In SC it is Against the Law to Hold Two offices at the Same Time! Such as; You can’t be an Elected Sheriff and Serve on a County Council, be The Mayor! This is Dual Office Holding Rule! Therefore You would Think Being an Officer of the Court (which ALL Attorneys Are) and Holding ANY Elected Office a Violation of That Rule!!

South Carolina strictly prohibits any person from holding two offices of honor or profit at the same time. Mandated by the state Constitution, this rule exists to prevent conflicts of interest and ensure public officials can dedicate their full attention to their duties. The Core RuleUnder Article VI, Section 3 and Article XVII, Section 1A of the South Carolina Constitution, no individual may hold two offices of honor or profit concurrently. If an individual holds one office and is elected or appointed to a second, taking the oath of the second office legally operates as an automatic resignation from the first. What Constitutes an “Office”?The South Carolina Supreme Court defines an “office” as a position where an individual exercises a portion of the sovereign power of the State. Characteristics of an office include:It is established by the Constitution or a statute.Duties involve executing public functions. It requires taking an official oath and meeting specific qualifications. It includes designated powers, discretion, and compensation.

The only professions that really benefits from being a politician are Lawyers & Developers. Lawyers get an immediate increase in clients, make laws that benefit them, and etc. Know wonder the US Gov. is so full of BS laws and complexity. They were all written to employ lawyers. Example: an Engineer politician immediately loses money. His services to city’s and towns is a profitable business. He now gives away for free. Developers use loop holes to destroy lands, ruin existing people’s lives, and cause massive environmental damages. None of which they have to pay for. Just passing the costs on to existing property owners. This is the main reason Democracy’s all fail: Greed. The USA looks more like Communist China every single day.
