If you’re a Republican voting for Darline Graham, you are voting for exactly what you are against! Darline Graham’s own team is responsible for legalizing LGBTQ-related classroom curriculum in South Carolina schools hence why Black History Month was recently co-opted to slip in LGBTQ advocacy.
Kevin Hall, Lindsey Graham’s former legal counsel and the treasurer of Security Is Strength PAC – which has spent millions of dollars supporting Darline – credits himself with catalyzing a 2020 federal lawsuit that overturned a South Carolina law prohibiting classroom discussion of same-sex relationships in public schools.
As an attorney at Womble Bond Dickinson in Columbia, Kevin Hall spearheaded the case, Gender and Sexuality Alliance v. Spearman, while also serving as Founder and Co-Chair of Womble PRIDE, his firm’s LGBTQ affinity group.
To win the case, he teamed up with South Carolina Equality, Lambda Legal and the Campaign for Southern Equality. Of those folks, he stated that they were “all tremendously talented folks and really good people, they do a great job.”

What did Hall do to celebrate his success? He accepted the 2021 Diversity & Inclusion Award from North Carolina/South Carolina Lawyers Weekly, and he became a panelist speaker at the LGBTQ+ Lavender Law Conference, where he has spoken on topics such as: Pushing Back Against ‘No Promo Homo’ Laws and Other Restrictions on LGBTQ-Affirming Curricular Content; Red State Rebuttal – Advocating for LGBTQ Clients in Conservative Regions; Advocacy with a Drawl, and Y’all: A Case Study in Southern “No Promo Homo” Laws.
Hall has said about himself, “I am a gay guy, I am a dad, I’ve got 4 kids. I was married for 20-plus years to a wonderful, wonderful woman who is still my dear friend.”
How can we trust Darlene Graham if she continues to accept the help of Kevin Hall? What will she do for him and his LGBTQ advocacy if she wins?
