, all the while proclaiming to hated liberals. He is nothing more than a mockery and he has no effectiveness regarding anything “conservative”. His schtick is nothing more than profane diatribes worthy of the thugs rioting in Baltimore. I’ve called him out for it numerous times and gotten nothing more than obfuscation and self-righteous derangement. If you want to call that “pounding the dog shit out of me” then you are just as pathetic as he is. He does nothing more than further liberal caricatures of conservatives. Rocky and the others will have different reasons for engaging him, but mine are solely based on exposing him for the despicable menace and human being that he is. You are defending the indefensible.

lol…fair enough.

If one day we “progress” to the stage of mandating plebs like myself refer to our elected masters by title only, I’m most likely headed to jail at some point.

Although that’s probably already the case in a courtroom when addressing the judge.(although it’s contempt codified, not title if I understand properly)

I suppose they will give you latitude if you refer to them as “Your Honor” instead of “judge”. Maybe you could even get away with “Your Magnificence” or “Your Eminence”…but at some point in time you’re gonna be hit with contempt of court I suppose if you push it too far.

“Clown in a gown” is probably going to far.

Raisin Head Wilkins April 28, 2015 at 5:18 pm

Honestly, that’s the worst strip club I’ve ever been to (outside of Heartbreakers). Talent was weak, and the cover was high. Probably had to collect as much at door as possible because the “entertainers” weren’t being tipped.

Sex work should absolutely be decriminalized. If it were, we could all work from home, with a much smaller footprint, instead of out of an exploitative club environment where management takes a cut of our fees and we actually pay to work (house fees, stage fees, tip outs), all gathered together in what spot to make what politicians claim a “public nuisance.”

Also, the writer always sees flaws in her words. I’ve got to work on that, too!

The problem is not so much the alleged sex acts as the two murders that occurred. One was perpetrated by a bouncer. That gets LE’s attention. A few years back another Greenville strip club was closed when LE protested their liquor license based on the long list of times LE had been called in due to assault. battery, etc. that occurred there.
Also where did you come up with tens of thousands of dollars being spent by undercover LE in this place?

Reply
vicupstate April 29, 2015 at 9:01 am

Yeah, FITS didn’t even do a cursory amount of research before writing this crap. The cops get called to this place a lot, and there were the two murders.

You can debate whether these places should be legal, but the law is the law, until it is changed. If this place isn’t a nuisance, then no place is.

Should every hotel where more than one murder has occurred be closed? How about mall parking lots, urban parking decks, etc.?

Reply
vicupstate April 29, 2015 at 1:03 pm

If two murders, one of which was committed by an employee, and a multitude of other crimes occurred at a particular motel, then yes. It wouldn’t be the first time that was done either.

Lap dances with “extras” are NOT cheap. Nor are the drinks they bought, plus tips. On the public dime. Let’s face it, these guys party. DO they get their rocks off, or not? They’ll never tell. But SOMETHING kept them returning to that club again and again, to partake of what it offers, or is alleged to offer, and to “raid” it.

If Wilkins really wants to shut them down, just enforce employment laws.

I’m guessing he’s a Republican, and doesn’t want to be seen as supporting workers.

Reply
CNSYD April 28, 2015 at 8:04 pm

I believe you will find that the strippers are working as self employed contractors and thus are responsible for their own taxes, FICA, etc. The strippers have to pay the bouncers, dee jay, etc. via a fee called a “tip out”.

Reply
Chelsea Lane April 30, 2015 at 1:09 am

This is actually a big issue right now – the idea that strippers are improperly classified as independent contractors. There’s a highly publicized (locally, anyways) lawsuit in Portland where one of the grievances is that the dancers were treated as employees, but not given any of the benefits of employee status. Classifying the dancers as independents rather than employees allows management to further exploit them through the fees you mentioned.

Maybe Greenville will some of those body camera’s so we can see what police officers are investigating?

“The bill would set up a fund to pay for body cameras and give state law enforcement officials six months to work out the details of how they should be used. The Senate’s budget-writing committee has set aside $3.4 million to fund it, enough to buy 2,000 cameras and store data. Buying cameras for the roughly 12,000 law enforcement officers in the state would cost an estimated $30 million, not including data storage and maintenance.”

When I was in college 20 years ago.. it was called Characters… I remember some poor guy getting sucker punched and falling unconscious on the hard floor…he hit the floor like a ton of bricks and his head smacked the ground with a sickening thud…He lapsed into unconsciousness and the lights were immediately turned on and the bouncers and cops swarmed in…the cowardly perp disappeared in the ensuing chaos…perhaps the place can be turned into a soup kitchen…
