NO. 2 IN DRUGS …
Coastal Carolina University is the nation’s leader in alcohol violations among students and ranks second nationally in drug violations among students.
According to a report prepared by ProjectKnow.com, the school reported a whopping 1,070 alcohol violations per 10,000 students – easily besting Marquette University’s 932 violations. Meanwhile Coastal Carolina’s 330 drug violations ranked second nationally behind the University of California-Santa Cruz.
The report – which compared wet and dry campuses across the country – calculated alcohol and drug arrests as well as disciplinary actions issued by the school.
Are we surprised? Um … no.
Coastal Carolina is the definition of a party school, people. And has been for years.
News of the report was first published in the Palmetto State by Maya Prabhu of The (Charleston, S.C.) Post and Courier – which is making a major play for readers in the Grand Strand region of the state.
