U.S. Senator Tim Scott has reportedly made several “adjustments” to his staff following the November elections – although it’s unclear whether they portend a shift in his future political ambitions.
Sources close to Scott’s office tell us one of his regional directors has been let go as part of a broader “staff shakeup.”

Originally appointed by governor Nikki Haley, Scott was elected on November 8 to a full six-year term as the Palmetto State’s junior United States Senator.
However just days after the election a story was floated indicating Scott’s interest in running for governor of South Carolina in 2018. Scott has declined to address the speculation – although it’s no secret he prefers living in South Carolina to living in Washington, D.C.
Which begs the question: Why did he run for another six-year Senate term?
Sources close to Scott tell us liberal Republican consultant Jon Lerner – who advises Haley and who previously advised U.S. Rep. Mark Sanford – is encouraging Scott to run for governor as a prelude to a 2020 presidential campaign.
Specifically, we’re told that Lerner is telling Scott he needs “executive experience” to round out his political vitae.
