Uber-Liberal Billionaire Will Leave America If Donald Trump Wins

Uber-liberal billionaire Barry Diller – whose business empire includes the left-leaning Daily Beast website – says he will leave the United States in the event Donald Trump is elected president.

Diller, CEO of IAC/InterActiveCorp, told Bloomberg that if Trump wins he will “either move out of the country or join the resistance.”

“Donald Trump, all he is is about conflict, and all that he is is negative conflict,”  Diller told the wire service.  “He’s a self-promoting huckster who found a vein. A vein of meanness and nastiness.”

According to Diller, Trump “has no communication strategy – except to be what he has always been, a nasty mean person criticizing people and doing, you know, silly kind of showman stuff.”

Ouch … although that sounds eerily familiar to the “Republican” criticisms of Trump, doesn’t it?

Diller has contributed in the past to liberal politicians like Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and John McCain, all frequent targets of Trump’s criticisms.

trump has 25% support and it is coming from the most radical element of the republican party, it may be enough to get him the nomination, but there are enough republicans that are not bat shit crazy that he has no chance of winning the general.

You are wrong. Trump will take the nomination and then will defeat Hillary. He will appeal to a wide swath of people tired of the status quo.

so the moderate republicans that are doing everything in their power to knock him off are going to do a 180 if the republican crazies nominate him, i don’t think so.

Ignoring your personal characterizations of the Trump supporters; yes, left of center, moderate and conservative Republicans will support the nominee over Hillary. That will account for about 45+- percent of the electorate. In addition he will pull enough independents to take him over the top.

Trump's Worst Enemy October 7, 2015 at 2:37 pm

If Trump was actually running with the intention of winning, instead of the real reason he’s running being that he wants Hillary to win, his mouth would eventually scare the daylights out of most moderates and cost him the election. He is not going to win.

Trump 2016 October 7, 2015 at 3:56 pm

Moderates love Trump. He supports higher taxes on the wealthy and reduced deficits. He has not attacked Social Security or Medicare. He has said little about Abortion, and he is definitely not a hyper religious guy who goes around saying god told him to run.

The Buzzman October 8, 2015 at 2:22 am

No. He wants Jeb to win.

I’m glad Trump is having ‘good fun’ making a joke of the GOP and American elections in general.

stumpknocker October 7, 2015 at 2:07 pm

these nuts don’t know their history, the republicans in new york state liked her so much, the party could not find a viable republican to run against her in second run for the senate, to think those same republicans that voted for her are now going to vote for trump is just idiotic.

Trump 2016 October 7, 2015 at 3:04 pm

Trump does not need to win New York. No Republican has won New York in decades. He will carry Florida and Ohio. It is unlikely a Democrat can win without one of those states.

Trump 2016 October 7, 2015 at 2:10 pm

You will change your tune by the end of March. Trump will have the Republican Party Nomination sewed up by that time. Then he can turn his attention to Hillary.

stumpknocker October 7, 2015 at 2:13 pm

you might want to read up on trump university, cause you are damn sure gonna hear about it if he gets the nomination, and that is just the tip of the iceberg

Trump 2016 October 7, 2015 at 2:17 pm

Bring it on. He can take it. As he would say, if he can’t he shouldn’t be President. He has nothing to hide.

stumpknocker October 7, 2015 at 2:20 pm

only in sc can a family values candidate like mark sanford get elected, sorry dude, the rest of the country ain’t that bat shit crazy, i am sure he will carry sc, but not the states that he needs to get elected.

Trump 2016 October 7, 2015 at 2:28 pm

For the Republican nomination, he currently leads in Iowa, New Hampshire, SC, Ohio, and Florida. Nationwide he leads by 10 points over his next Republican challenger. I would say that is fairly wide spread support. Not just little old South Carolina. In Florida he trounces both Rubio and Bush.

You need to start accepting the fact that this is happening.

Trump 2016 October 7, 2015 at 1:57 pm

The GOP establishment, Fox News, Beck, the Koch Brothers, etc. etc. have been saying the same thing since this election began. He has been relentlessly attacked by the establishment candidates and the Koch puppets. They have tried everything to make him go away because he is the only candidate who they cannot buy or control. Yet still he holds his lead. They are slowly accepting the fact that he will win; as evidenced by their growing panic. Hillary should feel the same way.

Trump 2016 October 7, 2015 at 2:06 pm

The next elections for Trump is the upcoming series of primaries; most of which he will win. After that he will turn his attention to the general election, which he will win..

If Donald Trump wins, the Detroit Lions will win 9 Super Bowls. In a row. Undefeated.

I mean, it has just as much a chance of happening as Donald Trump being president, right?

Sorry, I wasn’t looking at through a prism of left / right, just annoying celebs, but once you mentioned I did an intensive 60-second bout of research on the intergoogle and found that, shockingly, most clowns who pronounce that they will be huffing out of the US if an election doesn’t go their way do tend to be a little (or a lot, actually) leftish:

http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/outrage/leave.asp Even Snopes gets it!

http://www.starpulse.com/news/index.php/2008/11/04/bon_voyage_celebrity_who_threaten_to_lea Akon will move back to Africa! Whoever he is…

http://www.mediaite.com/online/im-moving-to-canada-and-other-recent-overreactions-to-political-events/ This one centers upon the Mitt Romney election – although it reached back to Tina Fe, who actually threatened to leave EARTH if Sarah Palin was elected VP. That’s quality humor, though…

http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2000-12-06/news/0012060166_1_al-gore-celebrities-stars This one is neat – it profiles the few conservative celebs in the biz – who it notes, by the way, don’t generally threaten to leave the country if a Dem wins. Just sayin’…

https://ferrellgummit.wordpress.com/2011/07/27/hollywood-celebs-threatening-to-leave-us-in-2012-%E2%80%93-first-out-of-the-gate-please-give-a-big-shout-out-to-george-lopez/ This one is great too…George Lopez claimed that all latinos would move back to mexico if Palin got elected, right before he said that he would actually move to Canada.

So, it would seem even to a casual observer that the folks on teh left get a little more apoplectic and are a lot quicker to threaten to leave the good ol’ USA. Your point about Texas is a bit off, too. That’s secession, which makes turning in one’s passport unnecessary. ;-)

Reply
SCBlues October 9, 2015 at 1:51 pm

LOL Have you ever been to a Tea Party event? I have. You want apoplectic, go to one. What is the population of Texas these days anyway? Your selective searches and selective disclosure of information does not impress me – reminds me of Gowdy’s Benghazi committee and their selective leaks of info. You know what I think Michael? I think you are a closet liberal – but just do not want to admit it due to “peer pressure” here in good ol’ SC. Anywho, you will not be getting an upvote from me today and I know how much you treasure those.

Reply
Mike at the Beach October 9, 2015 at 2:45 pm

Holy shit babe! So much to deal with in one short rant!

My “selective search” was (as I described) about 30-60 seconds of typing in “people who threaten to leave US if candidate wins election.” Those couple of sites I linked were all on the first page of 10 hits. It is what it is…

Texas? I have no idea what that’s all about, but I’m still a little befuddles at the thought of you at a Tea Party event! I’ve never been to one, because like many sane people I can deduce from their online presence that I don’t need to swing by. people who say that you have to experience something first hand are misguided. I’ve never eaten a turd, but i am certain that I don’t want to.

To your upvotes…I do so cherish those, but you’ll be back. You all come back eventually because you know deep down I love and respect you, even when you find the lipstick on my collar. ;-)

With all your honor and dignity, what would you do? Please don’t answer without giving it serious thought. By giving an honest answer you will be able to test where you stand morally.

The test features an unlikely, completely fictional situation, where you will have to make a decision one way or the other. Please scroll down slowly and consider each line – this is important for the test to work accurately.

You’re in Florida … in Miami, to be exact. There is great chaos going on around you, caused by a hurricane and severe floods. There are huge masses of water all over you. You are a news photographer and you are in the middle of this great disaster. The situation is nearly hopeless. You’re trying to shoot very impressive photos. There are houses and people floating around you, disappearing into the water. Nature is showing all its destructive power.

Suddenly you see a man in the water, fighting for his life, trying not to be taken away by the masses of water and mud. You move closer. Somehow the man looks familiar.

Suddenly you know who it is – it’s Donald Trump!

At the same time you notice that the raging waters are about to take him away, forever. You have two options. You can save him or you can take the best photo of your life. So you can save the life of Donald Trump, or you can shoot a Pulitzer prize winning
photo, a unique photo displaying the death of one of the world’s most powerful men.

And here’s the question (please give an honest answer):

Would you select color film, or rather go with the simplicity of classic black and white?
