The 19-year-old daughter of a S.C. State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) agent was strangled to death on Saturday night in Laurens, S.C., unleashing a multi-jurisdictional probe into the circumstances surrounding her untimely passing.
Emily-Anna Asbill of Clinton, S.C. was found by local law enforcement officers shortly after 11:00 p.m. EDT Saturday.
“She was in the car with two men, two young men and one of them lived at that residence they went to,” a city official told WYFF TV 4 (NBC – Greenville-Spartanburg). “That’s where his dad lived. He went there for help, so it was his dad that made the call.”
Asbill was transported to a nearby hospital but it was too late – she was pronounced dead of asphyxiation due to strangulation.
Police have arrested 29-year-old Michael Vernon Beaty Jr. – also of Clinton, S.C. – and charged him with Asbill’s murder. According to The Clinton Chronicle, Beaty was Asbill’s “off and on” boyfriend. Police also arrested another man in connection with Asbill’s death – charging him with accessory to murder after the fact.

WOW! I feel for the father and family in their loss. The victim was a beautiful young lady. From looking at the pics of her “associates”, you can’t help but think, “is it any wonder”, though. That crew looks like they were taken off of the set of the TV show, “Justified”.
