Columbia – Today, state Sen. Vincent Sheheen announced his plans to run for governor in 2014. The SCDP released this statement from Chairman Dick Harpootlian:

“Three years ago Vincent Sheheen ran against Nikki Haley promising he could a better job than her..and obviously he was right. The people of South Carolina now have a chance to correct the mistake.

“South Carolina has one of the highest unemployment rates in the country, as it has for the last 10 years. Let’s not forget – Sheheen had more to do with bringing Boeing to South Carolina than Nikki Haley, considering he was actually present for the vote that brought them here.

“If Nikki Haley wants to talk about lifelong political candidates, maybe she should look in the mirror and remember the government has paid her paycheck almost her entire adult life where Vincent is a small business owner and attorney with a record of results.”
