Auburn fans are publicly rebuking the University of South Carolina football program in the wake of the Tigers’ defeat in this week’s big national championship game in Pasadena, California.

Auburn came up just short against No. 1 Florida State in the final Bowl Championship series game – losing 34-31 when Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston connected with wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin for the game-winning score with just thirteen seconds left on the clock.

Anyway, the post-game drama began when a Gamecock football supporter took to an Auburn football message board to offer his thoughts on the game.

“Oh well, guess we can’t win ’em all,” the Carolina fan wrote. “Sucks it was against an a-she-she team. Good effort boyz.”

The message was entitled “Broke Our Streak,” a reference to the Southeastern Conference’s streak of seven straight national championships, which came to an end with Florida State’s win.

Auburn fans wasted little time in venting a little post-game frustration.

“Our streak?” one wrote. “Havent seen a cock anywhere near a title game.”

“(T)he cocks have no claim to any SEC championships,” another Auburn fan replied.  “Your best team ever folded against this FSU team when they were in their freshman year … Save face cocks and just keep talking smack to Clemson fans instead of making yourselves look idiotic on this Auburn site. They deserved it, they made it, they played their asses off..  You and the other SEC losers have nothing to do with this.”

Ouch …

Next, a University of South California fan got in on the action …

Our? We? you Cocks are so pathetic, living off what other teams are doing. i am so glad, the SEC lost. because of mini teams like you.

Then it was back to Auburn supporters for some more trash talk …

they ride the coat tails of other SEC teams..they will never be contenders but yet they have this vision of themselves that I will never understand..can someone help me? When have the Cocks ever been significant?????

Uscum roosters have an Alabama mouth and a Vanderbilt trophy case.  Great game by both teams – sorry that either team had to lose.

Wow …

For those of you wondering the next time these two programs square off, South Carolina travels to Jordan-Hare Stadium on October 25, 2014 – and our hope is these comments whet the Gamecocks’ already ravenous appetite for revenge.

Auburn is the last team to defeat Steve Spurrier’s squad at Williams-Brice Stadium, escaping with a 16-13 win midway through the 2011 season.  South Carolina has reeled off eighteen straight home victories since then.

The Gamecocks (11-2, 6-2 SEC) finished the 2013 season ranked No. 4 in the nation – two spots behind Auburn (11-2, 7-1 SEC).

Talking about not being known, Clemson has lower tv viewership of its games, a smaller alumni base, a less valuable program, less name recognition outside of SC, and is known by national pundits as SC’s little brother.

Reply
In Saban We Trust January 7, 2014 at 3:46 pm

National pundits? You mean Jesse Palmer right? I am not all that familiar with the rivalry but I thought Clemson had a huge lead in the overall series on y’all? You’re still South Carolina and you’re still the little brother of the rest of the SEC. Roll Tide!

Reply
Jackie Chiles January 7, 2014 at 3:53 pm

Most of Clemson’s wins came when Princeton was a powerhouse in football. Even taking those into account, the record resembles that of Florida Florida State’s series. Clemson is the past. SC is the future my Bammer friend.

dillweed January 7, 2014 at 6:26 pm

He also brought to the attention of the national audience the term #Clemsoning.

dillweed January 7, 2014 at 6:28 pm

The tide got rolled last time we played. Let’s not forget

Black Magic January 7, 2014 at 6:56 pm

Really, Ya’ll won on a fluke play. Stop smoking the dillweed! Your still and always will be Bama’s little brother. When people think of football in the state of Alabama ya’ll don’t even come to mind. Its always ROLL TIDE!

WarEagle January 7, 2014 at 9:33 pm

Nice try. We’re 11-9 against them over the last 20 years. Including 5 in a row. We didn’t say the same dumb shit you cocks did though. We didn’t and don’t quite have the inferiority complex you do.

Black Magic January 7, 2014 at 11:39 pm

What a joke there war buzzard or are you a tigger now.Ya’ll get all butt hurt cause ya’ll lost to free shoes university after you had them down 21-3. You see people figure out high school offences and make adjustments something your coaching staff did not do. Both offensively and defensively. Ellis Johnson is famous for his lack of adjustments. You could not move the ball the entire third quarter and free shoes university just kept getting closer and closer till they over came and you ultimately LOST. Guess ya’ll are like a 4 four foot man with a little man inferiority complex.Think you are bigger and badder than you actually are.

FSU's bitch January 13, 2014 at 11:05 am

You’re not relevant enough to use the “free shoes university” phrase. Your senile coach is an awesome trash takertaker and that’s about it. Spurrier is FSU’s bitch no matter where he coaches

This entire article is about dumb asses like you riding each other’s jocks. Please tell me what TEAM has won “7 in a row”. This is very entertaining. Since we’re off topic. When was the last time Spurrier won at Doak Campbell?? I’ll help you, the answer is NEVER.

Daniel Mobley January 7, 2014 at 4:05 pm

How uneducated are you I mean come the hell on of course you have a bigger alumni you have what 10 to 15,000 more students and as far as the other stuff the Lamecocks didn’t do any of those things you are crowing about. The Shamecocks are a product of the conference they play in not the USuCk football program, all your money and viewership is based on the SEC and the TV money you get from that dumbass it has nothing to do with that sorry program that has only been good for 3 years idiot. Thats what this whole article is about is that you guys try and think you did something when in all reality you did absolutely nothing, are you so dumb you didn’t pick up on that. Hell your team was so bad that they couldn’t even win the ACC when you were a part of that conference that you had to quit it and go independent, even though the ACC was the premier conference then, but how about you look that up seeing how I know you have to because you think your team has only been around the past 5 years. Any how why do you Lamecocks speak about Clemson when nothing on this page has anything to do with us, because were still your daddy and you know it thats why you can’t keep Clemson out of your head. All anyone has to do is look at the head to head series and they know instantly who is who’s daddy its not a secret. I mean man come on and Auburn fan comes on here and says that you guys have been nowhere around when it comes to championships and a Gamecocks come back is well we beat Clemson not 1 not 2 not 3 not 4 but 5 times 5 times like an Auburn fan gives a shit about that. I feel bad that Auburn fans has to put up with the bullshit you morons put the whole conference through, you know thats how you know you are a joke is when your WHOLE conference hates you and makes fun of you and all you will keep saying is well well well we beat Clemson, what a bunch of losers. Enjoy your little streak and your little string of success because if there is one thing that every football fan knows is that the Gamecocks are to dumb to sustain any length of success that here soon you’ll get dumped back right down to the bottom of the barrel and everyone knows that…..

Black Magic January 7, 2014 at 11:44 pm

Tradition is not going out and buying a players services and like stated before ya’ll can’t decide between being a war buzzard or tigger. So when is the NCAA going to investigate? They normally do after national title runs? What tiny bit of tradition that you do have is tainted. Always Bama’s little brother!

Guest January 7, 2014 at 6:12 pm

They did when the ACC you incompetent fuck

TIGER37 January 7, 2014 at 5:09 pm

What are you basing this comment on Jackie Chiles? Your own emotional biases? I guess you didn’t see that this past Friday’s Orange Bowl, you know the one that Clemson beat a very relevant Ohio State team in, had over 11 million viewers. This made it the most watched Orange Bowl since 2008. Unlike you, I will even put a link to where I get my stats: http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2014/01/06/most-viewed-orange-bowl-since-2008-four-game-bcs-average-up-15-percent-over-2013/226997/

And I don’t know how in the world you think Clemson is “a less valuable program, less name recognition outside of SC, and is known by national pundits as SC’s little brother.” WOW! How much more delusional can you be? When has any commentator come close to making that comment? Sure, Clemson has lost to Carolina 5 times in a row. However, in the last two years alone Clemson has beaten Auburn (x2), LSU, Georgia, and Ohio State. I’d say that’s pretty good competition considering 2 of the 4 have won national championships in the last 3 years and one was minutes away from playing for a national title this year. This comment is baseless and is as stupid as your head coach’s claim that USCJr is the “national champion of the bowl season.” Get your facts straight!

Jackie Chiles January 7, 2014 at 9:40 pm

Clemson had ONE game with higher t.v. ratings and that was largely because people were tuning in to watch OSU. SC had roughly 450k more viewers PER GAME than Clemson did. http://www.goodbullhunting.com/2013/12/4/5173376/sec-college-football-tv-ratings-2014-texas-am-missouri

living vicariously through winners? The gamecocks barely have a lifetime winning record. That’s over a 100+ year football program. Short-term success doesn’t make you a football powerhouse, or make you a respectable team.

Gamecocks are looked at like a UK or Vanderbilt by Auburn, Alabama, LSU and Florida fans.

I don’t really give a shit about the message board rantings of sports fans. I participate in it, too, but it’s all a bunch of hot air. So a few anonymoust Auburn fans can say what they will. What concerns me are wins and losses, and USC has 33 wins and only 6 losses the past three years. And my guess is you are a Tiger fan, but not of the Auburn variety, so better luck next year, sport.

From Los Angeles and graduated from the real USC and the real school in LA is UCLA and USC was founded way before California existence. Get real….

BelieveTheHype January 8, 2014 at 11:19 am

Let’s get this straight. The University of South Carolina is stuck in a big ass identity crisis. They can’t be USC because that is a school in California (11 national championships in football and 12 in baseball) Tally up The University of South Carolina’s. They definitely can’t be Carolina because that title belongs to the Tarheel’s academically and in it’s sports history across the board. When I think of South Carolina I think of the school I wouldn’t never send my child to to get a weak ass education learning to count to two. And lastly, the real football team in South Carolina plays in Clemson. We all know … You have beat them for five whole years now but lets remember that The University of South Carolina hold an amazing 45-62-4 record over those shitty Tigers over there in the ACC. Let’s forget that you only have winning record’s vs the Tigers in the 40’s, 50’s, and 10’s and they own you for the rest of football history. But the biggest identity crisis of ALL is trying to figure out where you belong in the grand scheme of things. The Socon was obviously too good for you if your spitting titles with Duke. Congratulations on a single conference championship in the ACC where you once again did not pan out. And help me figure out where you belong in the SEC among the best football conference in America. Is It above Auburn, Alabama, LSU, UGA, Mizzou, Florida, Texas Tech, or anybody else for that matter? Let’s not talk about the last five years when The University of South Carolina got up for ONE game each season, but over history. The University of South Carolina is not relevant. Good job on being ranked, but do more. I’m not a hating Clemson fan or anything like that. I don’t even support Clemson. I’m just a realist and it is time for all you cocksuckers out there to wake up and stop hating on everybody else’s success. Try winning for yourself and stop gloating over a small part of history in a rivalry where you have been owned. Stop pointing out grammatical errors in posts saying “you must be from Clemson.” They own you academically as well. Show up and win something just once and we may just give you a little credit.

You must be a Clemson fan with that atrocious grammar. You probably went to Clemson too. “Want never”? Even if you get the benefit of the doubt on the typo on that, it’s still a disgusting use of the English language. Want people to take you seriously? Speak, or in this case type, like an educated person.

Jackie Chiles January 7, 2014 at 7:23 pm

USC’s bowl money goes into a pool and it’s evenly divided among the entire league. I’m pretty sure it’s the same for the ACC, so enjoy whatever cut of that $17 million you get.

Reply
Derek Evans January 7, 2014 at 8:23 pm

ok, so if USC got $4 million for winning the Capital One Bowl and Clemson got $17 million for winning the Orange Bowl and both winnings are evenly spread among the conference I’m sure Clemson gets more than USC

Scooter January 7, 2014 at 9:00 pm

You can’t expect a dirt pecker to understand that.

Jackie Chiles January 8, 2014 at 11:55 am

Uh, except that both conferences played in the same number of BCS bowls that all have an $18m payout and the SEC had more teams play in non-BCS bowls with higher payouts.

Cocks are aggy January 7, 2014 at 9:06 pm

If thats the case, Clemson, with its Orange Bowl win, and Florida States BCS National Championship win, wouldnt that be more for the conference than just Clemson’s $17 million?

Jackie Chiles January 7, 2014 at 9:32 pm

As a whole, the SEC teams will get more overall for their bowl games than the ACC.

AUTigers January 8, 2014 at 4:58 am

Since when? We lost, Bama lost, and yet SC brings home the bacon huh? I want some of what you’re smoking.

This bowl season was atrocious for SEC Bowl winnings. On the other hand, the ACC cleaned house with 2 BCS Bowl wins. ($24 million I think on those 2 bowl games alone.)

Yeah I know it kinda sucks but let’s just be realistic here. No one stays on top forever.

Jackie Chiles January 8, 2014 at 8:50 am

You do realize that you don’t make more for winning right?

Bullgerbil January 7, 2014 at 9:16 pm

Did all the SEC National Champions evenly divide their Championship with the entire league too or do they just share it with scar every year? Beat Clemson or not, it doesn’t change the fact that the TOP of the SEC doesn’t look at you as anything more than their annoying little sister.

Jackie Chiles January 7, 2014 at 9:36 pm

According to pretty much everyone, SC is at the TOP of the SEC this season. It’s actually the second highest ranked SEC team right now.

The sec makes fun of you on a website and you respond, “Clemson sucks!” Does this sound about right? You all chant 5 in a row but Clemson owns you in the overall. You’re the little brother. What has Clemson won in this current era? Virginia tech used to be in the orange bowl and they weren’t as good as Alabama, Auburn, or LSU. Btw, Florida has not been the same team since Tebow and certainly were not a championship team two years ago. I am so glad ND beat USC to keep Florida out of the NCG that year. The orange bowl accepts the ACC winner or next available team. BCS bowls other than NCG is nothing but bowls that award conference winners or next available.

To answer your 1st question: A BCS Orange Bowl Championship, a conference title.

What has SC won recently or ever besides the Outback Bowl and Capital One Bowl? Wait, we know… 5 in a row against Clemson. We get it, your fans have only said it about a thousand times. Please stay on topic. What makes USC a “powerhouse” program?

Bonus: when was the last time SC beat Auburn? Hint: FDR was President (1st term).

Will you spend the $200 million on your preseason national championship trophy room?

Jackie Chiles January 7, 2014 at 4:05 pm

I suppose we could donate it to Clemson so they could build their long awaited national championship room for the 2012 CFA bowl when Dabo declared Clemson a national championship team for defeating LSU.

Auburn good game thought you had their number in the first half, but as a Clemson and ACC fan I can’t say that I wasn’t happy. There’s a difference between something that happened 5 years ago that is part of a current winning streak with the same coach and the ancient history that Clemson fans are relying on to make themselves feel better about it.

Derek Evans January 7, 2014 at 6:55 pm

The coots have 1 conference championship from the ACC back in 1969. Haven’t done shit since, haven’t been relevant since. If Clemson is the past that must make the coots the never has beens. They have never made it to a BCS bowl and their own coach pretty much admitted that they aren’t good enough because they were good enough they would have earned a spot in a BCS game…too little too late for that. Clemson has been twice in 3 years. Coots can’t win with grace…always talking shit. If I wanted to hear shit then I’d fart

Jackie Chiles January 7, 2014 at 7:15 pm

Funny that Clemson fans are more worried about SC’s past than SC fans are. Why? Because the days of yore were when Clemson mattered. Remember Princeton and Harvard football? The UK used to have an empire that spanned the Globe! That must mean it will endure forever! Just like Clemson football success.

Derek Evans January 7, 2014 at 8:26 pm

Squishy123 January 7, 2014 at 8:53 pm

You guy’s need to get over the little brother syndrome you’ve got and realize you don’t belong in the SEC, even your own conference wishes you would STFU. So next time don’t bring Clemson into your arguments against other team’s.

Jackie Chiles January 7, 2014 at 7:22 pm

Bobby Oneill January 7, 2014 at 7:41 pm

Um…No, sir. It was something I seen on Facebook, posted by the USC Athletics’ Department. I read the article, then comments’ and seen yours. So, can you explain why in the world this has ANYTHING to do with Clemson?

Benjamin Stackz Derrick January 7, 2014 at 7:41 pm

You are correct Bobby. Clemson has nothing to do with this article. This article was built around pride and prestige. Clemson just likes to jump in whenever they can to try to bash and humiliate Gamecock Fans because they can’t beat us in football. They badmouth our program, but we shut them up every November – then they usually pop back up around November talking smack. This year is different – they’re pissed at the world. All they can do is run their mouths now when they don’t have a shine bottle to their lips. They’re deflated like a soaking sock. I despise them. Back to the real subject at hand…

My point is that it’s classless to lash out at a team you haven’t played in x years and start crap with the fans. Auburn lost the NCG to an inferior ACC opponent. Unfortunately Auburn’s defense fell asleep on the bus and never got off. Clemson’s team did not get to play Auburn and for good reason – War Eagles would have mopped the floor with them. Clemson is far from “Elite” as their coach proclaimed. Daybo feeds them all lies (it’s apparent now) to keep his fans happy. As long as that happens, then Clemson University is happy. And that’s perfectly alright with us.

Like I was saying before, for anyone (Auburn fans) to trash talk (take cheap shots?) at another team coming off of a loss in a bowl game of any kind of loss suffered doesn’t make sense to me. That’s just my opinion.

But for the Clemson fans, I’m asking nicely – please gtfo and go play with Clemson Tom as I’m sure he is getting drunk by himself tonight. Just leave this SEC conversation article to the big boys and go back to your little ACC trailer park.

No real sense in talking trash after a loss to any team. None at all.

Cocks = the $EC's step child January 13, 2014 at 10:56 am

Did your dumb ass just call FSU “inferior”?? I believe the word is SUPERIOR! Once Jimbo stopped turncoat Coach Craig from stealing the signals it was game, set match. South Carolina was the youngest team in the nation in ’13… Our graduating class was minimal. There were some juniors who jumped pro… We no longer hope for players, we sign them. What we do at Columbia is reload – year in year out. It slays and amuses me that you think because a few of our players are going pro that we’re going to be less of a talented team? That’s what recruiting is for. That’s what practice is for. That’s what coaching is for.

RF – have you been paying attention to the depth chart?

You must be talking about our enormous Senior-laden class, right? Oh yeah – those guys who jumped pro? … Let me give you the breakdown Jackie…

We’ve graduated 4 and lost 4 to the NFL:

JUMPING PRO:

DE Jadeveon Clowney – true junior (6’6″, 274)

WR Bruce Ellington (5’9″, 196)

CB Victor Hampton (5’10”, 202)

DT Kelcy Quarles (6’4″, 298)

TOP CANDIDATES FOR REPLACEMENT:

DE Darius English (6’6″, 226)

WR Pharaoh Cooper (5’11” 184)

CB Ahmad Chrisian (5’10”, 189)

DT Phillip Dukes (6’3″, 315)

Also, our Senior graduating class was few in number. We WILL be Senior laden for the fall of ’14.

Every player that will step in to cover for those going to the NFL are just as good as those departing. I would actually expect a couple of that list to join the pros with their departing brethren come next season. All we do is produce NFL ballers now.

Good luck on your season in ’14 – personally, you will need it.

You lost to a team that lost to UT. Congrats. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a bunch of butt-hurt Clemson fans. It’s really funny the excuses y’all come up with (UT, Orange Bowl, and now Auburn) — anything to take away from the pain of five straight, double-digit beatdowns.

lolcoots January 7, 2014 at 8:47 pm

You are right. We are butthurt. I’d better wipe my eyes with this Orange Bowl trophy.

lol backdoor tater January 8, 2014 at 11:33 am

anything you can do to cover up 7 in a row….65-42-4…and 63-17…….get over it you are still only second best…we are your highlight.

this time like 73 years ago January 8, 2014 at 6:44 pm

and that 7 in a row was in the decade? no, last 50 years? no? well must be last 60 years? no? 70? no. oh 73 years ago yeah that’s something you were able to witness 1st hand.

mp January 10, 2014 at 10:17 pm

i know in my life i have witnessed the 65th win,the 63-17 game, and a national title,oh ,and multiple conference titles….but i’ve never witnessed anyone in garnet do any of these things….oh and i never witnessed anyone in garnet win 8 in a row either.

RW Goodwin January 13, 2014 at 10:44 pm

That National Title came with ALOT of scrutiny – What an embarrassment… Gosh! And let’s don’t forget the WVa game – most points scored… Add that to your list!

Benjamin Stackz Derrick January 16, 2014 at 6:40 am

Here is your National Title Clemson:

http://www.shakinthesouthland.com/2008/10/clemsons-ncaa-infractions-and-truth.html

YOU CHEATED TO GET HIGH CALIBER PLAYERS ON TO YOUR TEAM THROUGH BRIBES AND PAYMENTS, AND YOU DID IT MORE THAN ONCE.

Why you are so proud of this, I don’t have a clue. I guess it shows your own integrity level as fans to boast such an accomplishment that afterwards caused the NCAA governing board to use their time and resources to discipline your program in your little conference – or where was the discipline?

Your title remains as does your shame.

Who is currently on probation?

Benjamin Stackz Derrick July 10, 2014 at 3:34 pm

Probation for what Scooter? Not monitoring players…

Well since we’re on that subject, let’s talk about Sammy or Hopkins for a minute. Sammy was trashed when he rubbed his car up against that curb. And I believe that was Hopkin’s nasty phallus in that text message (I just heard about that last one).

South Carolina is on probation for ONE (1) more year. … For circumstances that our coaching staff knew NOTHING about, but self-disciplined themselves as adults do. Where was the discipline for Sammy? (The pills in the car?) Remember that? I bet if you asked ClimSIX lacks discipline.

THE USC is on probation for one more year. This probation has not limited our national exposure, has not withheld us from any bowl games or future bowl games, and will not stop us from going to an SEC Championship.

The only reason Clemson isn’t on probation is because your security guards are too dumb to catch anything but a nap.

Scooter January 19, 2014 at 3:49 pm

USC losers are still pissed that they didn’t have the GPA to get into Clemson…..USC will take ANYBODY – hence the reason as to why you have the most ignorant fan base and the most hated team in the conference and state: they’re all dumb as h*ll.

Jen January 8, 2014 at 12:40 pm

Last I checked this was a rivalry about football not about who couldn’t get into your little school.

Footballjunkie January 8, 2014 at 12:55 pm

You clemson idiots claim your better than Carolina even though you have lost to them 5 times in a row…..how is that not stupid?….and you clemson fans have the biggest mouths I have ever heard, especially when your losing to Carolina, which is quite often……high five?

Craig Clary January 8, 2014 at 2:01 pm

When you win 20+ more just to EQUAL the number of times we have beaten you, THEN you can talk about being better. Come talk in 20+ years…

Eric Kirkley January 26, 2014 at 5:11 pm

lol, you just conceded the fact that we’re gonna beat your ass 20 more times in the next twenty years. nice job :) I drink the gamecock kool-aid pretty heavy but I wouldn’t make that bold of a statement. hope it comes to fruition tho, cheers .

trappw3 January 8, 2014 at 1:04 pm

Wes SOS actually asked for the academic qualifications to be raised at South Carolina in his 3rd season! No matter what was said and how our Trophy case looks we have won 18 straight at home (Longest active streak in the country) We are 33-6 in the last 3 seasons and have won 5 in a row again our in state rivals! Everyone can keep talking about how “Irrelevant” South Carolina is, but I am damn proud to be a Gamecock!

LuLu January 8, 2014 at 6:06 pm

Maybe the winning streak is because of the schedule; it seems that USC had an “easy” schedule this season compared to other SEC teams.

TWILL January 8, 2014 at 6:39 pm

Have you even looked at the strength of the schedules for the SEC teams this year, Ur an idiot but let me Fuck you up with some knowledge Auburn had the 5 easiest schedule in the good OLE SEC….. http://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/2013/sec-football-strength-of-schedule-2013/ just fyi. I was honestly pulling for Auburn because ya’ll are an SEC but never again because ya’ll are some idiots! Alabama would’ve brought home that trophy to the good ole SEC. Ya’ll haven’t played anybody and had a horseshoe up ya’lls ass the two big wins ya’ll did g lucky enough to pull off!!

Larry Leek January 10, 2014 at 8:18 am

Kudo’s Twill, Me like you was also pulling for Auburn to beat Fla. State & was extrtemely angry when they didn’t, thou I never though that they blew our 7-year streak that YES South Carolina had no hand in. But I felt the refs had helped Fla. St. win that game… That was my only concern. But NOW after reading what I’vve read from Auburn fans, I can’t wait until Oct. when we go there & KICK THEIR ASS !!!!

$EC_Share_Everything January 12, 2014 at 2:11 pm

Larry, “The refs helped Fla. State win that game” WOW!! Did you see the missed facemask that AU did against Winston? Or the horse collar? Or the taunting by dumb ass Tre Mason when he spiked the ball and did his ridiculous Heisman pose. But yeah, the refs sure did cost AU the game. The $EC is the Share Everything Conference and the Sorry Excuses Conference. But hysterical and delusional fans. Still mad that Greg Reid knocked Splattimore out in the Chick FilA Bowl??

Larry Leek January 24, 2014 at 5:16 pm

you need to open your eyes when you make judgement calls on penalties. The horse collar penalty you spoke of was NOT a horse collar, because the Auburn player grabbed the Fla. St. players Jersey NOT the shoulder pads, which nullifies the horse collar penalty, open your eyes & check the play again. I’m not saying calls weren’t missed on both teams BUT in a game w/ as much riding on it as in this case, the ref’s became WAY too involved in deciding the out come.towards the end of the game instead of letting them play. making knit picky calls like the interference call that put Fla St. on the goal line 1st & 10. Had that call NOT been made I don’t think Fla. St. would have scored a TD. also you want to bad mouth the SEC winners of the last 7 straight titles LOL… I can understand you jealousy & Pain especially if you root for an ACC team, since when it comes to football ACC stands for “A Crappy Conference” or maybe its the PAC 10 which means “Planning Another Choke” & you also showed your tremendous lack of class by making such a PITIFUL comment about Marcus Lattimore, who happens to be an extremely classy, BIG Hearted, selfless individual The last thing ever on my mind would be to kick an injured player while he’s down. I sure wouldn’t want to stand too close to you w/ a MOUTH like that. I’m proud to call myself a Gamecock fan, I’ve suffered many a disappointing season over the years, but I always remain loyal to my teams. I never heard you even mention who your team was, are you too embarrassed to say LOL….One thing you can bet on, when college playoffs begin next year, everyone will see just how dominate the SEC can be.when they capture 2 or more of the 4 playoff spots every year LOL I wouldn’t be surprised if we end up w/ an ALL SEC title game LOL…Though it won’t be possible I’m sure, the argument will still become a reality when the top 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 rankings are all SEC teams LOL….& you can bet its going to happen !!!!!

nolesbaby January 31, 2014 at 4:17 pm

nit picking call on the last play before the TD? dude tackled him in the endzone before the ball was even close, two refs threw flags immediately, they arent gonna let the Auburn cheat to win, Oh BTW it was a horse collar I saw from 20 feet away LIVE!

Larry Leek July 20, 2014 at 11:02 am

you are a BLIND IDIOT !!!! if you was 20′ away from the call, that means someone wasted a nice ticket & seat on YOU LOL !!!!

dumb tater January 8, 2014 at 6:40 pm

Rader January 8, 2014 at 10:10 pm

Hey lulu, get your facts right! We had one the toughest schedules (conference and none conference) in the SEC! Alabama had the easiest! Make sure you know what you are talking about idiot;)

LuLu Your an IDIOT EASY SCHEDULE???????? OMG did you forget we play in the SEC TOO !!! Nuff said !!!!

RollTideRoll January 16, 2014 at 8:44 pm

So your biggest achievements are 5 wins over Clempson? Isnt that the first time the Gamecocks have ever done that? Seriously? As an Alabama STUDENT I can say you are retarded. No one gives a shit about you beating Clempson, you couldn’t even make a BCS bowl… EVER! Don’t give me this “well we play in the SEC” BS because you constantly tout that your “dominance” comes from the fact you play in the SEC (how can your biggest strength be your biggest weakness?). Carolina fans are a joke and so is your useless program. I hope Clempson beats you next year so you will all shut the hell up. When you win an SEC championship and actually do something that contributes to our conference then I’ll give you credit, but that will never happen. Carolina should have stayed in the ACC where it belongs.

And the 50s and the 60s and the 70s and the 80s and the 90s and the 2000s. That record didn’t get so lop-sided in one decade.

chuck January 10, 2014 at 12:25 pm

Michigan leads Ohio State by 15 wins. No one talks about how great Michigan is compared to OSU. Alabama leadsLSU by 23. Florida State leads Clemson by 10. Ga Tech lead Clemson by 23. My point is that plenty of major college rivalries have gaps near 20 games and that the domination you claim is simply false.

RollTideRoll January 16, 2014 at 8:49 pm

Actually, you hear ALOT about how much better Michigan is because they have the most successful college football program in history. Over 900 wins, 24 National championships, 42 Conference titles, and a shit load more records. Second to them is Notre Dame with 23 national championships and the highest winning percentage in college football (Michigan is 2nd).

RW Goodwin January 13, 2014 at 10:31 pm

Take another look at the record when BOTH team were ranked… Ain’t much glory in beating a team that’s 0-11 or 1-10… Well, may it is for a Tater…

Nacho Sharpe January 8, 2014 at 1:44 pm

wow, clemson only got picked by default… think about it, they pick the top 2 teams from the conference. ie auburn alabama, ohio state michigan state, clemson fla state. its no competition in ur conference. mia trash, duke trash, nc trash, maryland trash etc. its no worthy opponents in the acc. so i wouldnt brag to much on that. the first team from sc to win a bcs game, cool congrats, (if it makes u feel better) but the team with the hardest schedule from sc, team in the toughest confrence from sc, team with the best record the past 3 or 4 seasons from sc, team with the best bowl record the past years from sc, do i really need to continue?

Not So Sharpe January 8, 2014 at 5:59 pm

It’s easy to win when Spurrier plays criminals and degenerates and barely has to do any actual recruiting. Everybody wants to hop on that bandwagon but it never goes anywhere. If you want a conference with no competition try the SEC. USC and that other rabble is no competition for the top tier of the SEC.

hahhahaha January 8, 2014 at 6:42 pm

Sage May 22, 2014 at 6:42 pm

“the first team from sc to win a bcs game, cool congrats, (if it makes u feel better)”

So are you saying that Clemson winning the Orange Bowl was easy because they were picked by default?

I do agree that we (Clemson) needs to finally beat SC. However, SC can brag all they want about how they play in the SEC. Until they start winning the games they are supposed to win (Tennessee, Missouri, and almost UCF!) they can’t really claim dominance. The thing with rivalry games is that they can really go either way. Is Auburn really better than Bama? Maybe. But that was anybody’s game.

Orange bowl doesnt mean jack January 7, 2014 at 4:10 pm

So just because you went to a BCS bowl you are “big time” here is a list of some big time national powerhouses that played in the orange bowl because teams higher ranked couldn’t. Iowa, West Virginia, Kansas, Maryland, Wake Forest, Cincinnati, Northern Illinois, Clemson, wow that’s an impressive list of national teams, and by the way I’m sure you are higher ranked then USC for winning that game right? you aren’t, and your not even in the top 5? hmmm that’s odd.

How many teams get picked from the powerhouse sec?! That would be 2.

HLB 58 January 7, 2014 at 8:30 pm

Here is what is odd indeed. The coots have one of the best college Coaches in the sec, yet they had the weakest schedule in the sec. Bama, Lsu, and A&M had tougher sec schedule than usuc. But JUST b/c of the name of cry baby Steve Slurrier, Usuc was ranked higher than Bama, LSU, and A&M. And Usuc didn’t win one game against the 3 better sec teams that played a stronger schedule and beat up on each other. When that same logic was always Usucs excuse why they found it so hard to win in the sec. Well, not until Slurrier cried to the sec commissioner how unfair it was that Usuc had to play Bama and LSU every year. To be the best, beat the best, Stop running from Bama and LSU in the same year, they don’t, But that is why they are always a better and stronger team than usuc .

Sonnyrock76 January 8, 2014 at 8:35 am

Oh yeah, I remember that year. We lost to LSU and then Spanked Clemsux for the fourth straight time. So what’s your point?

Sue Perman January 7, 2014 at 10:05 pm

It’s ridiculous that they avoided playing Auburn, Alabama, A&M, and LSU this year and still feel that they are great. Spurrier wants to continue to force his fans to think that their team is the greatest, so he avoids those teams out of concern that they will lose. In order to be the best, you need to beat the best. SC will NEVER in our lifetime be the team that they “herd” they are.

william jason o'neal January 7, 2014 at 10:19 pm

First off………SC does not choose their SEC schedule that is a rotational pattern. SC is not in the SEC title game last three years because they gave games away against Auburn, LSU, and Tennessee. That was our fault and not the other team’s. We beat ourselves. Please read more into how scheduled games in the conference work.

UScum January 7, 2014 at 11:08 pm

Do you mean gave those games away as in “LOST” or do you mean gave those games away as Clemson did this year against USC with 6 turnovers? Just wondering.

william jason o'neal January 8, 2014 at 2:28 am

No I mean leading in the fourth qtr and giving the game away by not running the ball and running out the clock. Garcia was the problem in 2011 against Auburn, and Shaw made a mistake against LSU late. Its not giving a game away when you get blown out, thats flat out getting beat.

coots beak is for idiots January 8, 2014 at 8:05 am

Umm...What? January 8, 2014 at 3:38 am

Are y’all all idiots? Carolina is in the SEC east; Auburn, Alabama, A&M and LSU are all in the SEC west. Carolina plays one team from the SEC west every year, which up until this coming year has been Arkansas (It will be A&M from here on out), and then it plays another random west team every year. All other SEC teams it plays are eastern. That’s how the scheduling is. Spurrier has nothing to do with the schedule. Anyone who thinks otherwise obviously doesn’t understand scheduling in college football.

Gus's son January 8, 2014 at 9:13 am

Carolina is in chapel hill and the ACC. Get your facts straight

Charleston9843 January 8, 2014 at 11:25 am

glenn January 8, 2014 at 1:03 pm

Here are the facts. Carolina has won their division one time in the sec. That means one time in twenty something years. They should worry about that instead of how many times they beat their rival.

Go back annd learn a little history. South Carolina became a state before North Carolina..so rightfully so, the name Carolina belongs to South Carolina.

Benjamin Stackz Derrick January 8, 2014 at 2:26 pm

I hate to interrupt, but actually… South Carolina must play two SEC western division opponents per year… Since joining the SEC in ’91, Arkansas (who joined at the same time) has been our fixed SEC-West opponent. The other SEC-W program that we play rotates every four years, or something like that. Ie – In 2012, South Carolina played LSU… And in 2013, USC played Mississippi State.

CockyWithAReason2014 January 8, 2014 at 7:06 am

I’m assuming that you go/went to Clemson, because of your grammar skills. If you’re going to run your mouth, at least know basic grammar! Anyways, you are speaking of a “herd” of animals. You’re not saying that South Carolina HEARD they are a great team!

It’s “anyway” not “anyways.” Do not correct someone’s grammar and then misspell a word. Idiot. Clemson is ranked #62 in U.S. News under Best Colleges, “National Universities” category. U. of South Carolina is #112.

You stupid Coots Beakers making up shit. the SEC made the schedule bot us so we did avoids anyone. why don’t you play Miami every year, or Louisville now that they are in the Anyone Can Compete Conference. FYI in 14 we have A&M and auburn. Win again before you come back trolls from Coots Beak

Cootpooter January 8, 2014 at 8:44 pm

That would be acc doesn’t exist, there are several facts here. 1, the coots have won five in a row. It will end sometime, always does. 2, clemson with the exception of losing to the coots( and fsu) has been remarkably successful too. All this year proves is that elite teams find ways to the title and clemson did it once, carolina never and neither recently so both schools are similar. Honestly think that carolina wins because spurrier outcoaches dabo with his 20 to 30 years experience on him.

Sonnyrock76 January 8, 2014 at 8:37 am

Don’t forget that before this year we had one of the toughest schedules in college football. Better start doing some research before you spout off at the mouth. Besides, our easiest schedule is still harder than Clemsons hardest schedule.

Auburn-got-lucky January 8, 2014 at 10:43 am

You’re not even smart enough to know how scheduling is done so please don’t make comments on things you are clueless about.

Benjamin Stackz Derrick January 8, 2014 at 2:13 am

We never played Alabama and LSU every year, or in the same year even… Those are teams that rotate on and off our schedule since they are both in the western division…

Sonnyrock76 January 8, 2014 at 8:33 am

Wow, I’m assuming you’re a tater. With that being said, you ain’t got no room to talk about a week schedule. The only team that’s worth a crap in your conferenceand & I mean the only team, is FSU. The rest are just high school teams.Better check yourself son.

W.J.Smith January 8, 2014 at 10:09 am

The SEC Has a rotational schedule. We only play Bama once every 6 years

James Porter January 8, 2014 at 10:40 am

South Carolina beat 3 final top 10 teams. Two of which won BCS bowls. They beat 6 teams in the regular season who went on to win a bowl game. They are 1 of 3 teams finishing in the top10 for the 3rd consecutive. (Alabama & Oregon). If anyone is nationally relevant its the Gamecocks. Do we have hurdles that we need to overcome? Absolutely. We can’t continue to slip up in the middle of seasons. Does that make us irrelevant? No. And anyone who thinks that doesn’t understand college football.

dae12989 January 8, 2014 at 1:00 pm

we beat bama last time we played them and lost a close one in 2012 in the death valley next year we play a and m and aubie on the road it was one year and yes it was our best shot but we aint going anywhere we only had 4 seniors and we have a bunch of talent coming back rome wasnt buit in a day and spurrier has things rolling and he aint stopping till we get that hardware

I took the effort out of it for you this time and wait http://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/2013/sec-football-strength-of-schedule-2013/ ……….before you say something read(atleast try) and then tell me how in the hell you figure The best University in the state(the mothafuggin University of South Carolina, because I know how slow Clemson fans are.) had the easiest schedule!!! Bama had the easiest schedule, A&M had the 4th easiest and auburn had the 5th easiest schedule in the SEC. With that said, the SEC as a whole is the toughest conference in college football so no schedule is “easy”. BOTTOM LINE TO ALL OF HIS IS WE BEAT CLEMSON an WE HAVETHE BRAGGING RIGHTS FOR ANOTHER YEAR(HALF A DECADE AND COUNTING)

Guest January 8, 2014 at 2:29 am

How about this: All of you Clemson fans, go get to milking cows or whatever it is you do up in Pickens County and leave the football talk to the real SEC men. I don’t remember your team being mentioned at all in this article – except for the part of us talking smack about you (which after 5 victories, that comes with the territory). Leave it to Clemson fans to ruin a great discussion. Your team doesn’t belong on or in an SEC article. You belong over with the bottom feeders with the conference that you play in. Raise your hand if your team has ever played in the SEC. Those whose hands were not raised, you may exit this page. Thank you for your participation, this discussion is finished.

I’m not gonna be taking any advice from a so called team that’s 11th overall in the 70+ year history of the SEC with 0 SEC championships and equally 0 national championships. What doesn’t mean jack is that inflated garbage ranking with no tangible results. All this “we the SEC” is trash because USC is watching from the same places every year: their couches and the bars where they drown their sorrows. Reply
Alex January 7, 2014 at 9:35 pm

I’ve got a little time on my hands and facts to back up my argument, so let’s talk about your relevance. Not a single SEC conference title (with only one in the Southern conference in 1933 and one in the ACC in 1969), only 13 out of 22 seasons above .500 in the SEC, a losing record against 9 out of the 12 teams you’ve played in the SEC (you’ve bested Mississippi State, Kentucky, and Vandy – the only three teams with worse all-time records than SC), an overall SEC record of 96-155-5 and a 7-12 bowl record since the inception of SC football in 1892. All of that, along with your all-time football record of .510 determines your relevance both in the SEC and in the NCAA. You’re not, so get over it. You’re only ranked in the top 5 at the end of this season by default because 4 of the teams that were ranked above you lost their bowl game and you were lucky enough to beat Missouri in 2OT, putting you above them.

PS, inventing new titles to make yourself appear to be relevant, i.e. “National Champion of Bowl Season”, is embarrassing to everyone!

No, Clemson was the next best available ACC team. It is the truth sorry. Only the rose bowl in recent memory changed to where if a big 12 or pac 12 team was in the ncg then the BCS would have to consider other options depending on how highly ranked those options were.

Jackie Chiles January 7, 2014 at 7:15 pm

The ACC definitely had a contract with the Orange Bowl. Orange would’ve had to breach its contract to take a non ACC team.

Reply
Brian January 8, 2014 at 1:31 am

You sound silly. No Bowl committee has a “contract” with a specific conference. Bowl committees could very well choose whichever teams they like to play in their games. They go by GUIDELINES and RULES when choosing teams, not contracts. Clemson just happened to be the next team in line that qualified for their bowl according to the RULES. Clemson got selected to play in a BCS bowl game and SC didn’t. Build a bridge and get over it. Geez!

Benjamin Stackz Derrick January 7, 2014 at 5:23 pm

I don’t know the guy who made that comment… But everything he said was true. Look at it like this…

‘ “Oh well, guess we can’t win ‘em all,” the Carolina fan wrote. “Sucks it was against an a-she-she team. Good effort boyz.” ‘ – fitznews

Now… “We” suggests he’s referring to the SEC (including South Carolina). I was disappointed to see Auburn lose last night as I’m sure all Tiger fans were – as well as the rest of the SEC. “A-she-she” was referring to the ACC (downing their conference as a whole). Then a word of encouragement: “Good effort boyz”.

What’s wrong with any of that?

You guys need a strong dose of anti-butt hurt cream. Florida State played their asses off last night. You just got beat, that’s all. So the SEC got beat too – we’re all feeling the pain, trust me.

So before you throw stones, take a look at the context. I’ve met a few trashy South Carolina fans when it comes to sportsmanship, but I don’t feel that was this person’s intent.

I’m looking forward to watching both of our teams face off later this year on October 25. I was at the last game when Auburn came to play us at Williams-Brice… I’ve had my run-ins with some of your fans that were far more foul-mouthed than this – on the walk to the stadium, at the stadium, inside the stadium, and on the way back to my car.

I know you’re all hurting right now – I know the feeling too well. Just please think before you lash out at whoever, Remember, the nation not only watches the coaches and players, but the fans also.

I’ve attended all home games for the last 10 or so years my friend. Having sustained success (especially in the SEC) means that your program will become hated. Having the best offensive mind in the history of college football translates into jealousy. Florida was hated by the entire nation back when Spurrier was their coach, I was one of those. However, all of the hate in the world never stopped Spurrier’s offenses from scoring at will. I’m just stating facts.

This is exactly what the rest of the SEC gets tired of! If the Gamecocks don’t get there they ride of the others’ coat tails and that is their claim to fame! They are in the same conference with the BCS champion! However, throughout the year, SCAR fans hate Auburn, Bama, TN, GA…. Then yesterday, the Gamecocks I guess were frustrated because an ACC team won the BCS championship, so they started posting “5”! What the heck does SC’s 5 wins over Clemson have to do with last nights BCS championship game between AU and FSU? Gamecocks, STOP IT!!!! Pathetic!

cockygirl January 7, 2014 at 5:40 pm

All fans of all SEC teams should support the SEC teams when they play against other conferences, it makes our whole conference stronger, so why wouldn’t fans of other teams, including Gamecocks, be disappointed when the SEC team loses?
Sounds like the Auburn fans took what was a pretty innocuous comment and took it out on the Gamecock fanbase.
What did the Gamecock fan say that was wrong?

There’s no comparison, Clemson has 1 National title, multiple conference titles, and 2 BCS appearances with 1 win. Carolina has a big mouth in their trophy case and that’s all they’ll ever have. Clemson has a winning tradition, USC has a history talking about winning.

And once again a Clemson fan sticks his nose in a conversation that has nothing to do with him.

Last I checked we are ranked higher than Clemson in EVERY poll, we beat them this year, we have just finished our THIRD 11 win season IN A ROW, we have the LONGEST current win streak at home, and we are probably going to have a Gamecock picked first in the NFL draft.

So, yeah, we know about winning.

It was a close game. It could’ve gone either way (i.e. – ScuM vs. Mizzou and ScuM vs. UT). It didn’t work out for us. It happens.

“1 hit wonder”? We’ve played in 2 of the last 4 NC’s and won one of them.
Or were you talking about your beloved “1 hit wonder” conference championship?
Or was it your “1 hit wonder” appearance in the SEC Championship?
How’d that work out for you there Nacho cheesey? Does 56-17 ring any bells?

Ugh. This is pathetic and disgusting. Honestly, it doesn’t matter what the rest of the SEC thinks of us. I could care less. I’m a USC fan because I went there and an SEC fan because thats the conference my team is a part of. Its called SPORTSMANSHIP! Get over the fact that you lost, Auburn. Not only can you not win ’em all, you only seem to be able to win the bare minimum. If it hadnt been for a series of VERY fortuitous (for yall anyway) events, most of which had ZERO to do with YOUR team, you wouldnt even have been there. Of course you got your asses handed to you; you were outmatched – because you werent the team that should have been playing. And ride the coattails? This is not 10 years ago when USC was, much as it pains me to admit it, irrelevant. And it doesnt have anything to do with having beaten Clemson 5 years running. Yes we bring it up a lot, but it feels good to be on top after losing for so long and having it shoved down our throats constantly (if ANYONE should be able to relate to that, it should be Auburn fans). It has everything to do with the fact that we just finished our season with our highest EVER ranking at #4 in the nation. Maybe 10 years ago we werent a big deal, or even close to it. But today we ARE a force to be reckoned with and no matter what the rest of you snobby, pretentious SEC fans think about us, we DO represent this conference. And considering only 3 teams in the country outrank us, I’d say we’re doin a pretty damn good job of it. So suck it!

Lets not forget, Clemson still has the series lead. Would USuc beat Ohio State? Or Georgia at the beginning of the season? LSU in the post season? Not at all. And the 5 streak only goes to show that Clemson just hasnt made the proper adjustments in the past 5 years to stomp out the cocks like we used to. Come on now, Carolina fans dont have to be so ignorant. You try to bash Clemson because Auburn bashed you, which has nothing to do with Clemson. Even Florida State would demolish USuc.. Just facts. Take out a moment of your schedules to compare Clemson and Carolina trophy cases. Does carolina have a bcs bowl trophy, or a national championship trophy, or even a conference championship? And dont, i repeat, do not, blame that on the fact that you guys are in a conference with Bama, LSU, Texas A&M, when you dont even play those guys on a regular basis. I guess to Carolina fans, the proclaimed “state championship”, which is the title of the game I won back in high school ball, is more important than their trophy case. Lol congrats on your mediocre bowl victories. Outback Bowl, Capital One bowl. Tf are those?

Duke, wake, NC, etc. I’ll give Dabo credit he did schedule worthy out of conference teams, but without those teams the only strong team they played was FSU and we know what happened in that game. It isn’t getting any easier. The best QB in your history and still couldn’t get past the gamecocks. Buckeyes the same situation with schedule . ^^^^This^^^^

Other SEC fans are learning what Clemson fans have always known. The chickens run their mouth win or lose. Currently, they are dominating Clemson, and as a Clemson fan, I admit that. And I hear so many Tiger fans say, “We need to beat them to shut them up.” These fans are obviously a hell of a lot younger than me. Any long time Clemson fan knows it doesn’t matter. They run their mouth no matter what. When we beat them 9 out 10, they run their mouth. When they beat us 5 in a row, they run their mouth. The fact that they need 23 more years in a row of victories just to catch us doesn’t matter. (65-42-4) They run their mouth. That’s just who they are. “An Alabama mouth and a Vanderbilt trophy case.” (Though I bet Vandy actually has more trophies than the chickens.)

My perspective as a Clemson fan is that it’s our fault. We have the better team the past 3 years. Clemson can and should shut that mouth. Now Boyd is gone maybe we can make better decisions at the QB position. But SC Clemson has gifted you with this ego. Plus your not getting another Clowney or Lattimore….. This little bright spot for you is ending and you still did nothing with it. FSU would have killed SC. J Winston isn’t y is that defense and special teams and rbs

Reply
illpicasso January 7, 2014 at 10:05 pm

Wow, put him out the pasture already? Boyd was the best quarterback Clemson has ever had. And we don’t have a Clowney or Lattimore, but we do have a Davis, Thompson, Holloman and a couple of Dixons not to mention our backup quarterback got to whip a lil tiger tale a year ago. Lastly FSU may have beatin Carolina if they played but not nearly as bad as they beat you.

Reply
Stephen Presley January 7, 2014 at 11:37 pm

I think they would have with an open date to prepare for sc. Boyd was good but not a good decision maker. Great talent, sometimes didn’t manage games well like just throw the ball away instead of trying to force a pass for an interception. I am right though it’s Clemson own fault that SC has the big head AU and Bama LSU have done their job. It clearly is that Clemson isnt the same against SC as they were against UGA LSU and OSU. Same with the FSU game and Spurrier seems like he only cares about the state Championship. But be honest if Clemson had Johnny football or great QB on a bigger stage with those wrs and clemson would use a bigger back like Auburn or Bama….. SC wouldn’t beat em Either. Turnovers, and bone head plays is what beats Clemson. Like the Orange Bowl Boyd tried to give that one away both interceptions were just stupid. Sometimes I look at coaching decisions like why is a not rated recruit returning punts and fumbling twice when you have Watkins and all those studs, doesn’t make sense(no offense to Humphreys but I’d rather live with a Sammy Watkins mistake). Or why you have two 5 star linebackers only on special teams a 5 star corner top ten red shirted and unhappy backing up 3 star players. Have 2 stud freshman rbs red shirted when you need one to bruise the opposition. I like dabo but he needs to stop the charity act and put the studs in and let them grow. I also will never figure out why Clemson doesn’t just drop bombs and run draw plays. The wrs where monster’s Clemson had two guys like FSUs Benjamin and Watkins with that. No secondary can cover that. Like I said if anyone watches sc vs Clemson games as of late they would say Clemson beats Clemson with bad decision other than throwing the ball deep due and stop running the football. 2012 game Ellington was killing sc & they just stopped running the ball. I believe in a good system but don’t be arrogant with it if you can run do it till they stop it. Ps it makes no fn sense that Clemson can chase down braxton miller and contain him but not whatever his name was for SC. Bone head mistakes. But SC know I’m just saying is Clemson fault and you would have gotten murked by FSU this year.

Each team plays hard for their school and all deserve to win but unfortunately we all cannot win! SEC, ACC does not matter we cannot change the ranking, etc. It is what it is! Proud of both SC schools for their winning season and bowl wins! Love my Gamecocks always!

Reply

See, that’s where you are wrong. Clemson fans actually don’t give enough crap about Carolina fans to “give it to them 24/.7 365”. The backlash you do get from us is because of our frustration with you all for being so obnoxious! We have much bigger goals we want to accomplish for our program than just beating our rivals. We’ve done that already. Time and time again. How is your streak going to help you win a NC, or a conference title? Point is: At the end of the day, YOUR STREAK MEANS NOTHING!

You all sound ridiculous, especially all the non-SC or Auburn fans, since they are the only two teams relevant to this “article”. Obviously the USC fan was an idiot to post on an Auburn fan board. He was probably just trolling (maybe not even an SC fan) just like most of you commenting here.

Auburn congrats! Heck of a great season! It amazes me to how South Carolina fans attach their seasons to Alabama, Tennessee, Auburn, LSU, and Florida National Championship Seasons. I also find it interesting that why they have been celebrating five straight years of Clemson, they haven’t done anything in the conference that they are so happy to be a part of. They are so happy to down the accomplishments of their rival because, why they have won five straight, all they got to show for it is silly T-shirts and derange post. Clemson actually, in the same time, has won their conference, been to two BCS games, won one, and beat top 10 schools; proudly your Auburn Tigers were one of them (sorry for the brag!) But I kinda laugh at them to this point. Its unfortunate that they don’t get the pride of your team and fans. You guys aren’t the SEC. Your team happens to represent the passion and power of the SEC the right way…WINNING! You beat the top teams, you beat the teams you are suppose to, and you win your conference outright. And you do it with integrity without need to lump other’s accomplishments from the conference with your own! Keep it up and I hope our Tigers meet again in the playoffs this year! From one set of Tiger fans to yours, WAR EAGLE!!!

Done the RIGHT way. Not this, “we’re in the SEC so we should be in a BCS bowl game mentality…..” I’m out….win your games to gain some relevancy in your conference before they start writing articles about how you ride the successful teams’ coat tails….Oh…wait!!!

I’m a USC grad and as such I am a diehard Gamecocks fan. That being said its one thing to smack talk Clemson, but it’s an entirely different ballgame when you wanna start running your mouth at Auburn, Alabama, and LSU fans. Facts are facts, for the better part of our football career we have sucked ass. It’s only in the past few years that we have become “relevant”, so to speak. So until we string together some SEC titles and a few NC appearances it’s probably best to keep things in perspective. What other SEC teams have done doesn’t fill our trophy case. Let’s just continue to get better, and worry about our team, not what others are doing.

Clemson lost to Carolina, thus Carolina is the better team. I have a degree from Clemson, but its not needed to understand this concept. Sometime in the future this equation probably will change, but right now Carolina > Clemson.

Reply

Exactly the point. Clemson fans can be as happy as they would like to be about their season and bowl win, but trying to breathlessly to contort that into somehow being better or more relevant that Carolina is…desperate. Carolina won on the field (again, mind you) and finished above Clemson in BOTH NATIONAL polls.

That makes Carolina the better team by any way you stretch it.

Again, the whole article is dumb, but I suppose I am just as dumb for bothering to comment.

It didn’t sound like the USC fan was saying anything out of line about Auburn, as a matter of fact, many of my USC friends were in total support of Auburn last night simply because they are in the SEC. Listen, die hard USC fans are very accustomed to losing. Some years it’s all we can do to watch the games. We live with the chicken curse. But some years we win a few and that feels great. Should we all bail on our team just because they don’t always win? Do we not get to be proud when they do?

Seriously? I am over all the bickering. The elitist comments that fly around by individuals who have probably never played any sport on a collegiate level are getting old. We are FANS. We love our teams. Some love all the teams within their own state above all others. Some are loyal to a specific conference. Great. Cheer for your team, cheer for your conference. It’s okay to celebrate when your team wins. It’s okay to pull for another team when yours isn’t playing. Didn’t your coach (or in most of your cases, your Mother) teach you how to be a good sport? Stop whining. Life (and college football) aren’t always fair. Stop insulting each other in order to make yourself (or your chosen team) look better. I’m all for a good debate or a little smack talk when it comes to football. Truly, I am. But fans, and by that I mean fans from most every team, including some fans from my own team, have taken it to a whole new level in recent weeks.
As a long-time Gamecock fan, I have certainly had my share of heartache and disappointment. But here I stand, still a Gamecock. And I am elated and grateful and humbled and sentimental over this team of young men along with Coach Steve Spurrier who have worked so hard and done so much for The University of South Carolina, our football program, and yes, fans like me. They have so much to be proud of and Gamecock fans have a reason to celebrate. So for anyone to say that South Carolina football is irrelevant, that “Carolina is in Chapel Hill…” (you know the rest), that we don’t have a winning history… i submit this to you now. History does not always dictate nor predict the future. And it shouldn’t. This team has made history. Is it an SEC championship? no. Is it a National Title? no.
Does this mean that the talent, the new school records and the victories mean nothing? Please. They may mean nothing to the fan who cheers for another team… and that is fine. But to all my fellow Gamecock fans, we are hopeful. And i subscribe to the intellection that our future takes the past into consideration, but we will not be owned by it.
We can all debate in an honorable manner and smack talk with a sense of humor. I am not asking for all the SEC teams or ACC teams to sit down with us and sing Kum ba Yah. But I am asking this.
Stop whining. Stop hating. That is all.

Funny how Gamecock fans always mention”WE” when it comes to the conversations about the SEC being such a powerhouse of a conference, yet “THEY” haven’t really done anything to bring/keep the SEC into such prominence. As a Clemson fan and given the recent string of Gamecock victories, surely the previous statement seems futile coming from a “Tater”, but it sure is nice to read that Auburn fans apparently feel the same way and are willing to remind you of it as well. As for the “streak” here in the Palmetto state, seems I remember Coach Spurrier talking about first thing he did when he arrived on campus was take down all the “Beat Clemson” signs because they had bigger plans than that. Well, seems like now beating Clemson if foremost in his mind even on the heels of another 11 win season, and back to back trips to Sea World. Guess beating Clemson means more to the Coots than Spurrier originally thought? So the Gamecocks and Tigers finish the season in the top 10. Can’t we all just take a moment and enjoy that? Especially given the wretched seasons we all have endured as fans in the recent past? I’m for a good barbed punch as much as the next guy, but some people are just down right inappropriate on here. To me that’s the sad part of this whole thing. I think USCe is living on borrowed time and in all honesty Clemson may be as well. How about both sides pick on Georgia or something?? I know we will go back and forth about whose team is better, but in the end it sure would be nice if we could ease off the personal attacks in the process.

I didn’t realize sending out some support for another team in your conference could cause so much hostility. The SC fan was referring to the SEC as a whole. Relax AU fans, no one is trying to ride your coattails. SC fans are well aware they haven’t won a NC or SEC title, but what’s wrong with supporting another team within your conf who is competing? I would say that it’s standard to pull for a home team or conf team who is representing you. Also, as AU fans you should know first hand what it’s like to be considered the underdog in your state. It wasn’t that long ago you were all chanting “fear the thumb” to Bama fans. It was a big deal to you all to win 5 in a row. While SC may still be considered Vandy trash to the mighty powerhouses of the great SEC, be careful, college FB is unpredictable, let your guard down, and that Vandy “trash” or “annoying little sister” comes out of nowhere and ends up wrecking your perfect season.

Why is this even an argument right now. Clemson.. As hard as you want to compare to your older brother (per Kirk Herbstreit) y’all are not in the same boat as us. The fact that you compare your situation in the ACC, with playing schools like, Maryland, Boston college, (need I go on?) to our situation in the SEC is hilarious because that means you think we are equals.. Let me put it nicely, y’all are not equals, if you were in the SEC you would not be as relevant as you portray yourself to be when you’re playing in the ACC. I could rebuttal every one of the arguments you Clemson folk raise. Yes you won a BCS game, congratulations. But if we were in your shoes we woulda done the same thing, if not better. You wouldn’t have done the same thing we did if you played in the SEC I can guarantee that. At the end of the day, we have 3 11 win season and the past 5 state championships. You think winning a BCS game gives you talking rights against us? Let’s see how y’all do next year with the playoff system ha

At the end of the day FSU won the championship Auburn played great but came up short and should not hang their heads. Congrats to the coots beating us 5 times. It is kind of true that you guys (USC) hang on the coat tails of the other SEC teams just take your win against us and be happy. With that being said, see ya’ll in Tiger Town 2014!!!

How would we hang on to coat tails? That sounds so stupid…Are we a Vanderbilt or Kentucky? No…We have a legit program and its showing…Its just a shame nobody wants to give us any respect..We lost to a good GA team in the beginning of the season…Had it not been for the Tenn loss we would have been in the SEC title…And who knows then?

Jerod Swift Gilmore January 8, 2014 at 12:59 pm

Their best running back and work horse….. learn sports.. that makes a difference… and they still won

Jackie Chiles January 8, 2014 at 1:00 pm

So one offensive player was out or was it their best offensive players as you originally said?

Jerod Swift Gilmore January 8, 2014 at 1:03 pm

And their best WR who is their best offensive player after the QB… so 2 of their best 3 players

Jackie Chiles January 8, 2014 at 1:14 pm

Mitchell was injured 6 minutes into the Clemson game, so he really was out against Clemson as well. Both Marshall and Gurley played against SC, so I’m not really sure which “workhorse” running back didn’t play.

Gamecock4life January 8, 2014 at 2:29 pm

I forgot that a team only consists of 2 or 3 players..

Jackie Chiles January 8, 2014 at 4:08 pm

Please read University of South Carolina fans

You’re just an average, friendly dood who happens to not hate South Carolina, but wouldn’t send his kid there because it’s a substandard education and everyone who disagrees is a cocksucker. You’re not a clemson supporter, but Clemson you’d rather send your kids there, think their football team is superior. See Tigerstalker, SEC4EVA, Saban, and AUTIGER for how to properly troll.

First of all, as a state champion in track and football I would like to think of myself as more than average. I don’t have to think tat they have a superior football program to know that they actually have a program. Before five years ago, what is the gamecock history besides nonexistent? What is the main cocksucking argument besides five years. They can’t say seven years because they took no part in that besides losing to the SEC team that won the championship. So I guess South Carolina does have a part in history, Giving SEC teams a stepping stool to the Championship. Everyone says that all Clemson fans can do is hate, but at the end of the day they are still more successful than South Carolina even in their losses. I.E. (Win a bowl game then come talk.)

I find this post very hilarious. Lets school you in a history lesson. The University of South Carolina was a school before California was even a state. The Darla Moore School of Business has the #1 international business program in the country. So obviously, there is some type of quality education at this school. When it comes the Carolina, once again, South Carolina became a state before North Carolina. So the word Carolina belongs to South Carolina. No one is claiming South Carolina has an elite football program. It’s a football program that is building its way to that status. With any elite football program, it takes time to build your program to a national status as an elite team. Steve Spurrier has done an amazing job with that football program. The fans there have every right to be proud of their football program. They are finally building a great football program in South Carolina. Stop trying to make it seem like this school is not relavent in the SEC. Check the rankings on where South Carolina belongs in SEC for the past few years. The numbers show an upward trend for them in the SEC. The last time I check Texas Tech is not in the SEC. Haters are going to hate. Continue to hate on haters. I hope South Carolina proves all you haters wrong and I’m not even a South Carolina fan use to live in SC. Go Gators!

Lets school you in a history lesson. Now that’s a funny statement.
Obviously SC was a state before Cal or NC. That does not matter when we are talking sports jackass. When people talk sports these names refer to the other schools. Because these other schools are more well known and actually have a sports history. They may have a business school that is worth it’s salt, but it is international business. A school that not everyone has. Tell me that their actually business school is better than UNC’s and it would be a lie. Their business school is not ranked in the top 25 if international was not in it’s names and last time I checked, quality schools are above average in more than one area. All the other quality education I know of actually have standards to get into their schools as well. Yes, South Carolina fans do have a little to be proud of, but in the grand scheme of things what have they actually done? They have not won anything significant. I am not saying that they are not a good team, but the fans need to remember their place. How can a team with no significant victories downplay everyone else’s successes. South Carolina was building as a program, but they lost everything that they built up on offense in the the only two real threats they had: a quarterback and receiver, and the only defensive threat in Clowney. South Carolina has a chance to be good, but All I am saying is to tone down their trash talking a little until they get to be the Alabama and Auburn’s of the world. South Carolina has shown and upward trend in the SEC, the only place for them to really go was up. That does not mean that they are at the top simply because they improved. hell, Duke improved but they are not the best in the ACC. South Carolina cannot be relevant in the SEC until they win a title. My coaches used to tell me that second place is the spot held for the best loser. Last I checked, they aren’t even the best loser most years. South Carolina will be relevant to me the day they finally can say the words conference Champs or National Champs.

The last time I check Texas Tech is not in the SEC.

I misspoke and meant to say Texas A&M
I go to the Citadel in Charleston so I get to hear both sides of the Clemson-South Carolina argument and I am not hating. I am just pointing out facts and could care less if South Carolina does well. South Carolina needs to act like it’s been there before and stop talking so much shit until it actually win. And to the point go Gators, I don’t have anything bad to say about them. They may have had a bad year, but that was mainly due to a lot of bad injury problems. South Carolina couldn’t even hold their jockstraps.
I believe that I have answered everything that you have to say successfully and wouldn’t mind hearing more of your thoughts if you have any.

The last time I checked, you brought the education talk into the convo. So you sir are the jackass. My wife graduated from South Carolina and just finished med school two years ago and is working at one of the best hospitals in Florida. My brother graduated from SC as well from their business school and is working at GE in NYC. So obviously the education system isn’t so bad there sir for them to obtain employment at top notch employers. If you attend the Citdel why are you even on this article talking? I guess you have to make yourself feel relavent or something huh? If you could careless about South Carolina or Clemson once again, stay off these articles. Once again, I don’t think Carolina fans are saying they are elite and I don’t think that SC fan was downplaying anyone’s success. Matter of fact please tell me where have SC fans downplayed another teams success. I think it’s other teams fans downplaying the success South Carolina has had in recent years.A lot of these people never attend let alone graduated from these schools. Just a bunch of low life bandwagon fans.Yes, they need to win a SEC conference game and have an apperence in the NC to be an elite team. They are no where near the bottom feeders of the SEC anymore. The argument people will make if SC wins the SEC championship game is oh South Carolina got lucky or the SEC conference was weak. People are always going to down play someone else’s success no matter what. Bringing Duke into the talk has nothing to do with SC. Once again, for the past 3-4 years South Carolina has finished better than they have in many years of their football program.I agree second place is not always where you want to end up but it’s better than being at the bottom. Give South Carolina the credit they deserve. They will replace Connor Shaw, which was the best QB SC has had. The offensive line will not change. Dylan Thompson steps up as QB. The guy has experience playing. I remember the same argument being made when Connor took over as QB for SC. That they will suck..cough cough..Shaw was the best. SC will still have good receivers on offense. They are only losing Bruce Ellington. Clowney was an amazing player but the last time I checked, one player doesn’t make up a team. They played with one of the youngest teams in the country and still managed to pull off 11 wins. South Carolina will continue to be fine as long as they keep good recruits coming into that program. I have no dog in this fight because I graduated from UF. I root for SC anytime they are not playing my gators. I do think your comments are hater driven since you have no business in these talks.

BelieveTheHype January 9, 2014 at 11:25 am

First of all jackass, my last comment had nothing to do with education except my responses to your statements. I called you a jackass because you were trying to give me a history lesson on the states and when they became states. Everyone knows that is not important because WE ARE TALKING ABOUT SPORTS. Yes, South Carolina was ther first, but when people think of the names USC or Carolina, South Carolina is not who they would be referring to. Next, just because two people made it out of South Carolina successfully doesn’t mean that it is still a good school. Your wife graduated from their Med School. Last I checked you can’t get a medical degree as an undergraduate. Or were we not talking about South Carolina’s terrible undergraduate education. South Carolina has a decent undergraduate business program, but last I checked I gave credit to them for that and said they were terrible in almost every other category academically. Moreover, just because someone is successful from South Carolina doesn’t mean that the school is worth a damn. I can name over 100 schools that I would rather have a degree from (besides international business). Next, I bet I will feel pretty damn relevant when I graduate from the Citadel – MILITARY COLLEGE OF SOUTH CAROLINA and become an officer in the military, defending your country and risking my lives for everyone on this page right now. Or is that still no small feat? I can definitely say that I am going to do something worthy and honorable with my life so relevance is nothing I have to worry about. YOu are not even relevant in this article so why not stay off yourself. You can let your wife or brother come on if you would like. They are relevant in this conversation. Or are you going to ride her school dick because she went there? I am pretty sure you are only defending the school because of your wife and brother. And last I checked, this article is not about Clemson-South Carolina. It is about Auburn and South Carolina. South Carolina fans just get put in the corner when they start talking shit and say “But we beat Clemson 5 whole years in a row. Doesn’t that count for everything?” South Carolina fans will say Yes, Clemson won the orange bowl and finished with a good record, but we beat them so they had a shitty year. Auburn was the conference champ and went to the Rose bowl to play in the closest championship game in BCS history but they lost and were only there because we fucked up and lost to Tennessee. Great job making the SEC look bad Auburn. Who cares what any other team in the nation does. Come to the SEC so you can play a real schedule. Nobody said you were the best in the nation, but you would have 10 more loses on your schedule if you came to the SEC. I am giving South Carolina credit. I believe I already said they were a good team, but they cannot be relevant until they win something. I will go on record to say that historically they suck but, they have been an up and coming team for the last 5 to 6 years. That does no hide the fact that they are not there yet. You cannot say that people will not give South Carolina credit when they win because they haven’t been in that situation yet. Last I checked, they got to a championship game and people gave them credit for being there. The just had to give a young man by the name of Cam Newton a little more credit. I believe it will take time for South Carolina to get relevant and to replace what they are losing. They will replace all the people who are gone, but the QB will probably not be the play maker we see in Shaw. It also takes time to get that dynamic primary receiver back into the lineup and established. They may have other receivers, but none of them are Ellington. No Clowney does not make the team himself, but he himself changed the whole dynamic of the South Carolina defense if I may say so myself. Teams had to plan around him and work from there to be successful at times. Without him on the line (where games are won and lost by the way) South Carolina will have a good defense, but it will be nothing special. In fact, it will have a couple of holes that will be a little more noticeable. They had a young team last year, but that young team will have to still compete in the SEC with teams like Auburn who could potentially return damn near all of their starters. If you have no dog in the fight then you cannot say anything to me about trying to feel relevant. I have just as much right as anyone else on this page and just because I chose to go to a college where I can get ready to defend my nation does not mean I cannot be a fan of another school. You may perceive my thoughts to be hater driven, but I would tell Clemson fans to shut the fuck up until they beat South Carolina because they can say they had a good year, but they can’t afford to trash talk a rival that currently own them in football. I have not problem speaking the truth, but I believe that you are just a little butt-hurt because I made comments about your wife’s school.

Proguy28 January 10, 2014 at 4:46 pm

Look there is no need for name calling. Act your age. Not once in my first response did I call you anything negative. So, keep is classy sir. My wife did graduate from their undergrad program and got into UF’s med school. That was my point, the education system isn’t too bad outside of the business school for her to be accepted into UF’s med school. I know plenty of people who have graduated from SC and are doing well for themselves. Just because you think it’s a terrible school does not mean graduates from that school don’t go on and are successful. Be reasonable. Congrats to you for being at the Citadel and serving our country. That is nothing new to me. I myself served our country when I graduated from high school. After the military, I went on to graduate from UF and working on my masters right now. So I risked my life for this country and you when you were a kid. I am relavent in this article because as I previously stated, I lived in SC and almost all of my family in SC are South Carolina fans. I grew up with my dad taking me to football games. So I would say I do have some type ties to school. It’s history behind it. Now lets get to the real reason why we are here on this article. Have you taken the time to read the Auburn forum where the SC fan made that comment? If not, you should take the time to read the article. It wasn’t as bad as this article is making it seem. Yes, Auburn fans were talking crap but not at the level people are making it out to be. I think Auburn fans were just a little sensitive after that lost. They jumped all of the guy when he said one word “we” referring to the SEC. Attending a school in the SEC you typically pull for another SEC team especially in the National Championship. Auburn fans were just butt hurt they just lost the National title and when on attack. The guy when congratulated for a tough fought game but no they zoomed in on a couple of words the guy said and ran with it. Just a bunch fans over reacting. It’s a bunch of Clemson fans on this site making stupid comments so they are provoking the South Carolina fans to react. If Clemson fans would just stay off these articles I don’t think there would be any attacks on Clemson or any say about them beating Clemson 5 years straight. Don’t come to fight talking crap and don’t expect to be attacked. That goes for any fan from any team. Clemson fans need to stay in there place as well as Carolina fans. To your point that SC historically suck isn’t relavent now. The past is the past. You move forward and you learn from what didn’t work. I’m sure SC is focused on their future and not what happened in the past. I’m sure anyone can point to a time in history where a school sucked. It’s not just SC. No one gave SC that much credit when they made it to the SEC championship. They argument was made that the SEC east was weak. That’s the only reason SC made to the conference game. I even made that argument along with fellow gator fans. I think now if SC wins the SEC championship this year or in the future, people will give them credit because they have built a pretty good team. Now, when it comes to losing players, Dylan Thompson will not be Connor Shaw but the boy has an arm on him. He will be more of pocket passer rather than runner and passer like Shaw. I’ve watched in games personally to know this. South Carolina has Damiere Byrd and Shaq Roland. Damiere was is also one of their leading receivers. They also landed a really good 4 star wide receiver who will come in making a impact Shaq Davidson. He’s rated as the number 11 wide receiver out of all receivers in the country. On the D line they have the Dixon brothers who will step up and should make an impact as well.Their defense will have nothing to worry about. Those younger players have now had the experience they need to compete in the SEC. As you saw, South Carolina got a litte better towards the end of their schedule and end it with no I’m not butt hurt sir because my wife’s school has a special tie to me and my family. Sorry if you thought that.

Charles Ray January 8, 2014 at 1:25 pm

No it’s not. It’s like beating Clemson five years in a row by double digits, beating 5 teams that finished in the top 25, beating three teams that finished in the top 10, while Clemson beat exactly one (1) team that finished in the top 25. One. And you didn’t just lose to the eventual National Champions, you got thrashed by them in a completely non-competitive game AT HOME.If you want to pretend that winning your bowl was more important than any of South Carolina’s accomplishments because it had the letters ‘B’ ‘C’ and ‘S’ by it, then go right ahead, The rest of the nation outside of Pickens County knows what’s up so you can hang on to those delusions if they keep you warm at night.

As a gamecock fan and successful alumni, there is entirely too much of unnecessary back n forth. For one us Carolina fans must acknowledge that these past few seasons were so special b/c of all the pain of disappointing years from the past. We aren’t satisfied with just beating clemson or a top 10 finish, we want more. With that said for other SEC fans to assume that WE don’t matter is asinine. Everyone can see our team is on the rise and we are a threat to EVERY team we play. Things have changed around Columbia. Although we have no SEC championships yet, i am confident we will get there at the rate this program is accelerating. This ain’t about the past blunders, bowl games, or even 5 in a row. This is about now n the future. And we all know, if u have great facilities, great fan base, and great success it usually adds up to great recruiting. USC has all of these. Our future is bright. College football always will have you looking forward because players leave, coaches get fired, etc. so now is everything. And I don’t see too many teams in the country with a future as bright as ours. GO COCKS!

We do need to stop putting these clemson wins on a pedestal “even tho it feels so good to beat the second best acc team every year” we need to start winning the east and going to atlanta to become an ELETE sec program. we choked this year, we did but i think this is only the beginning spurrier is on top of his game and the east has been up for grabs and will continue to be. But as for auburn fans being little whiney bi***es about losing to a slightly better team after one hell of a season and to lash out at a carolina fan and fellow fan of the sec is pathetic. just shows that auburn fans are bama fans in orange and blue. one of the many things that makes the sec better than any other conference in the nation is the comradery and respect between teams and of course your gonna pull for the team in your league on the biggest stage and yes we havent won an sec tittle or even been to a “BCS” game and the only time we even got invited to atlanta we didnt show up. But going 33-6 in three years and having a 18 game home winning streak is the start of something special.

Show some class really?!#@!@# it was a gamecock fan that went to the AU Facebook page and posted the moronic statement about how AU let them and the SEC down. Show some class and mind your business own business the point every AU responder is try to make to gamecock fans who haven’t a clue what they are talking about, because they have never been there. For me, it simply wasn’t meant to be, that is the way the game goes as a spectator, and move on. Class in winning or losing is something shamecocks haven’t learned yet. Classless dolts.

H*ll Spurrier takes a shot a Clemson, so Clemson has to fire back…..Saban on National Television says during halftime “Gus is doing an excellent job”. which rivalry has more class?

Derrick January 9, 2014 at 8:18 am

First off, Todd Ellis spouted off at the mouth and it somehow got accredited to Spurrier, then Dabo went on a completely retarded 5 mile rampage. That’s where this stupid back-and-forth between the two started. Know your facts and quit pumping up propaganda clown. If you read the message board, you would know that the guy said nothing bad about Auburn and he even complimented them on their effort. In reality, Auburn didn’t play a good game, they played a good 2 quarters. So sit down if that horse shoe up your a$% will alllow you!! Go Cocks!!

With all due respect to Auburn , in all honesty , they are simply the “LUCKIEST” program in college football history and have had a horseshoe stuck up their War Eagle rear end since ‘Fig’ Newton was the QB there. FSU pulled it out ! As far as Clemson and South Carolina…Well let’s just say both brought home bowl victories for their state. As for the self proclaimed ‘Football Gods’ in Alabama , you boys were 0-2 ! Get some a that !!!

They talk about how they have a streak of wins against Clemson but how many BCS wins have they got? That’s some real fancy talk coming from the 11th all time in the SEC team. All rented hat and no cattle.

This reporter is obviously an usc grad, the reporting isn’t even accurate: He has usc at 11-2 & AU at 11-2, funny that they count the National Championship loss but not the SEC win. The correct AU record is 12 – 2. How many 12 win seasons does usc have?

The Gamecocks (11-2, 6-2 SEC) finished the 2013 season ranked No. 4 in the nation – two spots behind Auburn (11-2, 7-1 SEC).
Read more at https://www.fitsnews.com/2014/01/07/auburn-fans-blast-south-carolina/#3sJByOP2pAzXiRZz.99FYI 11 win seasons don’t mean much now since 14 can be played now. in the 90’s 11 was worth bragging about.

Some facts about the programs – Both started in 1892
Head to Head AU 9 -1-1 ( SC 2 losses in – 2010)
SC 1st Bowl Game 1946
AU 1st Bowl Game 1936 (Less than 5 bowl games played that year)

Bowl appearances : SC 19, AU 39
Bowl Record : SC 7-12, AU 23 – 14 -2
First Victory : SC 1995, AU 1937
Last 10 years SC 6-4, AU 8-2
Perfect seasons since SC Joined SEC- SC 0, AU 3

and our hope is these comments whet the Gamecocks’ already ravenous appetite for revenge.

For you Gamecocks that pick your college based on their football team. You ought to go check out http://www.ROI.com and see how much more $ those “dumb redneck” Clemson grads make more than you. LOL

Ok so I think everyone is just a little confused.. So I’m just going to try to stick to some obvious things to get my point across. First of all south Carolina is not a top team in the sec. They have zero titles. That settles that. They are a good team the past five years in the sec east. But still have been edged out every year. Two, Clemson lost to the number one team and the number four team. I wouldn’t call those bad losses. Carolina lost to two unranked teams. Clearly less respected losses. I know Carolina beat Clemson the past five years, but you have to remember that these are college kids. I agree that Dabo may have gotten out coached, but Spurrier has a lot more experience. Also this last loss Clemson had six turnovers, and Carolina won by two possessions. That’s not exactly a dominance. I don’t think a team has ever won with that many turnovers. Congrats to Florida state, auburn you played one hell of a game against a team that was simply just a well rounded team. You did a hell of a lot better than I thought you would. I don’t think any other team in college football could have played that close.

Reply
not so fast January 9, 2014 at 8:01 am

I think you are confused, SC is a top 4 national team that beat 3 top 10 teams and 6 bowl champions. Clemson did not. They did not beat 1 team in the top 10 and only 1 bowl champion. as far as the turn overs, you do know you won the bowl game on a turnover tight? you wont he UGA on a botched fg. its part of the game and the better team just makes less of them

All the comments that USC played a “weak schedule” is a completely funny excuse from the Taters. According to the power rankings put out by ESPN (which USC is again higher ranked than Clemson by the way), it shows that the SOS for USC was #15 and Clemson #53. I understand Clemson will try to warp this somehow but the truth, the facts, and flat out proof doesn’t lie. #15 or #53? #4 or #8? Head to head win, It just seems that Clemson is too stupid to see when they are beat so that make shit up. Spin that how you want, cry its a conspiracy, act like babies, but it would be smart to just go away until you finally beat us again. You are just embarrassing yourself. I guess we will see you in 2018 or something. Until then just go away

What Auburn fans say is true about the Gamecocks, me being a Gamecock fan, no one knows our frustration any better than me. But they can RUN their MOUTHS if they want, all I know is everytime we play them, WE have to go to Auburn…sounds like they are SCARED to come to Columbia, knowing the outcome. BUT when we come there next year & show them we AIN’T that Independent USC that left the ACC eons ago & lived in the basement for years & speaking of the Alabama mouth, the last time we played them while being coached by Nick Saban & they were Ranked #1, I’m sure you remember the outcome !!!! So if you Auburn fans are IDIOT enough to think USC is the same OLD team of years ago YOU BEST WAKE TF UP before next Oct. Spurrier changed things when he came to Columbia, mainly in stopping most of our GREAT home talent from leaving the state & playing their college carreer’s in other states LIKE ALABAMA & regardless what peeps in Alabama think or ANYWHERE else as far as I’m concerned… South Carolina has ALWAYS been a HUGE Football state & our high school talent matches any states BIG TIME, The one’s in the NFL now prove that. When I was young our high school Greenwood High used to go play these great Georgia, Alabama, Florida teams once a year like Valdosta GA, Lee High Ala. & Gainesville Fla. & EVERY year they would kick their Azzzz’es & our coach @ that time JW (Pinky) Babb was on his way to retiring as the winningest coach (High School, College or Pro) EVER !!!! & not to mention where does the winningest coach (thou not Babb) now HAIL ???? Thats right South Carolina (John McKissick) Summerville, SC. So all you Auburn fans can run your FAT mouths if you want, but we will show you next fall that we ain’t the OLD USC anymore & we will also put your national championship hopes, light OUT early so yall won’t have to worry about continuing that embarrassing streak of losing in the title game, like yall did in breaking the GOOD streak this year. Also if you look @ the final rankings of this year you’ll see we finished #4, next year, that would qualify us for the 4-team playoff, It will be nice to come to Jordan Hare (Rabbit Down The Hole) Stadium & KICK your ASS on your OWN field, I’m Looking Forward to It !!!!

Dear Auburn Fans,

I know being from the state of Alabama and and the SEC West it’s not often you get to take shots at football programs with less history than yourself, but thanks for the motivational pep talk! We all here in the SEC are very aware of your contribution to the title run, when you bought the best quarterback money could buy to win a title. I know they never proved that happened, they also didn’t prove OJ killed his wife but we all know he did it. Hey remember 2004 when Auburn went undefeated and was left out of the title game, because only 5 SEC teams were above .500. Why do you think that in 2004 an undefeated SEC team couldn’t play for the title, but during the 7 year run the SEC made not even a 1 loss SEC team was left out? Why did you play for the title over 1 loss Ohio St or Baylor? I will tell you why, because the SEC is strong and winning games across the board better than any other conference in the country! Where was Auburn last year and the year before while South Carolina was winning games and helping our conference stay on top of all others, so that your 1 loss Auburn team got to play for the title this year over Ohio St and Baylor? We may not have won a title in that 7 year stretch, but by our program getting better along with Vandy, Ole Miss, and Miss St it sure helped you get to play for those titles. By the way during that 7 year stretch of SEC titles, we went 59-32 and you went 58-32! To say programs like Vandy, South Carolina, Ole Miss, Arkansas, and Miss St didn’t contribute to the SEC’s success is ludicrous, and just shows your ignorance. We may not have the history or the titles Auburn has, but you will never have the class that Gamecock Nation has. Congrats on a good year, have a nice day!

Lets don’t talk PAST, Let’s talk PRESENT: Auburn had BEST change their offensive scheme if they plan on winning for very long. An 80% run offense does NOT last long in today’s NCAA Div. I.. If you’re not @ a minimum 50/50 Run/Pass OR a bit more towards the passing game & DEFINITELY not 80% Run LOLOLOL !!!! It won’t be long before even teams like Longshore AT&I have your # LMAO !!!! The Gamecocks BEST be a MAJOR concern for ALL you Auburn fans w/ an offensive scheme like that CRAP !!!!!!!! It makes your defense vunerable to the passing game because they rarely see it in practice & In case you haven’t noticed over the last 8 years, The Gamecocks have been DAMN good @ their passing game !!!!

That’s really classy of Auburn to turn their anger towards an entire fan base due to the comments of one fan. South Carolina is not irrelevant in the SEC. They have done a lot in the past years to name themselves as contendors. I’m pretty sure they would have put up a stronger fight against Florida State than Clemson’s beatdown. I’m not switching the argument to make excuses, but South Carolina has done huge things in the world of baseball where Auburn and Alabama have made no noise in recent years. The only reason Auburn owns a national championship in the last four years is Cam Newton, who we all know was paid under the table anyways. Alabama owns three due to a greedy coach who would probably leave them for UTEP if they paid more. Before the last five years Auburn and Alabama hadn’t done anything for twenty previous years, hiding behind the shadows of Florida and LSU. As far as I’m concerned South Caroina did something neither of those schools could do this year, win their bowl game!

SC is full of itself. They’re one of those conference lovers that take pride in what others do/accomplish…as if they had a hand in it. Just because 1 or 2 teams do very well in their season(s), it has squat to do with other teams in their conference. Keep rooting for your “conference” so you can bitch when other teams in your conference steal your recruits – buncha idiots! See what a 100 years of losing does to ya!
