South Carolina Closed Primary Debate: New Bill Introduced
“When it comes to passing conservative policies, South Carolina is always dead last among Republican states. Open primaries are a major contributor to that.”

“Pace is chairman of the S.C. Freedom Caucus:, and nothing says freedom like trying to limit voting. If Pace really believed in freedom wouldn’t he be advocating for the jungle primary model?
Considering the 2026 Republican candidates for the U.S. Senate, the U. S. House of Representatives, as well as the Governor’s office, unless they added “None of the above” to the ballot, I can’t imagine why any self-respecting Democrat would want to vote in the Republican primary. This bill, like so many proposed by rightwingers in search of like-minded support, seems to be an another solution in search of a problem.
