A shooting on Saturday evening (June 21, 2025) at an Anderson County Juneteenth celebration led to chaos as hundreds of party-goers scattered and ten were shot, leading to the death of at least one reveler.
According to a press release from the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) regarding the incident, “the chaotic scene brought in more than fifty law enforcement personnel, EMS, firefighters, troopers and SCDNR after hundreds of people scattered, leaving behind shoes and debris in the roadway.”
“At least 10 people were gunned down,” in the shooting, which reportedly followed a fight.
“One person is unfortunately dead, one patient was flown to Greenville Memorial Hospital and at least eight others were taken to nearby hospitals including in Anderson and Greenville,” the release noes.
The party took place on the street “in a neighborhood along Scarborough Road,” although an Instagram post issued by ACSO clarified that “the shooting occurred outside within feet of a Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) facility” located approximately 4.5 miles west of downtown Anderson, S.C.
“However, the (VFW) post does NOT have any affiliation with the event itself,” the post clarified.

One Facebook user reported having heard the shooting from their nearby residence, noting they were “sure it was more than thirty shots.”
“We live right down the road and heard that from the first clip that went off,” they recounted. “Then there was a second clip with about 15 to 20. And then another clip that was probably about 30.”
The event was reportedly the sixth annual gathering in that neighborhood to celebrate Juneteenth, a federal holiday observed annually on June 19 to commemorate the end of slavery in the United States. Juneteenth was declared a federal holiday by former president Joe Biden in 2021.
Deputies noted early Saturday morning that their investigation into the shooting was “active” and that detectives were working to piece together clues from an “unfolding scene.”

More culture failure…..
Sad to have to Point this Out,, BUT, Look at the Source! Martin Luther King Led and was about Peace! However these Days it is Led By THUGS that carry Guns! Probably some were Felons with Guns!!
Let’s put the longstanding observation about corporate media to the test. Zero mention of the age, sex, and race of the shooter. If it was a white male shooting up a Juneteenth gathering, it would be headlining national news. Therefore, the shooter was 95% likely a black male between the ages of 15 and 35. Who wants to bet otherwise?
There’s no gloating or satisfaction in this observation – it’s just the sad reality of our time and culture. In terms of violence and crime, there is nothing more dangerous to the life, limb, and property of a black person, of any age or either sex, than a young black, fatherless male. So says 50+ years of FBI crime statistics.
You do realize if Democrats stop shooting people, gun violence would drop by 90%.
If only we had a hate crime law…
Maybe while we are obsessing about the color of the skin of the “likely” shooter we could also talk about how easy it is for young and immature, untrained and unaccountable folks to get guns. Maybe we could also point out that the “culture failure” seems to always involve a man and not a woman. I also wonder if the gun used was stolen from the car/truck of someone too lazy or dumb to lock the gun up properly. So much more to these kinds of stories than skin color.
Nice attempt at deflection, Laurie.
Asian and European-Americans have an equal access to guns. I don’t see their pictures on the news EVERY SINGLE NIGHT. Interesting that you’re blaming the person who’s vehicle was broken into by a criminal for the rise in shootings in your scenario. Why not blame the person breaking into the vehicle? Why don’t you look at the family structure of the shooters? How many come from a home where the mother or grandparents are raising the shooter and likely a handful of brothers and sisters from as many different fathers. How about the education level of these shooters? How many are high school dropouts? The community of generational dropouts and single parent households can cry as much as they want, but they just can’t figure out why these things keep happening to them.
