ANOTHER APPEASEMENT …
U.S. president Barack Obama‘s administration privately agreed to let Iran ignore key conditions of a controversial nuclear deal with the United States – the latest example of an ongoing policy of appeasement related to the increasingly aggressive Islamic Republic.
According to the Washington, D.C.-based Institute for Science and International Security, Obama’s administration allowed “secret or confidential documents” to become part of the controversial agreement.
Not only that, had Obama’s negotiators “not acted to create these exemptions, some of Iran’s nuclear facilities would not have been in compliance” with the widely-pilloried nuclear deal, the think tank concluded.
None of these conditions have ever been publicly released. However according to the institute’s analysts, Obama’s “secretive decision making process risks advantaging Iran by allowing it to try to systematically weaken” the nuclear agreement.
News of this alleged appeasement could not come at a worse time for Obama – whose administration effectively admitted paying ransom for hostages held in Iran last month.
Critics pounced on the latest scandal … slamming Obama as well as Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, who played a key role in the deal with Iran (and whose corporate cronies profited handsomely from it).
“The deeply flawed nuclear deal Hillary Clinton secretly spearheaded with Iran looks worse and worse by the day,” lieutenant general Mike Flynn said. “It’s now clear President Obama gave away the store to secure a weak agreement that is full of loopholes, never ultimately blocks Iran from nuclear weapons, emboldens our enemies and funds terrorism.”
The revelation also prompted a swift rebuke from U.S. Senator Bob Corker, a “Republican” from Tennessee.
Corker said Obama had been “willing to accommodate Iran at every turn to implement a flawed agreement that granted Tehran billions in sanction relief and paved the way for the industrialization of its nuclear program.”
With all due respect to Corker, he needs to look in the mirror. And so does every other “Republican” in the U.S. Congress.
Obama has indeed been appeasing Iran, but his nuclear deal never would have come off without Corker’s assistance.
Basically Corker turned a treaty requiring 67 votes to pass into a normal piece of legislation that Obama only needed 41 votes to block.
That’s right … the “Republican” party owns this deal every bit as much as Obama.
By contrast, GOP nominee Donald Trump opposed the deal from the very beginning – accusing Obama of dealing “from desperation.”
“You know the Iranians are going to cheat,” he said at the time.
Apparently, they didn’t have to … America rigged the game for them.
To be clear: This website has never bought into the neoconservative scaremongering regarding Iran. We’re not idiots. This isn’t about a nuclear threat against the United States, this is about bending over for Israel – a nation which continues to bark orders at our country (even though it relies upon U.S. taxpayers to subsidize its wars of aggression).
Of course for “Republicans” who trip over themselves to pledge allegiance to the Star of David, the fact that this deal ever saw the light of day is embarrassing.
