But yet, where are the SC taxpayers’ state tax refunds? It’s great that things might be better on the federal level, but a lot of folks for whom the federal changes are “making a difference”, they also need their state refunds. Can Timmons or anyone else make some call down to their connections in the state house and get the citizens state refunds out to us?
It never ceases to amaze me how these people try to fool their base. The average tax refund for people in SC is way lower than the national average because our incomes are way lower. Whatever minor increase in refunds South Carolinians might have received are more than eaten up by increased costs of living. So no, they are not making a difference in SC, unless you consider reduced borrowing to survive making a difference. The economy sucks for everyone except the very rich.
Even South Carolina’s recent so-called tax cuts only shifted the tax burden further onto middle- and lower-income persons.
