“TAXPAYER FUNDED CAMPAIGN TOUR” GOES POORLY IN PALMETTO STATE …
By FITSNEWS || U.S. Vice President Joe Biden drew fewer than 250 people to a Democratic “get out the vote” rally at Allen University in downtown Columbia, S.C.
Yeah … that’s not even worth a motorcade, people.
Of course Biden had a motorcade anyway, one which prevented a South Carolina man from taking his elderly mother to a doctor’s visit – according to reporter Alex Pappas of The Daily Caller.
“It wasn’t an emergency, but it was important,” the Columbia, S.C. resident told Pappas. “She’s not well.”
Neither is Biden, but that’s another story …
The anemic response to Biden’s Palmetto State visit was music to the ears of South Carolina “Republicans,” who mocked his trip as nothing but a “taxpayer-funded campaign tour.”
“Two-hundred fifty people for a sitting vice president is a joke,” one GOP consultant told FITS.
We agree … in fact we expect this embarrassing turnout to provide a nice point of contrast when newly minted “neoconservative” (cough, opportunist) Hillary Clinton rolls into town.
Seriously … does Biden really think he has a chance in South Carolina’s “First in the South” presidential primary?
In addition to his lightly attended “rally,” Biden also appeared at a $5,000-a-plate fundraiser at the home of former S.C. Democratic Party chairman Dick Harpootlian. No word on the attendance at that event …
Biden has blocked traffic in South Carolina twice this year. U.S. President Barack Obama, incidentally, has yet to set foot in the Palmetto State since taking the oath of office in 2009.
