So here’s James P. “Jim” Clements – who was chosen today as the fifteenth president of Clemson University.
How was Clements selected? By the school’s board of trustees, of course, which as we noted in this post is a totally unconstitutional entity.
But whatever … who cares about the law when hundreds of millions of tax dollars are at stake, right?
Clements takes over at Clemson after four years at West Virginia University, the school that administered a historic beat down of Clemson in the 2012 Orange Bowl (hence the inspiration for our headline).
“Dr. Clements is a distinguished scholar, a nationally recognized voice in higher education and a proven leader who understands the unique mission of land-grant universities,” said former S.C. House Speaker David Wilkins, one of those unconstitutional Clemson board members. “We are confident he is the right person to lead Clemson University to the next level as a great public research university.”
Or to continue pissing away money on superfluity (wind turbines? Confederate submarines?) subsidized by taxpayers and skyrocketing tuition …
Clements replaces longtime president James Barker, who was well on his way to realizing his dream of making Clemson a Top 20 national public university … until he got busted trying to game the national rankings.
Barker is leaving to take a six-figure taxpayer-funded job at Clemson’s architectural school in Charleston, S.C., a $15 million example of mission creep he successfully pushed for during his tenure.
How convenient, right?
Oh well … welcome to the neighborhood, man.

You may as well bring back the Lewinsky jokes.
That’s about as old as your momma.
HuH? There are Lewinsky jokes?
Oh dear, you know what happens when West Virginia scores against Clemson… a former USC player blows his head off. Who will it be this time?
Can’t believe some shit head upvoted this comment. Both you and the upvoter are true shit heads.
Guilty as charged.
Chicken curse.
Chicken curse was removed in the exorcism known as the 2010 college World Series, where it was transferred to the Tigers.
College baseball… might as well be bragging about your National Equestrian Championship.
And they will, if you let them.
since Clemson cant win ANYTHING anymore, what the fuck can they brag about? lol
cuvinny did and he aint nothing but a punk ass pussy too. the rest did it as guests so that proves there are.
lol
your mom did what to someone? blew them? or took it up her ass? people that can say stupid crap like you do only because you are behind your computer are nothing more than little pussies.
Snort, West Virginia scores on Clemson, former Gamecunt sticks a gun in his mouth, and the best you can come up with is a “your mama” comeback with a keyboard threat. You must be from Redbank.
no, I actually called you a pussy. I guess you cant read you dumbass little pussy
UPDATE – Kenny missed his head and shot himself in the arm.
The architectural school in Charleston should have gone to the other university in SC that grants an architecture degree….Oh wait! There is no other one.
Still, most folks think of Clemson as a bunch of hicks. How’s ya maw and them?
Most folks where..in Cayce? I just wonder how many USC “fans” ever darkened a doorstep of any insitution of learning other than what they were mandated by law to do.
Clemson was founded by a bunch of sore-assed hicks who wanted a cow college. The University of South Carolina didn’t offer farming classes. They got it! Modeled after Miss State. Read your charter you bumpkins!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’ve seen a bunch of toothless “hillbillies” sitting on porches in Cayce wearing orange overalls or that ugly tiger paw on a shirt with pants while wearing suspenders you hypocrite. I would be willing to bet there are more non Clemson students as fans of that over rated piece of shit university than there are pulling for USC
I hear the Clemson architectural dept is busy working on a two story outhouse design……So far the only problem is the people on the first floor have to wear raincoats. Yuck!
I don’t stick up for Clemson or Carolina here normally, but…. Clemson has one of the top architectural schools in the country. Find something they actually suck at to make fun of!
Cheers!
WEST VIRGINIA SCORED AGAIN!
So did Tenne*fuckin*see, beetchez!!!

Why is Clemson in better shape than the rest of America? Because Clemson has a new president!
Best post in here, can’t top that.
Presidents of Auburn and Duke are automatically off any search list next time USC Jr is looking for a President. Why? Because USC Jr has never defeated Auburn in football and they have a losing series record against Duke. That makes as much sense as Sic Willie making any reference to a football game in Clemson’s selection. But then that is the “mind” of Sic Willie.
Some of you Tigers are a sensitive bunch.
How did they convince Sparky Woods to run Clemson?
USC-original vs. Auburn (1-8-1)

I can’t wait to hear him say “I was wrong” but I know that I’ll have to because he lacks the self-confidence to admit it. And even if he does, he’ll immediately emphasize the fact that USC-original hasn’t beaten Auburn since 1933, which — as a history buff — he should know was about 37 years after the hapless Walter Riggs left Auburn to start Clemson’s football program, in the process stealing Auburn’s mascot and colors — and even a few uniforms — to start the Clemson Tigers or “Auburn Lite”.

Thank God we’re just a few weeks away from USC-original’s annual silencing of CNSYD.
Cocks also lost to Auburn at Billy Brice in 2011, in our annual “Should have won but didn’t, so gave the SEC East to Georgia” game. 16-13 was the final score.
I was merely following USC Jr rules and only counted 1996 to present. You know how you USC Jr boys cry foul (or in your case is it fowl) any time Clemson brings up the USC Jr/Clemson series record. You state that only “modern” games count.
You’re lying. You were just wrong but being a father-screwing socialist you would never admit it. Just like your queer-bait father.
^That wasn’t me. Man up dude. At least post using your own alias.
You deny that only “recent events” exist when USC Jr touts its record? BTW your profane attempts are so “manly” as you hide behind a screen name that is not even yours. But then I would expect no less from a chicken fan.
“a proven leader who understands the unique mission of land-grant universities”
That might be an interesting change.
Barker is reputed to be lukewarm on agriculture and horticulture and big-big on engineering.
Barker is correct to have been reluctant to continue the disproportionate share of revenues thrown at the Ag sector. One only has to look at the continued shrinkage of farm numbers and the commercialization of ag technology and its teaching and educational activities in disseminating agricultural research, methods and information.
It’s not your uncle’s nor your cousin’s agriculture anymore.
Seems like a good guy. Even though the trustees operated in total secrecy, not involving faculty or staff in the search, they may have gotten something right for a change. Of course, one might be curious about an incoming president who did not see that as a red flag for a dysfunctional university.
I am sure that the boards of directors of Fortune 500 companies consult the employees when choosing a new CEO. Face what planet are you from?
I realize you have never been out of South Carolina, so I’ll take it easy on you. In the civilized world, far, far away from here, university trustees look to faculty for insight on academic leaders. That way they don’t end up with frauds and idiots at the helm. Because the Clemson board of trustees is still living in 1860 and believes that South Carolina can still have a caste system, they ignore the people who actually have the talent. As tired old Dixies from a different time, they want to believe they are still in charge of the plantation. The reality is that every presidential search committee in the United States has representatives from the faculty and staff. Go figure that South Carolina would have the only insular, secretive search committee. But as I say, they may have stumbled upon a decent hire.
I am afraid that your insular academic world is showing. Academics have no clue when it comes to the business world. They totally do not understand the golden rule. Academics are merely employees. So go ahead and make your grandiose statements like ” every presidential search committee”. You do not have direct knowledge of what every committee has ever done so your statement is meaningless. The BoT is in charge and acts accordingly just as any business board of directors would. News alert for you, a university is a business. You academics can sit around all day discussing sonnets but that doesn’t pay the power bill.
Reading your posts is tiring. Your thoughts are confused and confusing. Thank the good Lord I will never have to speak to you. “insular”, “grandiose”, “discussing sonnets”, Oh.. brother, yawn.
Looking at Clemson’s BOT’s…
http://www.clemson.edu/administration/bot/board.html
They appear to be a pretty well rounded, successfull and diverse group. I think not only are you just full of shit, you really have no idea what you are talking about.
No, you are full of shit. I could not care less what people put in their biographies. They are a group of individuals who operate in secret and expect everyone else to follow along without question. That may work in South Carolina, where people don’t know any better, but it does not work in places where individuals can think for themselves.
Your lack of success in life is shown by your jealousy of their accomplishments.
Rest assured, I am jealous of no one.
I bet MUSC is going to have a hell of a time to find a President who can get along with Etta Pisano. Let’s see how long that search takes. Greenburg himself said it would not be a fast process. The board of trustees agreed.
Somewhere there is a couch burning over this news…
Slick Willie, they do not call you that for nothing, you did it again. You threw out some worthless drivel about a new upstate president (from WVA, of all places) and got the attraction from the bunch of liberal idiots who post here daily, especially CNSYD. This guy, gal or queer must be an unemployed liberal on the Obama’s handout list with nothing to do but respond to any silly ass posts about Clemson A&M. I would hazard to guess he is one of those 7-11 football fans that stops at 7-11 on his way and return from a game up there for a 6-pac of Red Top Ale. His knowledge re CU is probably confined to the athletic venues. Like many of those fans who have never been on an athletic field, he uses the wins against the inferior ACC teams for vicarious pleasure, beating his chest as if he somehow contributed to the win because he has done nothing worthless in life to point to or brag about.
“because he has done nothing worthless in life”…uh..what?
Stick with short syllables and one liners. Might make it easier to proof read.
Scok, if the site had an editing vehicle, it would have been “worthy.”
Anyone with an nth degree of intellect would have recognized that, but not you? You are such a pissy little proofer. You get vicarious pleasure proofreading or other things? Or, maybe you did not like my use of the d “queer” word?
Maybe you’re just a dumbass. Yep. Thats it.
People with tiny peckers, without a valid point, do nothing but point out mistakes written in the comment section of a blog to try to make it appear they are actually saying something of value. Other than that not such a “Norma Scok” has nothing else he could ever say, other than act like the little troll he is.
Tell me again about that banner at Willy Brice touting your one and only ACC championship. I am still looking for your SEC championship banner. I will look again on Nov. 30.
Look also for the John Deere Banner of Achievement at ClemTech’s last home game this year against the Citadel. I remember it was awarded in 1968 to Euenla Pickens, first female ClemTech graduate and champion pig caller at the Pumpkintown follies, of the same year. She was also voted best dressed.
CNSYD, bragging about Clem’s football team’s history is like telling someone how great your ex-wife’s pussy was 30 years ago. Remember this CNSYD: “It’s the last good feeling that counts.” I’m feeling good!
Just when Fits hits the bottom they dig a hole. CU haters there is counseling available.
All officers of the State and its political subdivisions work for governments, agencies and/or departments whose existence is owed to the State Constitution or acts of the General Assembly. This is not the case for the seven Life Trustees, whose responsibilities and duties are not the result of an amendment, act or bill, but rather stem from the private will of Thomas Green Clemson. Furthermore, his bequest pre-dates the State Constitution’s ratification by approximately seven years. As such, I think you can distinguish these trustees from an employee of DHEC, DSS or the DOT.
I think you might want to look into the Act of Acceptance.
Since Sic Willie is so hung up on the Clemson BoT and the state constitution, I suggest he take all his royalties from the publishing of his book on his relationship with Haley and pay a constitution lawyer to get this straightened out once and for all.
Clemson loses to WVU by 37 and it’s the most embarrassing game in the university’s history. USC loses to Auburn by 39 and it’s the greatest moment in the school’s history. Explain that?
So is the problem with South Carolina Colleges that their tuition is rising, or is it that the state shouldn’t support higher education? Tuition is high at SC public colleges, so we should make them private, because private colleges have lower tuition. Right? Government should be run like a business, and everyone knows that businesses don’t need or value education. And the state shouldn’t spend money on things (because it’s immoral!), and should just help create jobs, which everyone knows requires no investment whatsoever. Let me be the first to suggest a handy flow-chart, Will. Put it between the pages of Atlas Shrugged (that aren’t stuck together) for safe keeping.
