Politicians like to call themselves “rock stars,” but they’re not. Rock stars fill arenas. Politicians – even widely known ones – have trouble getting people to pay attention to them near arenas.
That’s why politicians love to cozy up to celebrities … especially athletes. It’s called “jock-sniffing,” and the premise behind the practice is transference. If a politician can get a popular athlete to stand beside them, some of the “cool” factor rubs off.

Take this weekend’s “Gamecocks for Graham” barbecue bash at the Carolina Field House in Columbia, S.C.
A fundraiser for U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham, the event is being headlined by former University of South Carolina Heisman Trophy winner George Rogers.
What does Rogers know about politics? Good question …
Nonetheless, joining him are former Gamecock greats including Tommy Suggs, Steve Taneyhill, Anthony Wright and … Kenny Miles.
Wait … Kenny Miles?
As in the former USC running back mixed up in a bizarre shooting scandal? As in the guy who is currently facing up to five years in prison for filing a false police report?

Hmmmm … we’ve heard a lot of theories about what really happened to Kenny Miles, but nothing we can print (at this point).
Whatever happened, given the charges Miles is facing it’s probably not a wise idea for Graham to use him in this capacity.

Just shows how detached Graham is from what is actually going on in the state he supposedly represents.
Fits, why the obsession with Miles, it’s as if you are a Jock Sniffer want-a-be.
The obsession? Dude shot himself. Lied about it. Is facing jail time. Works for a statewide official. And now appears on a fundraising invite in the most high-profile political race in the state. I’m not obsessed, I’m doing my job … and to be honest FITS has given Miles more benefit of the doubt in its coverage than any other outlet.
Perhaps the Governess Haley could give him a pardon — for humanitarian reasons…..
Yes he did all that and yes there is a fundraiser that deserves no more coverage than the politician himself. Sometimes rotten fruit should just wither on the vine.
A couple of points – this invite has been out for several weeks. When was the last time someone got 5 years for filing a false police report? half of society would be locked up. And finally Kenny was a dumbass for that….pussy remains undefeated.
Alan Wilson, the greatest jock sniffer of them all, has used Gamecock soccer and football players for years to raise money. So this is nothing knew.
I bet Lindsey is doing more than sniffing.

Sakerlina later put out a bumper sticker that said : “Don’t send Flowers to your mother.”, which referenced allegations that Clemson star running back, Kenny Flowers had sexually assaulted a recruit’s mother during the recruit’s campus visit.
By the way, TBG “got” Will’s E.F. Hutton reference the other day and is now sorting through his 8-Tracks and loading up the Corvair to go “See Rock City”.
This makes perfect sense. Graham counts supporters so stupid that they manage to shoot themselves. and just to make everyone know’s he stupid, he goes and files a false police report to remove all doubt.
Kenny used a .357 which was located in the trunk of his car. He obviously is not the sharpest knife in the drawer considering he posses a Criminal Justice

I had a phone call from one of those Lindsey Graham phone thingies, the moment his name was mentioned was the moment the caller likely heard an abrupt click followed by dead air.
Lindsey won’t get any “cool” rubbed off on him. The turd sticks to the shoe, not the other way around. Those poor Gamecocks…
George Rogers is one of the nicest and dumbest guys around – he don’t know jack about politics, making him the perfect Graham supporter!

This smells desperate for Graham. Todd Ellis is a liberal trial lawyer who tweeted in the past about his Democrat ties. Blake Mitchell is an idiot who probably is still registered to vote in Georgia. While a great guy, George Rogers has had well-documented personal problems in the past.
The word at the tailgate tonight is that a white woman’s husband who was/is just a little po that KM was poking his wife shot KM. Lots of covering up still going on. Law enforcement and City of Columbia po po thrilled it was a white man. Sheesh, as Sic would say.
