Beginning October 1, South Carolina has been inundated with unprecedented amount of rainfall: More than two feet, in some places.
We’ve all seen the shocking images out of downtown Columbia (which got a foot of rain) and downtown Charleston (which got more than 16 inches).
How did the rest of the state fare?
From October 1-4, Mount Pleasant (located northeast of Charleston) received a whopping 27 inches of rain. Kingstree and Dalzell got 22 inches, while 21 inches fell on Georgetown. Nineteen inches fell on Sumter, 18 inches on Summerville, and 17 inches on Moncks Corner.
More rain is falling today, so expect those numbers to climb even further.

For some historical context, average annual rainfall in Charleston is 51 inches, while Columbia receives an estimated 46.3 inches a year.
