Columbia –South Carolina hit another milestone in the hacking scandal yesterday as the deadline to apply for credit monitoring passed with less than half of the affected people enrolled. But today, after nearly six months, Governor Haley still has not apologized to the millions of South Carolinians now at risk of identity theft because of her administration’s security failures.
“It’s been months since the tax information of 6.4 million consumers and businesses was stolen and Governor Haley’s refusal to apologize only adds insult to grievous injury,” said SCDP Chairman Dick Harpootlian. “Even Mark Sanford tried to apologize for the embarrassment he brought to the State, but Nikki Haley doesn’t seem to have it in her to say she’s sorry. Time to apologize.”
The SCDP released this video: “Time to Apologize”
